Chapter 11: Tempting
"Are you really well, Ate?" Maegan asked me with a tinge of concern in her voice. She and Tita Beatriz— who is now at the billing station to pay for my hospital bills, took over on staying with me this morning after my boss left.
“Yes, Mae. That's your third question since the doctor left earlier,” I muttered, laughing after getting dressed. I folded the hospital gown I was wearing as I was admitted here and then laid it on the white bed.
I feel much better now. After taking the medicine earlier, my fever subsided. My foot is no longer swollen. That is why the doctor has allowed me to go home.
