"No need to thank me. All I did was bring you here. Mr. Smith said it can be treated, so it should be fine," Lucas said.

Lucas casually asked as he drove, "When did you injure your hand?"

"It’s been almost four years," Serenity answered.

'Almost four years…' Lucas thought about it and realized that that would be when Serenity had been in prison. "You got injured in prison?"

Serenity remained silent and said nothing, but the look on her face had given him the answer.

"Who was it? Who hurt you so?" There was a hint of anger in Lucas' voice as he wondered who in the world would treat Serenity so cruelly. Lucas knew Serenity had been in prison but never thought much about what she had gone through during her time in prison. He had just only realized how much she had suffered.

Serenity said nonchalantly, "It doesn't matter anymore."

"Who did this?" Lucas asked again.

"Even if I tell you, what's the point? Can I put them through all the pain I've gone through?"

"Why not?" Lucas said
