Emily was excited. She had just written her final exams and she was, well unofficially, a college graduate. It had been four years of predictable day to day activities. She wasn't your regular college goer who partied out every night like their lives depended on it. There were days that she would go all out wilding, but those days were rare and far apart. She loved it that way, she needed those good grades if she wanted to be a successful, strong and independent woman. Her family background didn't give her any of that on a platter of gold, which is why, with a scholarship at Cal U, she knew there was no way she was losing her focus to frequent frivolities.
It all finally paid off, she was about to graduate with a seemingly perfect G.P.A and she wanted to celebrate it. Her friend, Mia had taken her out with her to one of the most elite clubs in the state and by elite she knew she would come across Hollywood A-listers, billionaire heirs/ CEOs, Super models, world class Athletes and the likes. The club was used to having people of that status as regulars, which is why for averages like Emily, this place was some place she couldn't afford to buy a bottle of water in or even get an entry ticket to, unless she was willing to drain the little savings she managed to gather by working her ass off at the University library. But not Mia though, Mia rolled with those at the top of the money making hierarchy, her immediate older brother was some tech genius, although introverted, so it was Mia who did all of the socializing things on his behalf. "Feels so good to be out, after such a long month of intense readings" Mia said to Emily raising her voice high above the booming music in the clubhouse so Emily could hear her but although Mia was yelling at the top of her lungs, Emily could barely pick out her words and only nodded for the sake of it. "Sit here, I'll go get us some drinks" Mia said, nudging Emily towards an empty booth and squeezing herself though the crowd on the dancefloor towards the bar. Emily took a seat in the booth and waited for her friend, nodding her head continuously to the beat of the music, she was enjoying the sight before her, she wasn't even focused on the famous faces, she had never really been one to be concerned about celebrities, well unless they were Michelle Obama or Elon musk, she didn't give a fuck. Emily tried her best to dress up for the night, she didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb among this sea of famous and wealthy people who apparently saw sense of style as a big deal. She had borrowed one of Mia's shoes to go with her mini red dress. "Those are LV, limited editions. Don't go all Cinderella on me and lose them. Okay!" Mia had warned before handing the shoes over to her. They were black pumps with tiny heels, just the perfect match for her red dress. Her hair was long, waist long and jet black, so Emily had styled it in a high ponytail, making her look like she was a big shot model. "I look just like one of them" She had gasped when she took one final glance at herself in the mirror, she had accessorized her outfit with a black purse with tiny pearls as the handle. She was pretty and she knew it. Mia was taking too long to come around and Emily had gotten tired of waiting for her. Also, she had gotten tired of sitting alone in the booth. It made her feel like the less popular kid in middle school who was always alone because no one wanted to be his friend. Also, the awkward glances from the people around weren't helping. So she got up to her feet and went up the dance floor. "Time to bust some moves." She muttered under her breath as she straightened her dress and moved away from the booth. She could feel eyes threatening to peel off her skin as she made her way to the dance floor, she was hot and these men couldn't keep their gazes off her. She had an hourglass figure and the dress she had on did nothing to hide it, heck, she wasn't trying to hide it. She was a college graduate and she was out to celebrate her big win.The music hit her right where she wanted it to and she slowly swayed her hips to the beat increasing her pace as the music drifted from slow to fast pace, her entire body decided to act like it had a force of its own and just danced and danced on like nobody was watching. It didn't help that Mia joined her on the dancefloor holding two glasses of alcohol in her hands, she handed one over to Emily and she downed it in a few gulps and went back to dancing.Emily could say she danced for a while, say an hour? before she got tired and decided to go back to the booth and rest her feet. Mia was nowhere in sight and Emily knew that she was probably going to be alone for the rest of the night but that didn't matter, she was having so much fun.She pulled out a handkerchief from her purse and wiped off the sweat that had gathered between her brows, she closed her eyes for a quick second to live in the moment and when her eyes were shot open they were met by the most amazing blue eyes Emily had ever seen, it reminded her of the ocean when it was calm. "Where have you been my entire life?"His voice was sexily husky, it had a deep undertone to it, it was like he wasn't even putting in any efforts but yet it sounded like every word was carefully thought off.Emily opened her mouth to say a word but she closed it on a second thought, one side of her lips curved in a smile and she sat back fully in her seat, relaxing her muscles and looking at the man in front of her like she was some kind of unrealistic joke. Of course she knew who he was, she knew all the big names in the business world. His company was one of those she planned to apply to for a job after graduation. He was Aiden Baker of the Bakers Groups, one of the biggest names in the world of business. Last year, he was top of Forbes list of billionaires under thirty, and that was just his personal wealth and nothing like his company's wealth. sitting here in a booth with him trying to start a conversation with her felt so unreal that she had to sit back and see if he'll fade away, like the dream that he was, but he didn't.Instead he sat still, watching her every move, a sly smirk on his face and he looked like he was racking his brains for some other weird lines to use on her since the first one didn't cause the effect he desired. "Hi, I'm Aiden" He introduced himself, stretching his hand forward for a handshake. Emily scoffed at the thought of him thinking she didn't know who he was. "I'm Emily '' She replied, taking his handshake. That bare skin contact between them sent shivers down her spine, this man was a walking sexual god and he knew it, everything about him was so sensual even though he didn't try, it was like his nature