Linda's Place

Linda sat on the couch in the living room as she came out of the bedroom dressed in a casual wear. Alexander urged her to sit and gave her coffee to drink . He walked towards the center table and picked up the first aid box.

Alexander stiff figure attended to her bruised elbow and ankles, he was looking annoyed and reprimanded her.

“ Why weren't you careful that you had to slip in the bedroom? What if something had happen and it was more severe?

“ I am fine now aren't I? I was just sad about your marriage thing and didn't pay attention to what I was doing, Linda said while sounding sad.

Alexander felt guilty, when he came in, he went into the room and saw her sitting down on the cold floor in the bathroom , she was looking pitiful and he was scared. He picked her up and left her in the bedroom to dress up after picking a dress for her.

He didn't have the courage to keep scolding her and just attended to her wound.

“ Just be more careful, I am not going anywhere okay? Alexander coaxed her.

Linda nodded her head in response, she watched how attentive he was towards her while sipping the coffee he gave her. She knew that Alexander loves her and no one would compare to her in his life, not even Ava.

Her cunning smile creep in on her face, she got the info from one of the maids in the mansion on what he was up to, she knew where he was and had called him, he rushed back to her which proves a lot. Her man was still hers, married or not.

Linda cunning smile wiped off replaced by a charming smile when Alexander looked at her , Alexander expression couldn't help but soften when he saw it.

He had been really worried about how much she was holding up, he knew he cares alot for her and that is not going to change.

When he finished with treating her, he packed up and went to the kitchen to get snacks for them , he could tell she was feeling bored all alone and he could as well keep her company.

Alexander settled into the couch and Linda face lit up when he picked up the Tv remote and asked what channel she preferred, she answered and they watched it together.

Linda felt happy and was happy Alexander decided to stay, her earlier gloomy self was gone as Alexander filled up every thought of her mind. Alexander and her spent the day enjoying each other’s company without bringing up any issue concerning his marriage.

Hours flew by and Linda slept off, her eyelids closed up as she rested on Alexander’s chest looking contented.  Just as she slept off, Alexander recalled he had an appointment with Ava and told her he would join her later. He totally forget and after making Linda comfortable, he left .

Ava stood dejected at the boutique entrance as she realized Alexander had stood her up. The wedding dress was packed and she had it in her hand, her eyes glimmered in sadness. She was feeling really hungry and decided to branch by a restaurant to eat.

The attendants had gave her a long look at how long she has been hanging around and she was already drawing attention already. She observed how couples troupe in with excitement and decided their preference for their wedding, she on the other hand…..

She had been starving since noon, the food she had taken was the breakfast she had in the morning. She walked ahead and sighted a restaurant.

She walked in and placed her order, the waitress served her in few seconds and she couldn't eat much base on her ruined mood caused by Alexander , but then on a second thought, she decided to shrug it off. She knew how much Alexander cares for Linda and he wouldn't just stop simply because they were getting married, she would just have to keep turning a blind eye.

With this mind, she regain a considerable amount of her appetite and had her meal, the meal was nice as she enjoyed it. She knew she had to be ready and know a lot will happen during this phase between her and Alexander, so yes she isn't going to be bothered and stay sad.

The time frame will be on Alexander as she would walk her way into his heart, time they say does wonder.

**********

Alexander got out and entered his car when the door was opened for him, his driver took off when he slide into the backseat and headed to the boutique as instructed. His mind was debating on if she would still be waiting or probably left. He didn't know for sure and needed to check to be sure .

The car drove into the boutique and parked and  he came down, he walked in a steady pace commanding respect as he navigated himself into the large Fair boutique.

He checked out the reception for her if she was probably there and was still waiting, he couldn't find any trace of her. He scanned the entire floor that he was but didn't see any figure of her , she would at least be standing or sitting where he could access her easily.

But then she might probably be at the mansion because he didn't expect her to wait that long when she could have access her dress and go back , the time was far gone even if everywhere was still busy, he had been so carried away by his concern for Linda and forgot about it.

Alexander decided to get his suit fully convinced that she was already back at the mansion with his grandfather, he got his preference and left , while outside even in his car , he looked around to be sure she wasn't there.

His car rode out finally out of the Fair boutique towards home, he knew that Linda would still be asleep by now and he would call her later when she would have woken up.

The car drove into the house as he stepped out, picked up his packaged suit and went in. He got to the sitting room and saw his grandfather relaxed on the couch watching TV.

The old man has improved a lot and was looking happy, he was happy to see  him happy, he didn't really know much on Ava but then his grandfather was fond of her. He walked fully in and acknowledged him, his grandfather turned his head and his eyes beamed on seeing him.

