Chapter 4 Harry's call

They shared a meal in silence the restaurant owner happen to be her boss old school friend  and they were introduced but Rachel keep her silence replying only when address.

They reach the office and Rachel transcribed the report she had taken during their site inspection, and presented it too her boss.

"Are you alright Miss Barnes?" Her boss asked 

"Pardon sir?" She heard him but she was confused to what he's referring to.

"I said, are you alright you seem off after we left the site. Are not you feeling well?" He repeated.

"I'm fine sir, I..." She wasn't able to finish her sentence when the doors burst open followed by a beautiful blonde dress in tight and revealing clothes  followed by the distress secretary.that she had to raise her brows. 

"I'm sorry  sir but she insisted on seeing you.!" Maude was obviously annoyed with the woman.

"Darling! You should tell your employees to stop hiding you!" The woman said pouting.

"Claudial what are you doing here? My secretary was under a strict order not to disturb  me for social matters." He replied casually.

"Oh Darling Cole, you must be upset after what happened the other night, let me make it up to you." The woman shamelessly kiss him on the lips while she was shocked she found herself disgusted for what she saw, the secretary pull her back  to get out of the room.

"You should get used to this uncouth women who barge in and out of his office seducing him."  The secretary said it bluntly that made Rachel wonder why  he allow such things, may he's one of hose men who enjoys the attention he get from women. Such a pity,  a handsome ma like that should put himself above this kind of women.

Rachel finish her work for the day and got ready to go when her phone rings without looking at the caller identification. " Hello?" 

 "Babe, Rachel!, Where are you I'm waiting outside your apartment  please talk to me. I will explain..." Harry said .

"Explain? Really Harry what is it now. You were seduce by a starlet to gain favours on your next project, how many times did you told me that pack of lies before. But this time it's my sister you're shacking up to! My sister we are talking about. My twin sister for god sake! Get lost Harry don't bother me anymore as long as I'm concern we are over!" She hang the phone  and mute the volume. As she turn around she saw her boss looking at her with a strange look at his face.

"I know it's your first day! You might be in a hurry to go home but can you stay for a while there are things I have to go over with you.  You may report late tomorrow Miss Barnes." He said. Rachel wondered how long he was there or how much he had heard about her conversation at the phone.

" It's alright sir, it's one of my job description, I was about to ask you if you still need me, I mean my service, Oh! I mean..." Rachel rattled with her reasoning, after witnessing how that woman seduce her boss she was careful not to give the same connotations.

It's alright, I know what you mean." He smiled.

Rachel stayed in the office for almost two hours going over some work he wanted to finish.  "What about dinner Miss Barnes, aren't you hungry?" 

"No it's alright sir, I'm not hungry, besides it's still early  for dinner I just   want to go home and stretch my legs." She said not wanting to spend more time with her boss, because she get conciuos with the looks he gives her when she is not looking, but she is aware because of the shadows on the screen of the computer.

"Ok, I'll take you home then." He offered.

"There is no need sir.I..." she stop  she recalled that she told Phil that she will take the cab, for him to rest a bit before going to his next shift. Phil is working extra jobs trying to earn more before his wife Allyson gave birth.

"I insist Miss Barnes!" 

"Ok Thank you Boss."

When they reach the road entrance to her apartment she told him to drop her at the roadside. Which he obliged and she walk the distance going to her apartment When someone grab her from behind, thinking it was Angus, she immediately gave him a tug at his side using her elbow which surprise her assailant. She immediately turn and gave him a kick in between his legs. 

She was shocked, when she saw the face of her attacker turn  crimson from bearing the pain.

"What are you doing  grabbing me like that Harry!" She had mixed emotions looking at her ex-boyfriend, jumping up and down to ease the pain while trying to steady his breathing.

"I... I was... waiting for you...to come  home... He was stuttering in pain. "Goodness Rach, you are destroying the future of my generation." Harry continued in between breath.

"I don't think that would be a problem you have enough already to last you a lifetime." She said furiously.

"Rachel babe let's talk this over,  you know me you are the only one constant in my life. Those girls could come and go but you, you are the one and only that I love. You know that!" He tried to explained.

"Enough of your lies Harry , go back to your starlets. I don't know why I put up with your philandering ways before, and now my own sister you're such an animal!" She hurled insults at him while trying her best not to spill the tears that are forming in her eyes.

"Babe you know that women come to me  to help their careers in exchange for those favours,  it meant nothing to me ." He reasoned out.

"You're a despicable man whore! And my sister do you need to get advantage with her too?" Rachel accused.

"Babe she came to me an offer I can hardly refuse. Besides it's your fault you and puritanical ways. You didn't give me what I need I am a man with needs." He turn the tables on her.

"Now it's my fault not giving in to your animal instincts. How long have you been cheating on me with my sister? For her to get pregnant!" She dreaded the answer, but she was shocked altogether from his reply.

"It's not mine! Your sister is  a slut!" Rachel cannot  bear the hurt with what he said about her sister. She slapped him.unable to control her temper.

"You beast!  How dare you accused my sister of sleeping around?"

"Your sister is no saint Rach, before me she had countless of one night stand to gain  advancement to her career."He continue to malign her sister. 

Rachel was shocked with embarrassment she wasn't able to control her tears from falling. Harry took the opportunity to hold  her but she push him. "Let me go! You beast!"

"The lady said let her go!" Both of them looked from where the voice is coming.