to be extremely hot. Emily tried to squeeze her hand out his but he held on tighter than before. "Hey...." She whispered as his fingers traced her hand up to her elbows, she felt a tingling sensation as his fingers traced something unrecognizable on her skin... "I'm attracted to you," He said.Emily didn't know if it was the alcohol or was Aiden Baker of Baker group really asking her out.Her face squeezed in confusion and she stared cynically at the man in front of her.. "Wh...What?" she stammered. "Let's get out of here.."Emily didn't know if he was asking her or just commanding her to go with him either way, she didn't mind, she was down for this opportunity of a lifetime, it wasn't a normal occurrence to end up in the bed of a Billionaire CEO on the night of your final papers. "This is probably a bad idea, seeing as I plan to drop my resume at your company in the nearest future" She said, nervously scratching her head. She knew she wanted to go with him but she was trying to be reasonable. Wouldn't hooking up with Aiden jeopardize her chances of getting a job at his company? "I don't take no for an answer" He abruptly replied. He let go of her hands only to stretch it forward in a gentlemanly way, the other one pressed to his chest... "Emily, shall we?"He had that smile on his face, that smile that was hard to say no to.She struggled with her inner demons for a brief second before deciding YOLO!!She took Aiden's hands and he led her out of the clubhouse, away from the extremely loud music to the quiet parking lot.He didn't say a word to her as they walked towards his car, instead stealing glances at her at intervals and giving her a goofy smile which she returned more goofy than his was.He was drunk obviously and she wasn't but he was actually in control of his thought process same as her. 'It's a one night fling' Emily kept reminding herself as she stole glances at the stunning man walking side by side with her. 'I'm not going to regret this,' She assured herself as opened the door to his Rolls Royce for her to get in..................Fourteen days after her one night stand with Aiden Baker, she knew very well that he must have forgotten who the hell she was right by now, but she couldn't forget about their encounter, after all this pregnancy strip wasn't letting her do so, same as the previous two she had peed on.He was adamant on using protection that night but Emily was so sure she was on pills and also she wasn't infected with some kind of disease, she trusted that he wasn't too, both of them were so caught up in their libido that they ignored protection and went for each other skin to skin.Emily let out a devastated sigh as she paced left and right in her college bedroom. "This can't be real" She kept assuring herself, she really hoped it wasn't true, but after three pregnancy tests, she knew it was. This wasn't how she planned her life after college, not as a mom but as a working class woman aiming for greatness, having a child right now meant she had to take a pause on all of her dreams. "I'm screwed!" She cried.Should she call Aiden? Call? she doesn't even have his number, when she woke up in the hotel room the next morning, he was long gone, without even leaving a card. Such a gentleman! she sneered. But contacting him and telling him she was pregnant would paint her like a gold digger, it would seem like she intentionally tried to get pregnant to pin a baby on him. Although Aiden wasn't the typical CEO playboy that was common in fact he was rarely seen in public with women and that would make it hard for her to be seen as genuine and not some gold digger trying to pin a child on him, what if they call her child a bastard?Emily's heart was heavy, she felt like her world was spinning in circles and that she couldn't stop it.Emily was overwhelmed, she had stupidly thought her encounter with Aiden baker was nothing more than a one night stand and that even if she ever came in contact with him, he would not even spare her a second glance not to talk of recognizing her. It was for this reason that she had confidently submitted her job application to Baker’s group the week after their encounter.Staring at the mail inviting her for a physical interview at the company’s headquarters, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed at herself. There was no way Baker’s group was going to employ her if they found out that she was pregnant. Although a bump wasn’t obvious yet, she knew that a company like the Baker’s group would ask for all their prospective employees to go for a general wellness test before their employment is finalized and knowing how thorough these wellness tests were, Emily knew she wouldn’t be able to hide her pregnancy.“This is bad” she groaned, brokenhearted “This wasn’t sup
Aiden remembered the first time he had set his eyes on Emily, it was that night at the club, a day after he had been forced to attend Joan’s strange birthday party. He had woken up in Joan’s bed feeling off and very out of place. He had gone to the club right from work, because he needed a distraction and he found one, in the person of Emily. He couldn’t take his eyes off her from the moment she got on the dance-floor and began to move her body like she alone existed in the world and every other person was just furniture. He was hooked from watching her dance that he knew without a doubt that he wanted her in his bed that night and he was going to make it happen. He watched as she went back to her booth, her hips swaying gorgeously as she walked, she was still in the mood to dance. He watched as she wiped the sweat off her face as he approached her and made himself comfortable sitting opposite her.“Where have you been my entire life?” He asked her with a s
Zephyr's bright eyes sparkled as she dragged her small travel bag through the bustling airport. Her gaze flitted between the unfamiliar faces and the chaotic hum of voices around her. She and her mom, Emily, had just returned from a magical birthday trip to Disneyland, a whirlwind adventure that left Zephyr brimming with stories and memories. Emily walked a few steps behind, her expression a blend of exhaustion and quiet contentment. Meanwhile, Zephyr’s attention drifted. Staring at the floor as she walked, she found herself pondering an important question: were her second toes really longer than her big toes? Her thoughts were interrupted when she bumped into someone, jolting her back to the present. “Sorry!” Zephyr exclaimed, looking up at the man she had run into. He was tall, with a sharp, unreadable expression that made her hesitate. His dark eyes seemed to hold hers in place, and an odd chill swept over her, but she stood firm. “Excuse me, my mom says it’s rude to ignore p
