Laura's POV:

"Who's this idiot?" He yelled at her, his voice sounding like knives. "You wronged and you have the audacity to spit rubbish at Caesar?"

"I said nothing wrong," Audrey fired back, but you could tell her voice was croaked. Sweat beads were forming on her forehead. "You're just terribly rude and I don't like it, Reiner!"

"You dare call me rude?" Reiner bawled, banging his fist on his desk, upsetting the files and documents piled on each other.  "You're rude to Caesar. You've got no idea who I am. I'll send you and your ancestors to the pit of hell where you came from, bitch. You've got no shame and respect. You've got a fucking smelling pussy you left unwashed for three good days!"

I felt chill rush through me. Reiner's got a cursed tongue if you know what I mean. He knows where to strike to make you cry.

"I won't stand for this," Audrey stood up sharply, her back stiff with rage and her voice shrieking loud and clear. "You're the most horrible man I've ever dated. Exhibiting toxic masculinity. Who the hell raised an animal like you, huh?!"

I shut my eyes, covering my face with my clipboard. Your worse mistake with Reiner is getting into a heated argument with him. You'd never win. The more you argue with him the more he brings up the heat until he crushes your bones and burns you to ashes.

Reiner's nostrils flared like a hawk. He reached his hand out to Audrey, grabbed her collar and jerked her closer to his face. His fiery red eyes caused Audrey to gulp a ball of saliva down her throat.

In that instant, I could tell by mere looking at her that she knew, she messed up.

"You have no idea who I am," Reiner said through clenched teeth. "I am CAESAR. Tell that to your other sluts when you hold your unreasonable meetings. You are dead, Audrey. Dead. You shall know no peace and forever be cursed. You've got ten minutes. Ten fucking minutes to get your sorry ass out of my sight and my island. You're henceforth banned from Sun island! Surprised? That's right, bitch. Forever you shall hear of Sun island but never set foot here. Your great grand father will regret this day, bitch. I am CAESAR. Don't ever forget my name, hoe. Now get the hell out of my sight!"

He released her by roughly pushing her away with the shove of his hand then sat back and brought out a bottle of Valentino Red, pouring himself a drink while he completely ignored Audrey as if she wasn't standing before him.

Tears welled up in Audrey's eyes. Her spirit was shattered to pieces and her heart minced to bits by Reiner. Crying uncontrollably, she snatched up her purse and ran out of the office, looking like a defeated wet hen.

I stood by the doorway, watching her leave. She was crushed beyond repair. I doubt she'd ever recover from Reiner's curses.

Well it's official. Reiner and Audrey have finally broken up. What a way to start up the week. It must be pleasing for Reiner though, seeing how unbothered he was about their crashed relationship.

I've always known this relationship wasn't gonna last. It was Audrey who took her affair with Reiner too serious. If she knew any better, she would've known the last thing Reiner wanted was commitment. He's that incorrigible rake who gets any woman he wants and when he wants to. Once he's gotten what he wants, he loses interests immediately.

REINER CAESAR. If you live in Sun island, the mention of the name CAESAR strikes fear and respect in the hearts of every man with a living soul in him. Caesar is undeniably that man. The man who had it all: Money, Power, Cars, Fame and the world in his palms.

He's popularly known as Caesar but his close associates and friends addressed him by his first name, Reiner.

I stood upright, my clipboard pressed against my chest as I watch Reiner took a sip from his glass.

Those sky blue eyes of his darted up to me and lingered. "Yeah, what do you want, Laura?"

I swallowed. It's nerve wrecking standing before Reiner. He's the most intimidating man I've ever met.

Sad to say but I work for him.

"Your meeting with the island's Bank manager, sir. It's scheduled for tonight at eight o'clock," I announced, toning down the fear in my voice.

How I wished I hadn't walked right into his big office while he and Audrey were after each other's neck but Reiner was very strict about his daily schedules. For a man as busy as he was, he tends to forget things a lot. My job was to remind him about his schedules at all times.

Reiner regarded me for a while as though I spoke in French. His gaze held mine so steadily, my eyes gave ground first. Then he grunted.

"Cancel it. Reschedule that meeting for tomorrow. I've got plans for tonight. Now get out of my sight."

He was in a foul mood, all right. When he's like this, he drinks and curses at everyone. I was glad to quietly leave his office.

Back behind my desk, I placed a call over to the island's bank manager and had the meeting scheduled. While I was at it, Jerry's call came in.

I stared at my iPhone as it rang noisily on my desk for as long as I can. I didn't want to answer that call.

Jerry was my fiance. We had a big fight a couple of weeks ago and haven't spoken to each other. It was supposed to be a normal couple fight but this one was way out of line.

