Dominic.
Six Months Later, The loud music blasting from the speakers made everything in the bar tremble lightly and was definitely capable of giving everyone a terrible migraine after the party was over but I remained seated at my private spot, a secluded place away from all the madness. I was now on my second vodka bottle. “Cheer up man!” David yelled into my ear as he threw a hand across my shoulder and pulled me closer to him, “look around you, beautiful women are at every corner of this bar and you choose to sit here and drink all by yourself like a depressed old man.” David was a childhood friend that was a chronic womanizer and alcoholic. He enjoyed the company of different women and they also enjoyed his so he was always the one in charge of organizing parties and bar events. “There is absolutely nothing you can say to him that’s going to make him stop being moody, I have tried everything but he is still like that.” Ted suddenly spoke up as he walked over to join us. I groaned, annoyed by their constant pestering and the fact that the quiet little spot I had found at the bar was no longer mine. Ted was also a close friend and he had teamed up with David to bring me out to the party. According to them, it would do me some good but two hours into the party and I still wasn’t feeling any better, in-fact, I felt worse. It’s been six months since Bella drove out of the house in a taxi and not even once had she called or tried to reach out to anyone, including me. I had no idea when I started looking into her, trying to find any detail on where she could be but nothing came up and no matter how hard I tried, I always met a dead end. It was so frustrating! “Can’t believe you’re like this because your ex-wife walked out on you,” David mumbled as he staggered around, clearly drunk because the strong smell of alcohol had clung onto him. “Nooo, he is like this because he can’t find her,” Ted chipped in, leaning closer to me, “but look on the bright side buddy, she might be unreachable now but I am sure since we haven’t heard anything then she must be doing just fine.” He added and for some reason, that statement irritated me. I tore their hands away from my body, “Can I be alone, please just…” Soft music suddenly started playing and before anyone could figure out what was going on, a beautiful voice was now echoing in the bar. Someone was singing on stage and she looked so ethereal in her dress. David whistled excitedly as he hurried over to get a better view of her, “Who is this beauty?” “You don’t know her?” Ted asked David, surprised that there was a woman on earth and at his party that Ted wasn’t familiar with. “I don’t think so… not sure if I’ve seen her before. There is no way I would meet someone like her and not recognize her.” I followed after them as they made their way forward, closer to the stage because there was something about her voice that was both soothing and familiar. “She must be a celebrity singer.” I overheard one of the guests at the bar whisper as everyone looked on with a captivated expression on their faces. Who was she? Suddenly, I bumped into David and Ted, they had both abruptly stopped walking and were staring up at the stage with some sort of expression on their faces. “What’s w-“ The words barely made it past my lips when my eyes rested on her. Bella. She was almost not recognizable but there was no mistaking her face. She still had the same features but they now stood out so boldly that she looked so much more beautiful than she ever had. But it was impossible, it must be a trick of the light because how could the same woman I had been searching for, for the past six months without any progress suddenly turn up singing at this bar? I lost count of how many times I blinked, hoping the illusion would fade away but it didn’t. It was really Bella. I had never really pictured seeing her again so I had no idea how I was going to react, but I definitely wasn’t expecting the feeling that took over me. Her eyes were closed and even though I had been married to her for three good years, I had no idea she could sing that well. “Is it just me or does she look like Bella?” David spun around in his drunken state to ask and he kept going back and forth with Ted about if they were mistaken or not. Their voices faded into the background and my eyes remained fixed on her. She was so different, different from the woman I had known. I could sense the change, not just in her appearance but in the way she carried herself on that stage, the confidence that she exuded and the feminine energy she now possessed. It was a new side of Bella I never knew existed and I was captivated by it, just like everyone else present at the bar. As soon as the music stopped playing and the room erupted with a loud applause from the crowd, she got off the stage and began to walk away. I followed after her immediately and managed to get close enough to grab her arm and pull her back. She spun around and my breath got caught in my throat when her piercing green eyes met with mine. “It’s really you.” I whispered. There was this rush of excitement mixed with anger that seized me at that very moment, I was both happy yet angry to see her again. “You walk out of my house and disappear into fucking space? Because where the hell have you been for the past six months?”Bella.“You deserve to have a great time Bella, and what better time to celebrate than now?” Audrey, my best friend shrieked excitedly as she led me into the bar. There was some sort of party going on and she had been invited so she had dragged me along with her.“You finally got rid of that asshole and your life is finally back on track. We never got to celebrate the divorce back then but we can always do so now,” she added and after that, she ordered shot after shot of vodka.Things were now so much different then they were six months ago and Audrey was right, I needed to take a step back, catch my breath and celebrate how far I had come. She made sure I drank so much that I eventually lost my reserved self and even agreed to sing a song at the bar. Audrey had planned the whole thing and the regular me would have been so nervous to do that because I had never sang in front of a crowd before but the alcohol helped with my nerves and I felt so much better when everyone applauded enthu
