Chapter 72

The drive back to Brittany’s apartment was a reflective one for Cole, he was beginning to worry about his father wondering if his stepmother was up to something bad. When he got out of the car he drew in a deep breath and tuned his mind to only focus on Brittany. Everything else could wait.

He went to the apartment and started to get the place in order. He single-handedly tidied up the living room, brought in new curtains, and got some lamps. Then placed a humidifier on the small bookshelf sitting in the corner of the room. He then went to the kitchen and made some caramel popcorn. When he was done he checked the time there was still enough time to freshen so he went to the bathroom. He had taken off his mustache beard eyebrows and wig when he heard the door in the living room open.

His breathing stopped for a second, Brittany was back earlier than he expected. He panicked and wondered what to do next, he tried dropping things on the floor so Brittany would take a hint.