I had found a woman's bra underneath our bed in the bedroom some weeks ago but I kept mute about it. Days later, it was a strand of brown hair on the pillow.

Jerry and I had dark hairs. Which only meant one thing. He had been cheating on me. I confronted him after I saw a smear of lipstick on his collar days later but the bastard denied all my accusations. He was a bad liar and he knew it but he was such a sweet talker.

The trouble with me is that I loved Jerry so much. I hated to think he cheated on me but there were way too many red flags blaring in my face. I just couldn't accept reality.

So I took a few of my stuffs and left home and lodged in a hotel. I felt I needed some time to clear my head.

But to add to all my problems, I still had to come to work everyday to face Reiner. My boss wasn't making my life any easier because he worked me to death. These days I work way into the night and retire home late.

Jerry called six times but I ignored his calls. He sent three text messages which I had no intentions of responding either.

I glanced at my wrist watch and was surprised at how late it was. My job for today was done. Time to head out.

As I cleared my desk, the telephone rang.  Reaching out I gripped the handle and placed it over my ears.

"Hello?"

"Is everyone gone?" Reiner's voice came softly to my ears.

I stiffened. Reiner's voice was usually hard and deep and masculine but right this moment, it was soft. He had never used such a low tone on me ever since I began working for him.

"Yes, Caesar," I responded. I address him as Caeser because that's how he loved being addressed. "The workers are gone. Only the security guards on patrol are on duty. Aside them, we're the only ones in the building."

Reiner groaned and I thought I heard him chuckled. "Come right back into my office now."

"But Caesar," I twisted my hand to stared at my watch. "It's getting really late. I can't—"

"Are you mad?" He barked at me through the line. "You do as I say. Be in my office this instance. You've got sixty seconds."

He hung up.

Curse you, you macho egotistical son of a bitch! I swore as I dropped the receiver and hurried back to his office.

Reiner's office stenched of strong alcohol. I was shocked to find an empty bottle of Valentino Red lying on the floor.

That doesn't look good. Definitely not good. Valentino red has a high alcohol percentage. If Reiner had emptied this bottle, it could only mean one thing.

He's drunk.

I didn't like what I was seeing one bit. Reiner can't hold his liquor well. Once he hits the bottle, he's an uncontrollable animal.

The office was in semi-darkness except for the moon light ray coming from the window. My eyes couldn't see quite well in the semi darkness. I've got a really poor sight especially in the dark which was probably the reason why I couldn't find Reiner anywhere.

"Um... Caesar?" I gulped, uneasily adjusting my spectacles while I walked further into the office. "You called?"

No answer. No Caesar either.

Damnit. Where the hell is he?

Suddenly I heard a swift movement and before I knew it, two strong arms wrapped around my waist and drew me roughly to a man's crotch which was hard with a boner.

I gasped and was about screaming when another hand shot out of the darkness and shut my mouth, trapping my scream down my throat.

Creepy spider legs crawled up my spine and cold sweats broke out of my skin as I stood transfixed against the stranger's body. I was so shocked I couldn't even struggle nor fight back.

My breath came in fast causing my heart to skip a beat. My heart banged so hard against my ribs, it came as the only sound that echoed in the office.

The man behind me brought his face to my ears and whispered down my neck. His hot breath stank of Valentino Red.

"Laura," his soft voice made me shudder. "STRIP."

My eyes widened. I mumbled against his hand which closed over my mouth, "CAESAR?!"

Laura's POV:The next day, I sat behind my desk, answering calls and liaising with clients competently. Reiner hadn't arrived at work yet. He was late. This was a big relief to me because it made my job way more easier. It took me a great deal of effort to prepare for work and leave my hotel suite. It also took me a humongous resolve to seat down behind my desk and pretend to work as my usual self. I had arrived much earlier than Reiner so I could arrange his office and draft out his schedules for the day. I also took the extra efforts to read his mails and sort out the most pressing message he needed to reply to. My goal was to avoid frequenting his office throughout today. I didn't want Reiner to call me into his office over minor things. I took care of the big tasks so he would get himself busy with the little ones.So far so good, I didn't see any reason why I should walk into his office for the rest of the day. This office has become the most dreadful place in my entire life

