Coco was asleep when Lucas got back to the villa.

He quietly signaled for the bodyguards to leave the room. He moved to the bedside and observed Coco’s sleeping face. Her eyebrows were slightly furrowed, almost as if she were having a bad dream.

Lucas leaned down and gently brushed his hand over her brows. He wanted to protect her and keep her happy. Little did he know, he desired to see her smile every day.

He felt heartbroken for her the more he learned about her past. He wanted to keep her safe so that no one could hurt her anymore, but she was suffering now because of him.

Suddenly, Coco’s eyelashes fluttered, and she opened her eyes.
