The morning light streamed through the window, shining directly into my eyes. I groaned, using my hands to cover my face, trying to shield my eyes from the glare.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, blinking against the harsh light. My head was throbbing, my body heavy with fatigue. I tried to sit up, but it was a struggle. Every muscle in my body protested, screaming for more sleep. But I knew I had to get up, to face the day ahead.

I turned to the other side of the bed, expecting to see Drake there. But to my disappointment, he was nowhere to be found. I knew that I had been hoping he would sleep beside me.

But to my disappointment he did not, but I also didn't want to overstep my boundaries by inviting him over to sleep.

I laid there, torn between wanting to make him happy and respecting his space. I wondered if I had made the right decision, if I was just hurting myself.

Just then, a maid entered the room.

“Good morning, my lady,” she said, bowing her head in greeting.