His grandfather’ s eyes lingered on his back for few seconds expecting someone but when he clearly saw he was alone , his stare became strict as he asked….

“ Where is Ava?

The sun was beginning to set, casting an orange glow over the neighborhood as Alexander made his way home. His hands gripped the steering wheel, his mind racing with anticipation. Ava's due date was approaching quickly, and every day felt like a countdown. Despite all the preparations, he couldn’t help but feel a growing sense of anxiety creeping in. He wasn’t scared of the responsibility. He was terrified of losing them—Ava, the twins. The thought had gnawed at him for months, and now, as he pulled into their driveway, it all felt too real. His phone buzzed on the seat beside him. My baby love flashed across the screen. A soft smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. Ava must be getting impatient; he was only a few minutes from home, but it seemed like the entire world had shifted in these last few weeks, time stretching and contracting with every passing hour.He reached for his phone, hands still on the wheel.“Hey baby, I’m almost home. You don’t…” His voice trailed off as the car

Ava’s eyes fluttered open, the harsh hospital lights blinding her for a moment. Her head felt heavy, and her limbs felt foreign, as if they didn’t quite belong to her. She was surrounded by the rhythmic beeping of machines and distant voices. It all seemed muffled, like she was underwater, struggling to reach the surface. But then, she felt something. A warm, comforting pressure on her hand. She turned her head, and there he was—Alexander. His face was so close, inches away, his dark eyes staring at her with an intensity that sent a flutter of nerves through her chest. His hand was wrapped firmly around hers, holding it with a strength that made her feel both safe and vulnerable. His other hand brushed through her hair, gently sweeping it back from her face, his touch so tender it made her heart ache.“Ava,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “You’re awake.”Ava blinked, trying to gather her strength. She gave him a weak smile, wanting to reassure him, even though her body fe

Ava's world was a blur. Her eyelids felt impossibly heavy as she forced them open, her vision swimming with shapes and shadows. The air smelled damp, thick with something metallic—blood, perhaps. Her head throbbed like it had been split in two, and her limbs felt like they didn’t belong to her anymore. Then, through the haze, a figure appeared.Linda.Her lips curled into a victorious smirk, her sharp eyes brimming with cruel satisfaction.Ava blinked hard, but the scene remained the same. Linda was standing over her, dressed in an elegant white dress, looking completely untouched by the filth and darkness surrounding them. Her blonde curls were perfect, her makeup flawless, as if she had walked right out of a palace and into this nightmare. But it wasn’t Linda’s beauty that made Ava’s stomach churn—it was the expression on her face. She had won. And she knew it."Finally awake?" Linda’s voice dripped with amusement, her arms crossed as she studied Ava like a cat watching a wounded bi

Linda’s pulse pounded as she stood before Alexander, waiting for his reaction. His silence stretched between them, thick and unreadable, his piercing gaze drilling into her. For the first time in years, she couldn’t decipher what he was thinking. She had expected anger. Maybe a confrontation, accusations. Instead, he did something she never saw coming. He smiled. Not the cold, sharp-edged smirk she had seen before. No. This was slow, almost lazy, as if he had unraveled some great truth.Linda hesitated, thrown off.“I must have worried you,” she murmured, masking her unease with a breathy chuckle. “You’ve been gone all night. What happened?”Alexander exhaled deeply, rubbing a hand through his hair. His posture, once stiff with controlled fury, now eased into something almost vulnerable.“I lost my temper,” he admitted, voice low, as if exhausted. “I’ve been chasing shadows, letting my emotions control me.”He took a step closer, and Linda held her breath. His tone had shifted—softer,

Alexander sat in the dimly lit study, eyes fixated on the laptop screen while Liam worked tirelessly beside him. Neither of them had slept.Sleep was a luxury they couldn’t afford—not when Ava was missing. The room was silent except for the sound of Liam’s fingers flying across the keyboard, searching through databases, cross-checking records, and digging deeper than ever before. Alexander’s mind, however, was in chaos. His chest was heavy, his thoughts dark.Ava had been acting off before she disappeared, and he had ignored it.Now, every interaction replayed in his head—her distant stares, her hesitation when she spoke, the way she avoided his touch. He should have paid more attention.Liam suddenly inhaled sharply, breaking the silence.“I found something,” he said, his voice tense.Alexander straightened, eyes sharp. “Talk.”Liam turned the laptop toward him. On the screen was a list of hotel logs, timestamps, and security reports.“The Mayfair Hotel,” Liam murmured. “She was ther

Did I make myself clear?"Linda’s voice rang through the grand living room, filled with arrogance. She sat comfortably on the luxurious couch, legs crossed, smirking as she addressed Monica, the housekeeper.Monica, an elderly woman who had been a part of the household for decades, stood still, her hands clasped together.
