"Why did you do this?" Lucas asked coldly.

Aubrey laughed mockingly. "You’re really asking me that? Lucas, I've loved you for so many years. Tell me, why did I do that?"

"I would never love you even if Coco didn’t exist. I would have loved you from the beginning if I liked you,” Lucas replied.

Aubrey felt a pang in her chest when she heard that. It was hard for her to accept his answer even if she was prepared for it.

"Then why did you choose Coco?" She shouted. "If you loved Serenity because she saved you when you were young, what about Coco? Why her?"

She could accept losing to Serenity because she hadn't saved Lucas's life. However, she couldn’t accept losing to Coco because Coco hadn’t done anything for Lucas.

"Because she helped me move on," Lucas answered.

"What do you mean?" Aubrey was puzzled.

He had no intention of explaining further. "I can only tell you that Coco is irreplaceable to me now."
