"Do you want to drink anything?”

As I get no answer, I turn to the spacious entrance hall of my apartment. Hunter is a few steps ahead, planted in the middle of the room, looking with astonishment beyond the windows that go from floor to ceiling, partially hidden by the automatic blinds.

Repressing a superb smile, I snap my fingers in front of your wide green eyes.

“Yes? "He whispers, looking at me for a miserable second, before turning to the big TV attached to the framed panel on the front wall. "Your house is... nice.”

I snort, fun.

"You're almost drooling on my carpet!”

He closes his mouth and throws me a small smile, quite shy. I feel an overwhelming chill just imagining that this same mouth has a texture as wonderful as it looks. I have to breathe deeply, pushing the feeling of your kiss to the bottom of my head.

“What do you want to drink? "I ask, throwing my bag on the L-shaped couch. "Penelope convinced me to fill the bar at home, and now it's full of drinks that I'll never b

The silence that surrounds us is full of words that we do not have the courage to say."How do you intend to make your mother convince herself that your fiancé changed his number and voice? "He asks with caution."Buying a cell phone for you.”"What about my voice?”"Control your accent, now," I reply. "There's nothing different about your voice.”Suddenly, he slides to reach me, and, with one hand wrapping my face, keeps me still, just to touch my mouth in my ear."Are you sure, Suzy? "My nerves tremble with the power of his deep and slightly hoarse voice, adorned with a foreign and seductive accent. I squeeze my knees almost unconsciously."Maybe it's just a little different" "I do my best not to babble. "Try to speak faster and lower, it can serve.”Luckily, Candy Shop's dancing beats fill the silence loaded with unknown intentions, and Natalie appears in a video call on my cell phone screen."Well, that's ironic," says Hunter, observing. "What happened to the Americans who had Bab

The day dawns cold, humid and gray. At dawn, a rain hit the city in a sudden torrent and brought back the true thermal sensation of a winter, in addition to covering the city in a misty and stormy cloak.Even with my Lamborghini's heater on at most, my bones vibrate so much below my coats and heavy fabrics, that I almost come to believe that I will never be able to warm up again. The closed windows are whitish, as if they were getting puffs from time to time, and preventing my vision into the surroundings.Poking distractedly the buttons on the panel next to the steering wheel, I breathe slowly, feeling my nose congested and icy. My body releases a hot air, although this same breath of breath is condensing into a cold smoke.I check my appearance in the mirror, and while I fix the red touch under my hair "deliberately stuck in a bun to prevent them from getting wet by the dew in the morning", I find myself thinking that in the city center the temperature would hardly reach such low de

My joints complain when I open the car door and stand on the damp sidewalk. Cutting cold runs through my body and I have to run down the cemented path in the garden to reach the door of the house. It is open, supported by carelessness, and I venture through the invasion of home. It is as small as I thought, and even less cozy than humanly can be considered habitable. The first room is divided between living room and kitchen, compact and devoid of colors or furniture. The small and narrow corridor leads to two single doors, and the last one is open, letting out small and brittle muffled sounds. I open the first door, and find a bathroom as empty as the rest of the house, but I enjoy what I have access to. I only continue my exploration when everything is in order with my bladder.I push the door ajar with the tip of my boot, cursing the aged wood for opening with a growing squeak. Hunter for what he is doing and raises the instrument in his hands, in a reflection of fright. It is a lar

Shrapnel shake around us like dust on a road, and my breath hurts my throat. All the weight of the man on my body makes it little easier for air to enter my lungs.“What’s going on? "I scream, but my voice doesn't sound louder than a whisper. The cacophony of bursts is too big for me not to be able to overdo it.Hunter has his face next to my ear, and he doesn't need so much effort for me to be able to listen to him."I should be dead, can you remember, girl?”I would have snorted if despair didn't leave me so blocked for any reaction besides shrinking.Covering my eyes with my hands, I get scared with the wheezing of a bullet that can pierce the wall that is our only shield, hitting the closet door. Rotten chips rain on the floor, and so close to my face that I smell burnt wood.Hunter repeats the same word he always says in his foreign language, and rolls away from my body. I almost scream for him to come back and not let me become a Swiss cheese, but as soon as he manages to stand

