Around an hour later, Rocky and my dad finally come back. I get up immediately.

"What happened?" I ask, studying them from head to toe. They both look normal... except Rocky. His knuckles are bloody, "What the hell did you do?"

"We tried to have a talk with Farrow, but he wasn’t open to hearing us. He was very uninterested… he was absentminded," my dad starts. He looks just as confused about Farrow as we’ve all been, "I don't have a good feeling about this, he was acting very strange."

"Yeah, he was all weird," Rocky says and lifts his knuckles to inspect them, "I punched him right in the kisser and he did nothing about it. This is the first time I’ve done that without him punching back. I guess he feels guilty… I don’t know, but he didn't even say shit other than: I'm sorry. And then his girlfriend came to kick us out. And by the way, that girl is weird-looking and creepy as fuck.”

Weird-looking, ha! I almost laugh, but I remember I’m an adult, so I control myself.

"What?" I squeak, Bobbie nods, "Bob, you're crazy." "Am not. You're not that old, you should have some fun," she says, offending me just a little with that 'not that old' comment, "Please? Dad can go suck a dick, I want you to have a new boyfriend." "Stop swearing so much," I scold her, knowing damn right it's Rocky's fault. He has said that Farrow 'can go suck a dick' multiple times lately, "And no. You're being a petty teenager. I'm a grown woman, I won't get with someone just to prove I don't miss my ex." "You should get with someone because he is with someone," she growls, not beating the petty teen allegations, "Really mom, I hate the way people look at you when we go out, like: oh, poor woman, she got dumped and now she's all alone." "Thanks, Bobbie, you always humble me," I mutter, but I chuckle, "You're crazy." "Nu-huh, not crazy. I’ve seriously discussed this with my friends and we all think the same. You're super gorgeous, you can totally get a new man. A better ma

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Helping Hand

"Stop it, Bobbie," I complain, my smile diminishing, because even though I hate Farrow now, I don't like it when she says those things. He's still her dad and once he pulls his head out of that woman's asshole, he'll come back to apologize to both of us for acting like a fucking prick, I'm sure of it. For the many, many years we've spent together, for everything my family has done for him, for giving him Bobbie, he loves me. Even if it's not in a romantic way. He might not love me as his wife anymore, but there is this nostalgic love. I'm sure because he's said it over and over again for years. Things like that don't change from a second to another just because you found your fated mate. I will give him time to get over the inicial excitement, I will give him a moment to apologize to me and my family and I'll even shake his hand and I'll act like everything is okay once that happens because he has been an amazing dad so far and I would hate it if Bobbie lost him. For the rest of

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Just A Bit Weird

I swear I try my best to hold it in. To be a mature woman and be the bigger person here, but I can’t. "God… what a fucking bitch! Bitch, bitch, bitch!” I finally blurt out while we’re waiting for Cameron’s car to arrive. He starts laughing, "There was no need for her to be such a bitch, right?" "Absolutely not. And they walked to our table only to be nasty. They were already sitting somewhere else until the girl noticed you," he says, surprising me, "I saw them coming in around fifteen minutes ago, that's why I was on a rush to leave. There was no reason for them to do all that, I'm very upset in your behalf." I shake my head in disbelief. I can't believe Farrow just let her do that, go there to antagonize me and try to embarrass me. "She was really quite a bitch," Cameron adds, making me smile again, "How are you feeling?" "Angry," I spit out, "Fucking angry. Like you said, there was absolutely no need to do that. The Farrow I know would never act like that, he hates awkwar

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Come to Terms

I have to admit, I absolutely love this little continuous sleepover set-up we have going on. After I tell them everything, we hang out for a little longer, I go check on Bobbie and then go to the guest room with Hope for a not-so-peaceful sleep, since she keeps kicking me randomly in the middle of the night. When I wake up the next morning... I feel like a new woman. I have a good morning text from Cameron, I didn't cry at all yesterday, not even when I ran into Farrow, I had a lot of fun and now I'm a bit hungover, which is fun. I haven't been actually hungover in a while, it reminds me of simpler times. Both me and Farrow went through a party phase a few years ago, back when Bobbie was a kid who didn't ask too many questions or complain about us disappearing. Once she started complaining around two years ago, we stopped. So, it didn't last that long, but it was crazy fun. Ever since then, I've been focused on being... a real adult. A good 24/7 mom. But at this point Bobbi

