Angel walked down the hallway to her office, her pencil skirt giving her the bit of power she was feeling. She had no clue how to address her dad, but she knew that she’d have to. Now, after resting for a day in body and mind, she knew she would have to say something. Hopefully, in private, but she wasn’t above making her dad a public issue among the men either. She sat down at her desk and took a sip of her coffee before starting up her computer. She had some final details she needed to go over before she dealt with her dad though. Once her computer was going, she logged into her files, pulling up some statements for the clubs. After fifteen minutes though, a knock on her door caused her to look up. “Dad?” she said, looking at the sheepish man standing before her. “May I come in, Angelina?” She really wanted to say no because she wasn’t ready to deal with him but instead, she waved her hand for him to enter. “Please have a seat.”
“It’s a pleasure to be here Don Antonio. My sons and I say thank you.” “No need for thanks Rafael, it’s a business meeting.” “Of course. I must say, Don, you have beautiful children.” The brown eyes of Rafael glanced over the three boys and two girls who were all in the room; and he would say he would be honored to be connected to such a family. His eyes stayed on the three boys, trying to figure out who Angel was though. No one really knew who he was, they hadn’t seen his face but the word on the street was that he was sharp and tough and ready to take over being the Don when Antonio retired. “Thank you Rafael.” “May I inquire which son is Angel though?” All eyes of the children turned to their dad who smirked; after all, that was a common thought among people. “Angel, please come here.” A 5’6, brown hair, golden eye female stepped up next to the gentleman behind the desk and both father and daughter
Damian re-read the contract again, for the second time and sighed, again. He was aware of what he needed to do; the attack on their men was proof enough to him that they just didn’t have the man power for protection, so they went to their allies for help. But in their world, you never asked for anything without giving anything; and that was within any Italian family, mafia based or not. It still just grated on his nerves that he had to. He seen his father, and grandfather, work this business like nothing, and never needed help. But then times have changed, and Damian had expanded their wealth well beyond what his grandfather’s was. He was good at seeking and trading antiques, he had been taught well, even better than other’s over him. But as, the saying goes, the bigger the pound, the bigger the target. He was proud of his accomplishments, his whole family was, but he wasn’t proud of the spot light that had been shinned upon hi
Rafael watched his son as he watched Angel and he had to smile to himself. Oh, he had no intention of changing anything; he was going to let them figure that one out. “Don Antonio,” Damian said, holding out his hand, “a pleasure to meet you.” “Likewise, Damian; Rafael, nice to see you again. Please, let me introduce Rosa, your fiancé,” Antonio said, placing his hand on her back. Damian glanced at the green eye beauty and smiled, trying his best not to be disappointed. “Excuse me, Don, but we are missing Angel, thought he would be here for this.” “No, we are not.” D
Two weeks later, Angel pinched the bridge of her nose as she made her way out of the building. She needed lunch and a stiff drink after that stupid meeting. She knew she was going to have fights on her hands, she was ready for that. What she wasn’t ready for was pig headed men and their old style view who wouldn’t even let her speak. In fact, after she bid them a good morning, they insulted her by asking her to pour their drinks and to fetch their breakfast. And after those comments, all she saw was red. Two and a half hours later, she had a massive headache and wanted nothing more to drink and then go to the shooting range. None of the heads of the families would dare disrespect her dad, or her brothers, but her, they just didn’t care. If they had been
“What are you doing here?” Damian asked as he walked out of his office and saw Angel there with a few of her men who had been hanging out for the week. “I can’t let my men have all the fun.” She smiled and he had to grin as he looked her over in her black slacks, her heels and the green tank top blouse she was wearing. “I have a problem with keeping my nose out of all my businesses.” “So, you are here to learn?” “If you don’t mind? I mean, se ti dà il dito (if it bothers you)…” “No, you are fine.” He offered her a smile and went back to the business he was going
She glanced in the mirror at the green silky dress that fitted to her body like a glove, the spaghetti straps being jeweled and crossing a few times down her back where it meet the rest of the dress, right above her butt. She twisted and turned as she looked at herself, the dress doing amazing things to her self esteem. And paired with her black heels and her hair up, she would look amazing; and that she could do with. She sighed as she stepped off the platform and out of the room, going back to her changing room to change into her suit again. She paused as she heard the ding from the front door and then a voice that was haunting her; Damian. She walked out of the room, smiling at him as she spotted him. “Hello Angelina,” he said, with a smile.