"I'm not going to be part of this" swing, starting smoothly with the car. "Be there what that means.Hunter moans softly next to me, certainly trying to contain the red flow draining into his clothes. Compared to the man who was left thrown in his kitchen, his condition is even more deplorable.“It’s fair.”"You didn't understand, comrade "despite the softness in my voice, I'm cold. "I meant that I'm not going to marry a criminal.”He gives me a sharp look."You mean I'm the criminal now, huh?”"Yes, you are. And I don't want to be an accomplice in the crimes you intend to commit after you get your legal stay.”"I've never killed anyone," he squeaks, his voice almost getting lost in the vacuum between us."Dying is not the only crime anyone can commit.”"I can tell you what...”“No! “Safe on the steering wheel with more force. "I just wanted to convince my family that I was capable of being a married woman and as successful as my husband" I'm sorry, rubbing my forehead with my hand. "And now I have my name involved in rumors of betrayal and under the rule of people with strong firepower. I don't want to die.”"You're not going to die, but I will, if we don't find a pharmacy now.”I look in your direction, half closing my eyes."Don't you dare die in my car! Aren't all the problems you're already causing enough?”He cracks his jaw, staring at me angrily.“Then stop the car!”I get ready to reply, but the bluetooth connected to my cell phone makes a small sound, and the TV attached to the dashboard of my car lights up. Candy Shop fills the environment, and my mother's name appears in a call.I brake on any corner and keep looking at the panel, waiting for the call to fall on the waiting list. When that happens, I barely have time to breathe and my mother calls again."This is the second worst day of my life,"

The next night, it's past midnight when I get home. A laugh has just sounded around the apartment, and, dragging me inside with the weight of an exhaustive meeting on my back, I rethink if it was really a good idea to let Penelope have the copy of my key.My day was productive, but I could hardly think of much while filling me with paranoia related to what happened the previous morning.Convincing my mother that my fiancé was not called Dean was the most ridiculous role I've ever played. Letting Hunter treat her with intimacy and pretend to know about every damn detail about my family, was even worse. I couldn't look at him as I went to the clinic and left him there, in the care of Penelope. Much less did I manage to go home without removing myself as a consequence by letting my dark side take shape... I lost control for a single second, and it cost me a whole night of tears and nightmares. Now, after a hot and long bath, and deciding to be ready to deal with the happiness of others,

Hunter still has fun with my reaction as he stands up with the help of the cane, staggering and gasping for the pain in his legs. He stares at me with a challenging glow in his eyes, and his posture exudes that predatory arrogance that I hate."You're not able to dance for me," you'repeated, sarcastic and mocking."Continue" encourage Penelope in a very audible hiss, her voice echoing in the waters. I don't turn around to see what she's doing."There is no music" I answer to Hunter, very satisfied with not having to taste anything for his stupid inflated ego. "And you won't use my weak point against me.”Without any warning, he steps in my way, close enough to touch my face. And that's exactly what he does."Too late, beautiful girl," whispers, caressing my cheek with a finger. The soft clamor of a piano resonates softly beyond where we are, and I don't need to turn around to know that it's one of Penelope's tricks. I listen to her steps before she appears on the door frame, balancing herself in high heels that highlight the entire length of her naked thighs.Leaning with one hand on the wall, she watches me for a long time, from where I am kneeling waiting for her, venerating her. She's in no hurry. You know that I am, more than ever, willing to drown in any delight that your newly discovered sexual hunger is inclined to offer me.Therefore, I take this as an invitation to record every inch of her body in underwear made of leather and latex. She is wearing a black bodice with braided buckles that settles around her breasts as the perfect design of a heart, leaving her lap raised and more inviting than she has ever been. Black hair is hidden for some reason under a blonde wig that barely reaches your jaw, but that matches perfectly with your idea of innovation.I'm pretty sure I have my eyes shining when I notice the garter belt that connects in her tiny panties, considering that she worries about