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   In Deep

"It must be very scary for you to even consider having sex with someone else since you've only been with one guy," Regina murmurs slowly as if she’s deep in thought, then she lifts a hand, "I'd like to propose something." "I'll allow it," I play around, sipping on my freshly refilled mimosa. "All of us have been single at some point except for you, but you used to go out with us anyway and often acted as our wingwoman," she starts, I nod, interested, "So how about we go out again, except we act as your wingwomen this time? Now we're all boring and locked up, but we can still get you some guys to dance with and kiss..." "Well, I've only been with Roland two months... I wouldn't mind dancing with someone else if you keep it a secret," Monica murmurs, laughing with Emily about that as I consider what Regina is saying. I've never been out as a single woman before, that's very much true. It must be a lot more fun. "Think about it, you've been married forever... and now you're goin

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Back When

“I guess I am,” I reply boldly and before I even understand what's going on, Peter drags all of us to the other side of the club where there's three more people I know from high school, but he doesn’t leave my side until he offers to go get more drinks. "I'm fucking wasted," I inform Hope, but she's just as wasted as me, I think. She laughs and nods before grabbing me so we can dance together, "Peter's acting like my date or something." "Yeah, he wants you bad," she says in my ear as we dance, "If he's making you uncomfortable I'll smash a bottle on his head, just say the word." "Don't," I quickly let out, knowing she’s fully capable of that, "He's nice, I just feel weird. I mean, they all know Farrow." "So? He sucks," she says and makes a fart noise before grabbing me, "Stop thinking about that piece of shit and have some fun like he's doing with Violet." That reminder sets my soul on fire again. He probably is having so much fun with her right now. He must be touching he

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Walk Of Shame

A few minutes later I have to get up in a rush and go look for a bathroom before I throw up all over my friends. Luckily, I make it to the toilet… but then I let out everything I consumed tonight. And it’s not an easy ordeal because my body decides it must cleanse itself from the inside out. I wake up the next morning in the bathroom floor. I have no idea when or why I fell asleep here, but I guess since I couldn't stop throwing up, I just gave up and decided it was safer to stay there. Now I'm dehydrated and hungover as fucking hell. I get up with a long whine and stumble out of the bathroom to go back to the room with my sister and my friend, both of them in their individual little mattresses. "Hope," I whine and I bend down to shake her, trying to wake her up, she just groans in annoyance, "Hope, I threw up. I feel bad." "Me too," she complains and slaps my hand away, but I'm not in the mood to be slapped right now, so I just whine and throw myself on top of her, "Get off!"

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Keep It Up

“Hello, there. Fancy meeting you here,” Farrow said as soon as he walked inside the shower uninvited, making me roll my eyes and chuckle, “What? Do you hate me?” “I simply wanted to have a real shower like normal people,” I answered, turning to him. He was already naked, “You better be here with pure intentions, Mister.” “Sky, you really are on a hate rampage this morning, I simply lost something here and I’m looking for it,” he said, walking closer until he stepped under the water, “Oh, damn, now I’m wet. I guess I’ll have to take a shower too.” “How convenient,” I laughed, grabbing soap so I could start washing him because… well, he was already there, looking hot as hell. And even though we had sex that morning, I was starting to get hot again, especially when he did the same thing and started soaping me up, “Farrow, we have to leave in ten minutes.” He groans when he remembers why we woke up so early on a Sunday morning. Breakfast date with Hope and Danny. “Okay, then no