Laura's POV:Jerry was rushed to the hospital immediately. Everything had happened so fast it left me with nothing to think about. All I was worried about was Jerry. Reiner's punch had socked the life out of him, finishing him for good. Luckily for Jerry, he survived Reiner's devastating left hook but it left him with little or no energy to stand up. I had completely forgotten Reiner did boxing every day as part of his morning routine before he gets down to work. He even had a big boxing ring built in Sun island where he hosts fights every Friday nights as another major source of cash revenue in the sector of sports and entertainment. Even though Reiner, a middle weight holder, isn't ready to make a career out of boxing, he makes a great deal of money out of his Friday night boxing fights that he hosts on the island. As I waited in the waiting room, my mind went to work on various thoughts that suffocated me inside. Reiner hadn't even given Jerry a glance. Instead he yelled at

Reiner's POV:"....Sign the marriage contract or you're fired!"I leaned back in my seat and waited for her next line of action. Up until now, I had done nothing but set-up the perfect worse case scenario if she chose not to sign the contract. Laura was conflicted inside. This was a tough decision for her to make. From where I sat, I saw that her hands were far from steady. "What the hell are you waiting for?" I thundered, causing her to quiver. "I-I need some time to think about this, Caesar. This...this is too sudden," she replied, her voice croaked. I leaned forward at her and pointed my index finger at her. "If there's one thing I hate more than anything is someone who wastes my goddamn time. I've got a busy schedule today so I'd like to get this out of the way. You were given two options, Laura. Choose wisely and quickly."Laura glanced down at the marriage contract and the retrenchment letter, sweat beads building up on her face. What a tight spot to be in but that's why I

Aside his swollen busted jaws, Jerry seemed alright. He was allowed to go home whenever he wants. Jerry turned to me and seeing my quiet demeanor, he cursed at me, "You filthy whore. To think your boss could punch me in the face because of you. Seems my intuition was correct. • My Contracted Wife Don't Run Away   Stay away from Laura

Reiner's POV:The hallway echoed with my footsteps as I marched towards the end of the hall where Hank and the others were waiting. My hands were balled into fists and my teeth were clenched. If there was one thing I hate, is another man messing with my toys. I see women as nothing but toys. They are either useful to my benefits or are useless and fit to be discharged and replaced. Laura was not just any toy but my pawn. As low ranked as a pawn might seem, it's values are very important in the game of chess. Once it advances to the end of the enemies territory, it can be promoted to a powerful piece. Laura is a very valuable piece to me. Any man who's got the guts to hurt her is a dead man. I'll make him regret ever laying a finger on her. The two bodyguards guarding the entrance bowed and opened the door into the dark room. I ordered them to wait behind while I walked right in. Since Greene wanted me to test her, to see if she was truly the woman I thought she was, I had come prepared with a plot in mind. I challenged him to try to convince her to divorce me and marry him instead. That was his role. Greene was taken aback by my boldness, but I could tell he couldn't resist the opportunity to show his skills.I then reminded him of the eight hundred million dollars he had placed on the bet and Greene couldn't help but laugh. Reiner's POV: Reiner," Laura began, her voice suddenly hardening. "Tell me what is going on."I sat across from Laura in a small bamboo cabin by the beach. The warm air and the sound of the rain tapping against the roof set a calming ambiance as we were about to enjoy the dinner for two I had prepared. The table was set with a crisp white tablecloth and adorned with a vase of tropical flowers. Our plates were filled with grilled seafood and vegetables, paired with a smooth red wine. The romantic mood was palpable, as the soft light from the candles cast a warm glow over the room.I took a deep breath and reached across the table to take Laura's hand. "Laura, there's something I need to tell you," I began. "I know this may come as a surprise, but I have a confession to make."Laura's eyes lit up with expectation, and she leaned forward, eager to hear what I had to say. I took a moment to gather my thoughts, trying to find the right words to say what I needed to say."Laura, I've b

I must see Greene. When I reached the penthouse, the guards outside stopped me, asking who I was. This wasn't the time for this. These Meatheads should get out of my way. But I decide to play it cool else they might think I'm some psychopath. I took a deep breath and told them my name, and demanded to see Greene. At first they were hesitatant but then they made a call to their boss and I could hear him yelling at them to let me in.The guards reluctantly led me to Greene's suite, and left me alone in the room. As I waited, I heard a sound coming from the bathroom. Before I knew it, Greene stepped out of the shower, wearing nothing but a bathrobe. I felt uncomfortable and guilty, as a married woman, being in such close proximity to another man."Well, well, well," Greene grinned lustfully at me.

It had been a while since we went out together, and I was looking forward to some alone time with my husband."Laura, get dressed, I'm taking you out," Reiner said with a smile. I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my stomach at the thought of getting dressed up and going out with my husband.I walked to my closet and picked out my favorite dress. It was a beautiful, red, off-the-shoulder dress that hugged my curves in all the right places. I paired it with a pair of strappy heels and some simple jewelry. As I got ready, I couldn't help but think about the hardships our family was facing.
