Chapter I- New Found Friend

"Although loving you isn't a mistake, there’s still a limit to how much pain my heart can take"

"Ow sorry, I didn't notice you," Miya said while she picks up the books that fell when she suddenly bumps into someone.

That person also helps her pick up the books "No, it's okay I didn't also see you coming, so it's not entirely your point. I was so into reading this novel that I forgot to be aware of my surroundings." The man said while raising the book he was reading.

Miya glance over the book when suddenly her eyes sparkled "Wow!!! I'm also reading the same novel right now." She became overly excited that she didn't notice that she suddenly speaks loudly and forgot that they were still in the library.

The man noticed that the people in the library were staring at them so he suggested talking in some other place. "Well, we seem to like the same author. How about we talk somewhere else? I know it's so sudden but I think it's rare to see someone who has the same interest as mine. I hope it won't bother you." The man lowered his eyes as soon as he finishes talking afraid that his nervousness will be shown in his eyes.

"That would be great! I also have the same idea as you. How about we go to that cafe across the street?" Miya said as she pulls the man out of the library.

The man was taken aback but a small but loving smile appeared on his face.

Miya only noticed that she's been holding the man's hand when they arrived at the cafe.

She immediately pulls her hand back, "Sorry, I just got carried away."

The man smiled, "It's okay, let's go in."

"By the way, I'm Max and you are?". The man introduces himself after they take a sit.

"Hi I'm Miya, I never expect to meet someone who likes to read a novel written by MXTX especially that you’re a guy."

"Well, there's someone who introduced this book to me. At first, I was reluctant to read it but after observing that person be immersed in the story that she didn't even notice her surroundings, I got curious that I started to ask questions to myself like, 'What does the story tell? what's so good about that? Is it really that interesting and in order for those questions to be answered I decide to read it as well and before I knew I got hooked up with it and now I felt like there's no way to get out from this? Hahaha". Max explained shyly but lovingly.

Miya's eyes sparkled; she can't help but smile. Knowing that she finally meets someone with who she can share these things, she's really happy. "The same goes for me. I really like the story, the plot twist and all. After reading one of her novels, I decided to read all her works. And it fascinates me all the time. Thinking about how she was able to bring those characters to life. I really admire her. But aren't you bothered by the characters since both of the main leads in her novel were both men.?"

Max took a sip of his milk tea "Well I thought I will be bothered by it but if you really read and understand the story, you won't mind it. After all, it's the content and the story that matters the most. Also, it really didn't matter after all love still loves no matter what form it is. It shouldn't be defined by gender, race, or anything and I believed that love has no boundaries, so if you really love someone that trivial things shouldn't matter right?"

Miya was stunned for a moment; her eyes start to get moist then she suddenly grabbed Max's hands "Can we be friends? I really like to be your friend. Meeting you is like destiny, I... I have never met such an outstanding person like you.  Your thoughts and ideals match mine. I feel like we're already close even if we just met today." Miya was really on the verge of crying, she's just so happy to be able to meet someone with who she can share her ideas and thoughts freely. Since she's so into boy’s love novels, she can't really tell it to other people because she knew that they won't understand her sentiment but now that she finally found the right person she won't let go of this opportunity.

"It's my pleasure to be your friend, well your case is the same as mine. My friends were all guys and I can't tell them about my interest in this kind of novel. Although I'm not ashamed of this, they won't understand even if I tell them about it so I'm used to reading alone. But since we got to know each other maybe we can hang out from time to time." Max suggested.

After that, they talked for almost an hour before deciding to leave.

"Thank you for your time, it's really great I got to meet you," Max said while walking outside the cafe.

"The pleasure is all mine; I really have a fun time today. Let's get in touch and meet each other again sometime, bye".  Miya said while waving her hand. Then she turned around and happen to see a familiar man looking at her but she continues to walk as if she saw nothing.

"Looks like you're having a great time." The man said as he follows her.

Miya didn't bother to answer nor to stop walking. She just completely ignores him.

"Are ignoring me? Pretending not to hear or see me? Or do you really forget about me? After ghosting me for 1 year, you just left without a trace, no calls or texts and you didn't even leave a single word. Now that I finally found you, you were here busy smiling and laughing at some other guy you just met? How in the world do you want me to accept that?" The man can no longer tolerate the fact that he's been ignored so he walks past her and instantly appeared in front of her.
