“Yes. I told her my girlfriend was waiting for me and asked her to leave me alone,” Lucas said.

“And then? What did you say to her? She looked really embarrassed when she left,” Coco asked.

“I told her to go home and look in the mirror,” Lucas replied, his eyes darkening.

He didn’t mention that the woman had looked at Coco and said, “Your girlfriend is not as good-looking as you. She doesn’t deserve you.”

“Sure. We still have time,” Coco said as she stood up. Holding her smoothie in one hand and Lucas’s arm in the other, they continued strolling along the pedestrian street.
