Ego over life

"My Alpha" She knelt on her knees before she slightly bow foward to kiss his feet.

"Mira?" He said calmly before standing on his feet.

"Why are you eyes teary?" He asked in a tone filled with genuine concern.She was like a daughter to him.

Mira sobbed a little more before she tried to pull herself together. The Alpha King continue to worry about why his Beta daughter was in his chamber at this time of the night.

"Alpha Ray!" She began but her voice got lost in her son's.

"He is refusing to treat father." Mira report making the Alpha stand up from the edge of his bed where he sat boldly with his hands on his laps.

"That cannot be true Mira. He is complete dedicated to my beta's health." He tried to convince her after making her stand on her feet.

" Then tell me why he is refusing to cut the skin off after it got confirmed that it is only going to spread and decay foward!" She emphasized of the sybles of each of her words while she tried not to yell in front of the Alpha King. She was well disciplined and mannered. She also knew the level of privileged she had to be able to directly talk to the Alpha King whenever she wanted.

"Are the results back yet?" The Alpha King tried to clarify as he now sat Mira on his bed while he kept his palms on her shoulder.

"My Alpha, A girl from the Goku empire was able to run the test right here. She even had the nerve to send me a message that Papa wouldn't be able to survive the next three days. Alpha Ray had her thrown in the dungeon."

"But our labs are barely functional,"

"Exactly father, Exactly. I wonder how a human could make a fool out Mira by just mere treats." Alpha said as he walked into the conversation in his father's chamber.

"She said she could do it!" Mira argued back as she now faced the younger Alpha's direction.

"Father you really want me married to her? She doesn't even trust me!" Alpha Ray defended himself while Mira had a little o shape formed with her pink lips.

"This is not about our marriage Alpha Ray, I have Papa on the line here. Did you go bacy to see him? His body is running the temperature of a hot pot and he is refusing to say anything to anyone!"

"Now quiet you too!" The Alpha King grunted.

"Raymond the last time I checked, Mira here is your mate. Do you really feel compelled to marry her? Do you feel there's a better option? And yes, who is the girl from the Goku empire?" The Alpha King inquired while Alpha Ray rolled his eyes after turning around making sure his father didnot catch his expression.

"Take me to her. Right now!" The Alpha's commanded no one in particular amongst of the duo before he walked towards the exit of his chamber. Alpha Ray followed his father not before making an unimpressed face at Mira. Even his father was now interested in the view of a slave in captivity.

Jasmine finally was able to fall asleep after hours of crying only to be shaken up and roughly dragged. At this point she was really tired to argue or resist. She was ready for whatever faith had for her. Her injured arm stung of pain and it felt heavy. She began to get scared realizing that even outside the dungeon was dark. It was indeed night time and she was about to be used for a sacrifice.

"Here she is, My Alpha." The both guards that brought Jasmine along announced before they steppt back. Her hair was covering her face so she weakly brought her hands to clear the strands off her face. She tried to stand up but she felt her knees kicked from the back.

"Kneel." The voice roughly grunted from her back. She held her injured wrist on her belly to avoid crashing on it. The place was well lit with burning lamps and vintage decor. She huffed at their old fashioned way and the audacity they possessed.

"Speak! " A voice roared feets away in front of her. She raised her head to meet similar orbs but it wasn't Alpha Ray, this one was a older. He was seated on a throne in his black robe. The exposure of his hairy legs made her suggest that the man was only wearing a layer of clothing with a throne on his head and a cane on his hand.

She looked to his side and her eyes meet with Alpha Ray, who huffed before rolling his eyes at her. He was standing in a robe similar to his dad's made of animal skin and next to him was Mira.

Mira looked like she had been crying for hours with bags beneath her eyes. This oddly gave Jasmine a sense of satisfaction as she tried to hide a grin. They were not serious about saving the Beta.

"Speak what?" She let out an absent minded as she now stare at Alpha Ray.

"Manners!! where is she from?!" A voice roared from Jasmine's back.

Alpha Ray only rolled his eyes while Mira wished to get everything done already but with the new presence of Beta Marvin, things might not just go as simple as she thought. He was a second Beta to the Alpha King and was never in good terms with her Father. They acted like they were rivals in relationship with the Alpha King.

He raised Jasmine with his hands around her neck. She wriggled but she noticed wriggling out a grip only makes the situation more uncomfortable so she focused on using her tiny hands to ease the grip on her neck.

"Please stop, we need her!" Mira panicked trying to approach the duo but Alpha Ray held her back.

"Learn your manners!" Beta Marvin spelled out to her face before spitting to the side. He dropped her afterwards and she hit hard on the floor. These monsters were going to break all of her bones before they finally killed her!

Lifting herself from the ground to a knelling position, a tear rolled down from her left eyes as her lips shivered. If she knew this was going to happen she would never have interfered in the sick man's diagnosis. She thought she could benefit from helping them but they were all bastards over here!

"There was no power supply in the first place. Tell father you lied to Mira." Alpha Ray commanded in a very unbothered tone. This girl was crazy and was making up stories. There was no way one could identify an organism under a dead microscope with no possible power source.

"Saltwater." She answered, staring at the red carpet she was kneeling on.

Beta Marvin burst with laughter that echoed through the hall. The Alpha King was quiet curious and strangely curious about Jasmine's knowledge and potential. She was still young, they could control her and she would be off great use to them without her playing mind games.

"Don't you think that sounds stupid coming from a human from Goku empire, I mean you guys are science guru's right?" Alpha Ray challenge after Beta Marvin's laughter died down together with rendering a quick

apology to the Alpha.

"What is stupid is you not know one could get about 65 kilowatt from a solution of salt water and 10 watt is all I need to power your old model microscope."

The tension in the air was real now as Alpha Ray felt the skin on his neck rise while his father arched his brows at her. She surely did have a smart mouth.

One of the guards at her back kicked her at the back of her neck and that was what took Jasmine to finally pass out.

Mira panicked as she rushed to her but was stopped by the Alpha king. Alpha Ray on the other hand refuse to exchange glances with Beta Edward as he turned his back at the scene.

This girl was really tempering with his ego for making him feel stupid in front of his father. She just challenged his field of practice.

"Ray," His father called out.

"Do the cutting."

"No father. You don't know the risk it comes with. His organs are going to be exposed!" Alpha Ray argued.

"We could use the skin of some slaves to patch up, right?"

"Skin of a human to patch up your Beta, my King forgive me but that is a little to degrading." Beta Marvin's interfered.

"We use the skin of some wolves then. Ray save my Beta." The Alpha King declared.

"Its not even a flesh eating bacteria!"

"The Goku girl said it is!"

" You're believing what she says over your own son?! Is this how low you think of me?" He continued to argue with the Alpha King.

"It's not always about you, My father's health is on the line here!" Mira yelled. The arrogant heir was really getting on her nerves.

"I think I'd stand with Alpha Ray here," Beta Marvin declared.

"I mean what if there's really no use to cut the skin away? We just cut it because a Goku girl said so?"

"Stop talking like you care about my father and stay out of this!" Mira warned pointing a finger at Beta Marvin's face who was not impressed by her attitude at all.

"Yes and this is whom you want to get me married to?!" Alpha Ray demonstrated to his father.

"What!_"

"Everyone silence!" The Alpha King ordered enough of the argument.

"Ray, do the cutting and I'd give you a chance to defend why you don't want a marriage with your mate. I hope you make a right decision."

Mira opened her mouth slightly before nodding her head. The situation was so ridiculous! So now it either her or fathers health?!

Alpha stepped back away from his father before walking away.

He was definitely not going to let that Goku girl question his field of knowledge.