I stand up and get closer to the mirror for a second to make sure there's no more cream on my face before rounding my bed to get to his. Farrow narrows his eyes at me and braces himself when I walk until I'm standing right in front of him. This time, he's forced to look up at me and I quite like how he looks like this. Shirtless, hair messy and a little scared of whatever I'm about to do. "If you think it's so easy to just say no..." I start, feeling like a villain when his eyes get wide like he’s terrified. "Don't do anything crazy right now, Skylar. I'm not a saint..." "Hush, this is a test. If you think saying no is so easy, just say no and send me away," I continue with a naughty smile that I can't help because he looks terribly nervous when I start taking off my old pajamas. Now I'm annoyed I chose to wear them, but the way his eyes fall to my legs when I drop the pants to the floor makes it all worth it.I proceeded with the shirt and then I'm standing in front of my e

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Got To Go

I sigh and roll my eyes as Farrow walks away. I hope he keeps that sassy energy all night because if he actually tries something, I'll give in. There's no point in denying it, I'll simply give in. And I’ll do it with a smile on my face. "At some point you'll have to realize you're dragging this. You’re dragging the unavoidable," Rocky says, making me return my eyes to him, "You need him right now, there is clearly a very mutual bond going on here." "Shh!" I let out, looking to make sure Farrow isn't still hanging around, "Shut up!” "Even for Farrow, this amount of sick obsession isn't normal. It's definitely him feeling the bond," Rocky continues, brushing Alex's hair back. The little boy is completely lost on Rocky's phone, not paying attention to us, "And that sort of thing doesn't happen just because, okay? You shouldn't ignore it or it'll just bring a lot of pain to both of you. Resentment looks very ugly on you, sis, let it go." "Easy for you to say," I whisper angril

"He won't be a step dad at all, Farrow. We're only casually dating. Very casually," I finally respond, avoiding looking at him. Farrow huffs and stays there, literally just standing behind and breathing over me for two more minutes until I'm done with the salad, then he walks behind me to the dinning table, "Oh, I forgot the napkins..." When I turn around, Farrow starts walking backwards so he can follow me to the kitchen again. This time, I have to close my eyes and stop a smile from growing. Stop it, Sky. Don’t smile at something so unhealthy and psychotic. This is sick behavior. Codependent behavior, like Rocky said. But... it's the bond, isn’t it? The compatibility bond because of the pregnancy. Farrow feels it too. His wolf feels it. "This is getting ridiculous," I scold him anyway, trying to reach for the napkins, but he grabs them first and then has the audacity to look at me as if he doesn't know what I mean, "You're acting like an anxiously attached pet. You haven't

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Surprised

"Cam is such a lame, isn't he, Bob?" Farrow continues a couple seconds later and his naughty hand falls ‘casually’ on my leg, trying to grab my thigh, but I grab his hand and put it back where it was. "Yeah, now that I think about it, he's kinda lame. And too old for you, Mom," Bobbie mutters, her Switch making noise while Farrow returns his fucking hand to my legs. And this is why I can’t trust this man. He always disrespects my boundaries and he laughs while doing so, making a game out of everything. "And he's not even that cute," Bobbie continues absentmindedly, "Dad is cuter." "Oh, she's so right," Farrow lets out in delight, bringing his hand back and trying to slip it in between my thighs this time. When I give him a warning growl, he gives me an offended look, "I'm just looking for a warm place to keep it. I'm freezing, it's so cold." "Stop," I say anyway. Because even though he's not being sexual, it's making me feel things and I don't need that. Not after the weir

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Pregnancy Brain

“Mom! Mom, can I buy this?” Bobbie appears in front of me all of a sudden, showing me a make-up kit with a lot of different things. I only blink at her, dazed, “It’s only eighty five dollars and I have the money to buy it myself! You know, the money I took from Dad the other day… oh, hello…” “Hi, Bobbie, it’s good to see you again,” Cam says and points to the lady in front of us, “This is my mom, Lucy.” “Hi, Ma’am,” Bobbie says politely and Lucy gives her a warm smile, “It’s good to see you too, Mr Randall. Uhm… Mom, are you done here? The guy is waiting for me to pay but I didn’t actually bring my money, so you have to pay for it right now and I’ll pay you back once we’re home. I promise I’ll actually pay you this time.” She’s being frantic and little rude, but she is giving me the out I need. I’ll gladly take it. “Alright. Go back to the stand, I’m right behind you,” I say and once she leaves, I turn to Lucy again, “I’m sorry, I have to leave. It was so nice to meet you, Luc

