Chapter 8 - Movie

Liiza's POV

"Liiza, what is he doing here?" Zach asks, walking out of the cafe with Rilee.

"Too late." I mumble to myself.

"Oh great, and here comes the hulk." Andree rolls his eyes.

I climb out of the car, putting my hands on Zach's chest. "Zach, calm down. Let's just sit down and talk about this."

"There is no way I'm gonna sit with him." He stiffens his jaw and I can see the anger building up inside of him.

"Don't worry, I wouldn't want to sit with a pathetic, jealous wanna-be, like you, either." Andree smirks.

"You need to back off." Zach slips his arm around my waist.

"Oh, are you her boyfriend?" Andree sighs, feigning a confused expression. "I guess she didn't tell you that she slept in my bed last night. With me." He laughs. "I'm leaving. Call me if you need a ride. Mom said I should bring you back home safe and sound." After starting the car, he drives away.

I don't even have his number.

"Care to explain?" Zach sounds furious.

I look at Rilee with pleading eyes but she just shrugs.

"Can we go and sit first?" I ask calmly and Zach nods.

We all walk into the cafe and sit down in our usual booth. We order hot chocolates with marshmallows and cream.

After they are served to us, Zach finally breaks the silence. "Why were you with Andree?" Every word is pierced with venom and hatred.

"Why do you care so much?" I respond softly.

"I can't believe you would even speak with him. I can't even look at you right now." He crosses his arms, his volume raising.

"Dude chill," I chuckled, but that didn't change the tension in the air at all.

I looked at Rilee, who just shrank deeper into the chair.

"How can I chill? He said you slept with him"

"Come on dude, you know better than to believe that fool" I chucked

"But why with him?"

"Well just like you're not living at home, I'm also not, you know our parents traveled"

"How does your mom know him? And Why didn't they just let us stay together?"

"I don't know, I was just sent to live with him and I couldn't possibly pack my bag and leave, it's disrespectful to his mom"

"And what about the sleeping part"

"I was tired last night and entered the wrong room but he wasn't in his room when I entered, so I fell asleep in there and woke up with him beside me"

"Ewe, your contaminated with the Andree flu"

"I took a shower"

"Fiiine" He groaned.

We finally talked everything out, then continued taking our chocolates.

"Come back to Logan's place with me." His words are carefully placed and slow, gentle.

"Okay."

"As long as I don't have to go back home to my annoying brother." Rilee says, ironically, trying to make us crack a smile.

Rilee talking about her brother makes my stomach crunch in pain. I guess I never mentioned it but yeah, I have a twin brother. His name is Lucas.

He's not dead or anything. He was taken to boarding school when we were 14. He has been there for the last four years.

Lucas does come to visit for holidays, but he's only given the Christmas holidays, which means I only get to see him once a year.

I love him so much.

"You guys go wait outside. I'll pay the bill." Zach says solemnly, his gaze fixed on the table. My mind keeps wandering else where.

"What do you want to watch?" Zach hands the remote to Rilee.

I stay silent, crossing my arms.

"Well I'll choose then." Rilee says finally, flicking through the movie options. "The Pacifer?"

"What? No. We should watch 'Sharknado 5.'" Logan says, plopping into an armchair.

"We're watching 'Fast and Furious 8.'" Zach says, smirking.

"Into the storm."

"The Volcano."

"Let It Shine!"

"Ant Bully."

"Wall-E!"

The three of them continue to bicker about the movie for a while before I decide to interrupt.

"Guys-" They continue to fight to I raise my voice. "GUYS!"

They all turn to me. Zach looks averts his eyes from mine.

"Geez woman, learn to control your anger!" Logan says and I just roll my eyes.

"Why don't we all just choose a movie, then, blindfolded, each choose a movie out of the four?" I suggest, tentatively.

"Sounds good to me." Rilee says.

"I'm good with it." Logan smiles.

"Okay." Zach agrees softly.

"Well, I choose Suicide Squad." I pick the DVD out of the pile.

"The Pacifier." Rilee chooses, and I grab it.

"Fast and Furious 8." Zach leans back into the lounge.

"Sharknado 5." Logan says.

"Okay. Now, who'll get blindfolded first?" I ask.

Logan jumps up, going to his closet to find a blindfold, while Rilee and I lay out the DVDs on the floor and wait for the boys.

Zach is playing with Buck, Logan's dog. He's a Pomeranian. Buck is tiny and so fluffy. Even though I'm more of a cat person, I still have a special spot for dogs.

"Here you go," Logan hands me the blindfold.

"Liiza's starting!" Rilee pipes up, grabbing the blindfold from my hands and telling Logan to shuffle up the DVDs.

Rilee goes behind me and ties the fabric over my eyes. It all goes dark.

"How many fingers am I holding up?" Rilee asks.

"Uh..." I think for a moment. "Three, I guess."

"Nope!" she says, popping the 'p.' "Let's start."

"Okay. Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle, shuffle, shuffl-" I hear Logan mumble to himself.

"You know what would make this easier? If you stop saying shuffle every second!" I snap and Rilee chuckles.

I can't see him, but I'm pretty sure he just rolled his eyes.

"Okay. Choose." Rilee says, guiding my hands forward. "The one you pick will get one point."

I feel my way over to the DVDs, picking up the one furthest to the left.

"The Pacifier!" Rilee shouts.

I take off my blindfold and see Rilee gloats, doing a victory dance.

"That's only one point out of four." Logan rolls his eyes.

The next person to be blindfolded is Zach.

His hands land on 'Sharknado 5' which means that this time, Logan was the one doing the victory dance.

After Zach is Rilee and she chooses 'Sharknado 5' as well.

So basically the votes are:

'Sharknado 5': two points

'Suicide Squad' : zero points

'The Pacifier': one point

'Fast and Furious 8' : zero points

"Okay. Logan, you're up." Zach smiles.

"You're my only hope. You have to vote for Pacifier" Rilee shouted.

Logan is blindfolded and the movies are shuffled. He moves his hands around and drop on 'The Pacifier.'

"Yeah!" Rilee fistbumps into the air.

"We need a tiebreaker, now." Logan groans, falling back onto the ground.

"How are we going to do that?"

"Guys, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I grin.

"Yes! We should dump the movie and go to the park." Zach suggests.

"I was going to say we let Buck break the tie. Your idea is dumb."

"Good idea Liz." Logan smiles. "Buck!" He calls.

The snowball runs into the room, his tail wagging.

"Okay, Buck. We need you to choose one from these two movies. Only one." Logan explains to his dog.

What is happening?

Logan sets Buck in front of him and let's Buck sniff one of the movies.

Buck walks over to 'The Pacifier.'

"I love your dog." Rilee teases, a huge smile upon her lips.

Logan exhales in defeat. "I'll grab the popcorn."

And just like that, everything seems back to normal.
