Aurora's POV

It's been three days since I discovered I was pregnant, and I still don’t know what to do about it. Just as Sophie had said, I needed to act quickly, but I have no idea what steps to take. It's been three days since I texted Lord Frederick that we needed to talk, but as usual, he hasn’t responded to me or returned my calls. I was tempted to go to his home, but I feared meeting his wife. What would I tell her? What if he sends me away?

Confused about what to do, I looked at the test tube in my hand. I had taken a test at Sophie's home, but I wanted to confirm it again. Maybe the result was wrong; perhaps it was just an illness and not much else.

Getting up from my bed, I went into the bathroom and stared at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes were puffy from lack of sleep, and my hair was a mess. I splashed some cold water on my face, hoping it would wake me from this nightmare. But no amount of water could wash away the reality of my situation.