Dominic’s POV.The sound of her voice coupled with the angry look in her eyes as she yelled at me was what baffled me the most that night. She had always been the type to stare at me lovingly and with longing but the look in her eyes now were nothing like before. Her eyes were cold and the hatred dripping from her tone was quite obvious. She turned back around to walk away and I reached out almost immediately, based on my impulse and grabbed her arm.“Bella I…” I opened my mouth to speak but before the words could make it out, her hand shot up and came down heavily on my left cheek. My cheeks stung and a low ringing sound filled my ears.Everyone gasped out loud behind me and my eyes widened in shock.“Oh my God did she just slap him?” I overheard David’s stunned voice behind me.“She’s in trouble now, Dom is definitely angry and there will be no stopping him now.” Came Ted’s amused voice.“He’s never going to let her get away with this one.” A random person whispered but I honestly c

I was struggling so hard to contain my anger that I had to slow down at one point and take deep breaths so as to settle my head.Few seconds later, I got into the car beside Audrey and she pulled out of the club.“Can you relax?” Audrey said, grinning wildly, “you just slapped the biggest jerk the world had ever seen in front of everyone and walked out on him too. That was amazing Bella and he totally deserves it.” She shrieked excitedly.“This is not about that, Audrey, I am just worried about why I met him there. It must have been a coincidence but seeing him again made me feel some kind of way and I was really hoping to never see him again.” I responded and she scoffed out loud.“It was no coincidence at all. That jerk has been looking into everything about you for the past few months.”“What? How do you know that?”That was definitely not something I had expected to hear. She needs surgery and there is only one doctor that can perform such a surgery.”“Only one doctor? I don’t mind how much it costs, just get this doctor to perform the surgery on her, money is never a problem.” I responded but the doctor shook his head.“Sadly, that doctor isn’t someone I can find, trust me, we’ve searched for him and tried to get in touch with this doctor countless times but to no avail. You need to search for this mysterious doctor by yourself if your grandmother is to ever get that surgery.”I tried to find out as much as I could from this doctor to aid my search for the mystery doctor and even though there wasn’t much to gather, we still got a head start and I forwarded everything to my assistance. The plan was to direct all my men and resources to
Bella’s POV.If I had stayed any longer in the same room with that drama queen I would probably have lost it watching her act so terribly yet enough to convince everyone, especially Dominic that she was the victim and I was bullying her.If there was anyone trying to bully anyone, it was Vivian but Dominic was extremely blinded to that fact.Outside the hospital building, I hailed a taxi and headed for Audrey’s apartment because I was already extremely late for the meeting I had that morning and would most likely have to reschedule. This was all his fault, I hissed as I stared out the window, fuming with rage whenever I remembered how he had confidently walked up to me to ask me if the accusations were true?Even after all these years, he was still blind towards Vivian tactics, maybe Audrey was right after all, they both deserve each other.Brinny had never liked me anyways so I wasn’t shocked by how she had acted towards me in the hospital. Bella.“I want a divorce.” Dominic suddenly said and I sat up immediately. He had just gotten out of bed after making love to me so passionately a few minutes ago and was getting dressed in a hurry.“What?” I raised a brow at him, unsure of what I had just heard him say.“This shouldn’t be an issue since there was nothing between us to begin with and you will be greatly compensated for the years you’ve spent here.” He continued nonchalantly.I stared up at him in disbelief, this had to be some kind of joke or I had probably not heard him right. Our marriage might not have exactly happened out of love but it had grown stronger over the years and I couldn’t picture myself with anyone other than him.Marrying Dominic was the best decision I had made and it was worth all the sacrifices I made for us to stay together all these years.“Dom… what are you saying? We just made love like…”“I want a divorce.” He blurted out and I just stared at him in shock, wide eyed.Where was that coming fr

She had always looked harmless.“Thank you Doctor.” The young doctor nodded before he excused himself.I sat down next to her and took her hand in mine, “I am so sorry you had to go through this Vivian, I promise you that nothing like this would ever happen again.