“Listen, Mika. I want you to calm down. This is nothing but drama and emotional blackmail, it's soon over. And Grandma hit you for believing she's not strong. Have you ever thought how many times she and our mother fought and kept talking?”"This is not about mom," she sighs, calming down. "Our grandmother is dying, Suzy. She doesn't have any more time. She can't worry anymore. You can no longer have to stay away from your grandchildren because they are contrary to what her daughter wanted. She always wanted us to have someone to take care of us, but she also believes that this someone has to be a man, and all I want is to offer her some comfort before it's too late and that this guilt tear me apart inside.”That's what it is.Guilt made me make hasty decisions, but if I had had another choice... Long before I met Jonathan, I tried to deal with my problems with oblivion, with ignorance. Because I thought that not admitting something could make it less true. So I didn't admit my mistakes, and I didn't see the mistakes in others, because that way it was easier to continue acting naturally even with the chaos in my head. This caused me problems in the future, made me sick and weakened. I filled my head with unnecessary occupations. On the other hand, I learned several languages, traveled the world to graduate as many courses as I could, I got a chance to show everyone who blamed me that I could be better than that. But inside, there has always been the shadow of a child hidden in my tangle of memories. There has always been instability.I open the door that takes me to the leisure area of the roof, where the water in my pool is motionless and apparently very cold. The large window that allows me to see the sky is open, blowing a cold breeze against my loose hair, pushing it to my

No one dares to even give a peep while watching, stunned, the long and intense kiss that Mikaela steals from Penelope. Not even Colton, whose act is limited only to taking a step back, looking away and leaving. He takes the glass of some drink in his hand in a hurry to go out the door, without caring about the looks that move to accompany him. I can't see her face, because he passes through the door with his head down, but the strength with which he hits her says a lot about what Penelope's inertia before the kiss may have meant to him.Penelope, however, is the first to recover from the shock, and what she does next almost allows us all to hear Mikaela's heart breaking. She is reluctant for a second, but ends up pushing Mikaela away, pushing her with a touch of delicacy on her shoulder, just before looking for Colton. When she realizes that he is not, Penelope curses some profanity and passes by Mikaela as if she were just a stone on the way. In a single second of impetus, my friend

I made the invitation to everyone because I remember that they made my wedding one of the best brands of my life. And the best part about this is that they are all already married, or with children, and offered to take care of me in the postpartum period."How are you feeling about waiting for the babies, Hunter? “My father asks.“Nervous”Glenda laughs."If Suzy hadn't been so exaggerated, she would have had one baby at a time," she scolds in a mocking tone."I just need to know the formula to get far away from a twin pregnancy. "It's great to have all of you here tonight," I say when I raise a glass of juice. "It's not a Thanksgiving day, but it's a meeting with the most important people in my life, and the last time I'll see you for a while.”My pregnancy will not reach the thirty-seventh week, like the pregnancy of a single baby, and that is why I had the choice to prepare for hospitalization in the maternity hospital with almost eight months of gestation. Recognizing this left me panicked at first, but I already knew that I could not rule out a cesarean section since my exams became more frequent each new month. The babies are big and heavy, my stress "no matter how small it has been in recent weeks" has increased the chances of a premature birth, and my anxiety has not helped in much to ensure my rest. I'm leaving tonight for the maternity hospital, and I chose to have a dinner with friends and family members "the only family that really matters" so that they can give all the positive vibes I need for th

I observe the funeral silence that seems to observe us as a living form. Nothing but dust and silence, it's all we become after we were dead. How many of these souls will ever find peace?"One day they will cease to exist, dear. They will never be forgotten. We will still be fighting for them. Remember what you told me on our honeymoon?”Hunter gently denies it with his head.“I knew a lot of secrets for you that night.”I give a soothing smile with the memory."And one of them was that if at some point I thought about giving up, I should remember that I still had a world to save. We still have a world to save, Hunt. The world that will be the home of our babies. Don't give it up. Not now.”Hunter retreats slowly, looking at my face as if he were seeing him for the first time. We are in front of one of the cemeteries where unidentified people are buried. Hunter's uncle brought us here this morning, with the intention that I thought was a way to get closer to the family ties they lost over thirty years. It is the worst day anyone could have chosen to visit a cemetery without gates or any privacy, in an open field with a lot of dust and dead trees around.Path hand in hand with Hunter, while his uncle makes his way on the ground and talks about having visited each of the nameless tombs over the years so that he could bring peace even to those who have never had a family to cry about in their graves. It's a windy and terribly humid day, like the prelude to a storm. It's autumn, we are about to enter winter, and even the sun is misleading at this time of year. I'm wearing a scarf and above all, my body temperature has dropped faster than usual, and I'm always thinking of a way to protect my babies at all costs; even if the evil to be fought are the strong winds
