Jackie? Was that Jackie? Fred could not help looking forward for Jackie to appear, but the noise outside faded shortly, and no one came to his room.

Fred had a moment of disappointment when he realized it was not Jackie. He curled up in a ball, feeling colder in the blanket.

His mind flashed back to what the man he should have called 'father' told him.

"You're just a guest in the Valor family. Besides, your mom harmed them. I know you aren't willing to leave Jacqueline Valor and come back to Lanford. You can choose to stay, but you'll realize this one day. You'll only get what you want when you return to Landford."
