The intense pain on the back of her hand started subsiding. Serenity took a deep breath and opened her eyes.

The first thing she saw was Lucas' arm.

She realized that she had been grabbing onto it this whole time.

"Sorry!" she quickly let go.

"Don't worry about it. I asked you to grab it," Lucas said, pulling his hand back.

"Come again next week at the same time," Mr. Smith told Serenity, "Remember, avoid getting your hand wet and lifting heavy objects for 3 hours."

After leaving Mr. Smith's clinic, Lucas offered to drive Serenity home.

"I... I'll just take the bus," Serenity declined his offer and turned around to leave.
