"Yeah. She'll stay overseas for the time being. It's probably better for us," Terry muttered, shifting his gaze to Lisa.

"From now onward, all I have is you." Terry pulled Lisa into his embrace and spoke as he breathed in her scent.

Lisa wondered if Terry wanted to cry. She could feel him trembling in her arms and sniffling as she held him tight.

Glynnis Quirk's departure from the country signified her admission of defeat. She would no longer fight Terry for power over the White Maple Group, but it also meant the weak mother-son bond had completely crumbled, replaced by an unbridgeable gap between Terry and Glynnis.

Although cool and aloof, his mom's departure from the country must have heightened his emotions. Glynnis was still his mother, after all.

Lisa moved her hands and hugged him tight. "Terry, I'm not all you have. You'll have the kids too. We'll have lots of kids and live happily ever after. Maybe your mom will then realize her thinking was wrong."
