Chapter 14

After receiving an urgent call from the boss early in the morning, I quickly dressed up and stuffed some clothes into my suitcase; I couldn't believe I'd be flying out of the country that morning; it was all very sudden, and I'd never boarded a flight before.

My boss and Jackson were already waiting for me when I arrived, as was my ticket and everything else. I can't believe she does all of that in such a short period. It came unexpectedly, she said, and there was no time to announce it.

So we left for Paris around 10:00 p.m. that day and arrived the next morning. It was a long flight, but I was excited to fly for the first time. It was beautiful to see the nature of things from above, though I was scared at first until Jackson reassured me that I would enjoy it.
