Chapter 4 Prepare the bath water

Both Areiza and Darren are shocked by Grandma’s sudden words. Areiza looked at Darren, her eyes were filled with confusion.

He didn’t seem to look like he was not well. Areiza thought.

“Grandma, I had a full body check-up not long ago. I am completely healthy.” Darren looked at Grandma and replied.

“Then, why there is still no news about my great-grandson?” Grandam looked at Darren and said in a stern voice. “I am certain there is nothing wrong with Aria, then it must be your fault.”

Hearing Grandma's words, Areiza who was eating pastries, get choked. Her eyes fell on Darren’s dark face, and she lowered her head to suppress her laughter.

“Buzz… Buzz…”

Darren looked at his grandmother and don’t know how to answer when suddenly, there is a sound of a mobile phone ringing echoed in the living room. It was Darren’s phone ringtone.

Darren had a sigh of relief and look around for his phone. He saw that his phone was placed on the side table beside the sofa, where Areiza was sitting.

Areiza also saw this and was about to give pick up the phone to give it to Darren, when Lillian who was also sitting close to the table, took it before Areiza.

Lillian was about to hand over the phone to Darren, when her eyes fell on the caller ID on the phone screen, her face immediately changed, and she looked at Darren and said…

“Why is Hallie calling you? Don’t tell me you are still in touch with that woman?” Lillian's voice was filled with anger.

Darren quickly took the phone from her hand and hung up. He looked at Lillian and said, “Mom, it’s not what you think?”

“Is that Hallie? Darren, didn’t I tell you to stay away from that girl? You are already married to Aria, how can get involved with another woman? Do you want to anger me to death?” Grandma stood up from the sofa and scolded Darren angrily.

She was so angry that she started to cough. Darren wanted to help her to sit down, but she pushed him away. Areiza saw the situation and helped Grandma sit down. She gave her a glass of water and said…

“Grandma don’t be angry. The anger is not good for health. Please, don’t be angry…” Areiza said as she rubbed her back.

After drinking some water, Grandma calmed down a little. She looked at Darren again and said, “Darren, Aria is such a good girl. Why don’t you just live peacefully with her. I don’t have much time left, just let me live the rest of days left in my life peacefully. Why are you always trying to anger me to death?”

“Grandma don’t talk like this. You to live a long and healthy life.” Darren held Grandma’s hand and continue, “Grandma, next time if you want to see me, you can call me. Your body is not in a good health, I don’t want you get ill.”

“No way. If I don’t come like this, how can I see with my own eyes how you are treating my grand daughter-in-law. What if you bully her?” Grandma said.

“Grandma, I am fine,” Areiza said from the side. She felt warm in her heart after hearing Grandma's words.

“It's good that you are fine. But, if this brat didn’t treat you well, you must tell me. Grandma will always support you.” Grandma held Areiza’s hand and patted slowly. Then she turned her head and looked at Darren and spoke, “By the way, tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the Blue Ocean Group. I want you to buy a beautiful evening gown for Aria. I want to everyone sees how lucky I am to have a granddaughter-in-law like Aria. Do everything well. Don’t make me angry again.”

“Of course, Grandma.”

After chatting with Grandma and Mom for a while, they left. I felt guilty about hiding our divorce from them.

“What are you thinking about?” Darren asked.

Hearing Darren’s voice, Areiza came back to her senses and shook her head, Nothing.”

Areiza said and was about to leave. She felt like staying in the same place with Darren for a long time was not good for her heart. She felt a little uncomfortable in her heart.

“Where are you going?” Darren asked.

“Going outside for a walk.” Areiza replied.

“Can you help me prepare the bath water?” Darren looked at Areiza and asked.

Areiza looked at him with her eyes full of confusion and shock. After they got married, they didn’t stay together or talk with each other. However, as soon as she signed the divorce papers, why did she feel like Darren start to behave like a husband?

However, Areiza didn’t want to think about this matter much, because she didn’t want to give herself any false hopes anymore.

She thought for a moment and nodded, “Okay.” After saying this, she went upstairs. Anyway, she just did not want to stay away from Darren, it doesn’t matter where she went.

Areiza went inside the bathroom and looked at the huge bathtub in front of her. She had never used it before.

Areiza sat at the edge of the bathtub, start the tap, and then looked at the water slowly filling inside the bathtub. As she looked at the water, suddenly the image of Darren sitting inside the bathtub come into her mind. His wide shoulder, narrow back… As Areiza thought about this, she felt her heart start to beat faster…

Areiza Kensley! What the hell are you thinking about? He is no longer your husband. It’s inappropriate for you to think about him like this. Areiza scolded herself in her heart.

“No, I have to move out of this place as soon as possible, if things going on like this, it will not take long before the wall I build around my heart will collapse.” Areiza said to herself.

“What are you talking?”

As Areiza was busy scolding herself, the sudden voice of Darren shocked her. She quickly turned around and was about to stand up, when she lost her balance and with a loud THUD…

Areiza fell into the bathtub and water splash out of the bathtub. Thank God, it was already filled with water, so she didn’t get hurt.