{ Sky } When Farrow comes back to the table with a smile on his face, I relax on my seat because I know whatever is going on with Bobbie is not going to be that bad. "She's okay, she'll come back soon," he says and returns to my side, instantly stealing my spoon to take a huge bite of our cake, "I told her about the ‘spoiling her’ pact, but don't tell her I told you I told her." I roll my eyes and nod, more than used to his useless secrecy when it comes to me and Bobbie. It’s useless because me and Bobbie tell each other everything. Just like they do when they’re alone. And just like me and Farrow do when we’re alone, so I don’t know why anyone even bothers. A couple of minutes later, Bobbie comes back to the table with her head held high and I can tell she’s been crying, but I don’t say anything as she returns to her seat next to Henry and whispers something to him. But once the kids have had their dessert as well, I tell Henry to stay with Farrow as he pays so I can have

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Second Chances

"That sounds like a solid plan. I'll live at home for another year and a half to help you with the twins, but then I'm totally moving out. Once you feel like you have it all handled on your own and no longer need me, I’m out… let's shake on it to make it official," I offer her my hand. She grabs it, sealing her fate, "You can't take it back now.” "Alright... but you're way too happy about it," she murmurs with narrowed eyes, "I got carried away last night, but that's not going to happen again, okay? Not ever." "Never, I promise," I lie with a smile on my face but I think she knows I don't mean it because she hits my stomach, smiling too. And since it doesn't look like Bobbie is going to come back anytime soon, I guess we’ll have to stay a bit longer, “Do you want dessert?“ “Yes,” she responds instantly, “Do you want to share the lava cake with me?” “Obviously, friend,” I respond with a smile. We’ve been sharing the lava cake for almost two decades, she doesn’t even have to ask

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Planning Ahead

When we get our food, Bobbie looks at the triple decker longingly, but that's what she gets for being fake and dumb about food when I’m sure Henry wouldn’t think twice about what she’s eating. Still, she's happily chatting with the boy about their friends at school, homework, her being grounded and the nintendo switch the boy wants to buy. It's very boring, but still annoyingly cute. So I start to think this is the perfect moment to let Bobbie know she's about to be a big sister, because she’s in a good mood. I have no idea how she's going to react. Not too long ago, back when she was still a sweet baby girl, she was very jealous. Any time there was another kid around and we paid attention to them, she would throw tantrums. Of course, she's changed now, so she might not care. Or she might care a lot, we don't know. Still, having Henry here was a good idea, Bobbie will definitely behave herself a lot better with him around. "So, Bobbie... we have something to tell you," I

  • My Ex-Husband Is My Mate   Old Dad Things

"So, when are we telling her? Before or after we eat?" I ask, face to face with Sky. I can tell she wants to wrap her legs around me like she normally would, except we're in public (and just friends, supposedly) so she stays like that, with her feet dangling on the air, and just puts her arms around my neck. She's so close to me, all I can think about is how much I want to fucking kiss her again. "I think later, I'm starving," she says and I start walking to the restaurant, "Just let me do most of the talking, yeah? And don't be rude to the boy." "I won't be. His mom is a nice lady, so I guess he can't be that bad," I murmur, making Sky move away to give me a surprised look, "That doesn't mean I suddenly like him. Just that maybe he's not that bad. Maybe." "Okay, that’s good enough," she says and just lets me carry her inside. When I walk past the bar, I see Moe there, cleaning the counters. I greet him, making Sky turn her head to him as well, "Hi, Moe!" "Hey, kids. I haven