Angel sucked in a breath as he eyes stayed glued to him, not sure how or why he would be feeling like that, and she wasn’t all too sure she wanted to fight it. She liked the thought of a hand that should be at the small of her back skimming and cupping her ass; or, the thought of a hand upon her shoulder moving to the back of the neck to grab it or even massage it. And all of those thoughts and feelings were dangerous. They pulled up to the Ritz and he helped her out before giving the keys to the valet. And as he put his hand on her back, she smirked and whispered, “if your hand happens to wander downward to grab the ass, I won’t object. Or, if you find you can’t keep your hands to yourself, I won’t frown upon it.” He sucked in a breath as he heard that. Now, that was an open invitation. They walked through the doors and his hand skimme

Damian watched the woman he cared way too strongly for walk down to the car that had been brought to place by one of her men sometime throughout the night. Only when he was sure she was safely driving home to get ready for her day, did he go back inside to get ready for his. He had told her things were over and finalized with her sister, and boy, could he tell how pissed she was, though she never said a word. But he was curious if she had picked up on what that meant for her. He wasn’t the ‘over-the-top’ type in showing his feelings for her, but she had to at least see there was something there. That meant he would need an exceptional date to take her on. At this point, he would have asked her sister or her dad, but by the sound of things, her dad might not be the best person to get involved. As he jumped in the shower, he let his mind wander. Memories of the night merged with thoughts about their first time together and he knew it would be amazing. He let out a gr
Inside, Damian swore at the feel of her lips against his. He knew she didn’t like people going behind her back, and he honestly didn’t blame her. He also didn’t want to be the one to tell her, and hadn’t expected her to come right and ask about the deal with Rosa. In hindsight, he should have known better, should have known that she wasn’t the type of female, or sister, to let Rosa get hurt. Of course, she would deny herself if that meant her sister wouldn’t feel pain. It was a trait he admired in her. He wrapped his arms tighter around her and lifted her up, her legs locking around his waist as his hands moved to cup her ass. As she molded tightly against him, he had to question whether she truly couldn’t sense just how well they fit together; how perfect they were. It really felt like her body was made for him. And like that, he carried her to his room and laid her down on the bed, his lips moving from hers to her soft neck. Her hold around him loosen
His eyes ran over her, she could feel them everywhere and she looked at him again. She knew she looked a sight, but she also knew she couldn’t go to a hospital, at least not right now. “Damian,” she whispered, and he quickly had his arms around her. He lifted her up and took her straight to his bathroom, sitting her down on the counter. “Angelina, what happened?” “I had a fight…..with my dad….it was nasty.” She tried hard to fight the stuttering, but she knew it wasn’t working. “Okay, you had a bad fight with your dad, but I don’t think he would have done this.” She shook her head, her hands resting on his arms still holding onto her. “N…no…I left…angry…drove….car dead…and gang…” He wrinkled his brows as he tried to piece together what her jumbled words meant. Seeing her like this was outright confusing. This was not the powerhouse of a woman he knew and seeing her like this was terrifying. She blinked at him once, th
Angel still saw see red as she drove down the street, her mind frazzled over that encounter. That wasn’t like her dad, which was why she was all the more confused. And again, had that been anyone but him, they would have paid dearly for it. More than likely, she would have cut off their tongue or hands. Though she had no problem beating anyone into respecting her, family included, she struggled to do that with her dad, never once thinking he would be so disrespectful. But she knew deep down, where she didn’t want to admit, that he could be the one person she wouldn’t touch. And being who she was, that wasn’t acceptable. Father or not, he was no longer the man running the show; she was, and he needed to know his place. Of course, that meant it was up to her to show him. Just for a moment, as she pulled up to the light, she closed her eyes and let out a deep breath. She waited for a few seconds before she opened them again and looked around, her brow crinkling. She knew the are
That night, Angel walked into her parent’s house, smiling at Rosa and then gave her mom a kiss. God, she was really dreading this talk, although she needed it to be done. She trusted no one but Jr in this. Anything could go wrong and she needed to have those who had her back behind her. But she also knew that computer programs weren’t untraceable and anyone could follow Jr’s tracking, and therefore he would be in trouble. “Mamma, dov'è papà (Mama, where is dad)?” “In the office, sweetie.” “Thanks,” she called out to her mom as she walked to the back part of the house where his office was. She took a deep breath, knocked, and waite
Two days later, Angel was sitting at her desk, her fingers running over her lips, her thoughts still focused on what Damian had told her. Right after he had said that, she had taken him home and nothing more was said. But he had told her when, not if, they were together; when, so a promise. And Lord help her, that was a promise she was wanting him to keep! And she had always thought that domineering men would be something she couldn’t stand, that for her, she needed men to bow to her whim, not the other way around. But she wouldn’t lie, his words, how they were spoken, had her body pinning for more, and soon. Now she was smart enough to know that it was only that man that brought that out, that no one else ever could or would. And deep down, a place where she didn’t want to examine too closely, told her that made him special and made just for her.
Angel stayed outside for a few minutes to compose herself and her thoughts. As the boss, you didn’t question when someone told you to do something. And if he liked it or not, Angel was Damian’s boss and he had better start listening. Oh, she knew he was curious, how could you not be? But that didn’t mean that you didn’t listen when someone said something. This could have gone a lot worse and if something happened, well it was on her head. She was supposed to be protecting him, not putting him in danger because he was curious. She licked her lips as she walked over to him, a brow lifted. She was having a hell of a time with people ignoring her and she knew she was about to blow. “The next time I fucking say stay inside, I should be listened t
“I apologize Damian, if you will please go back with my…” she paused and her eyes opened wide and it was clear the thoughts going through her mind but before he could stop her, she started again. “If you could go back to the VIP section while I handle this. I need to go take care of my realm. Frank will show you the way.” “Of course.” She nodded and left him alone. He stood there for a few moments though, making no move to follow Frank as his mind was still replaying that fucking hot ass kiss and he sure didn’t want to let it go. ----- She watched the two young thugs for a few moments before she walked over, tapping the one who looked to be in charge on the shoulder. He turned around, his eyes traveling up from her heels, over her
