Chapter 4

Agatha's pov

The next day at work I was summoned to Mr Blackwell's office

When I arrived he wasn't alone, there was a man seated opposite him that I assumed was his lawyer

"Miss Evans welcome This is my lawyer, Mr. Decker," he says "It's nice to meet you," Mr. Decker says extending his hand for a shake

I take it "Same here," I say "This is the contract and you are to sign here," he says showing me where I should put my signature

I swallow This is it I'm getting married I take the pen and sign when the door opens and a man who looks a little familiar walks in with another man who looks like a minister

His face lights up immediately when he sees me "Hi you must be Agatha my future sister in law" he says extending his hand I shake him looking at Mr. Blackwell in confusion

He sighs, and shakes his head "Miss Evans my brother Reed" he simply says I look back at the man no wonder he looks familiar

"It's nice to meet you," I say "The pleasure is mine," he says raising my hand and kissing it I blush at the action

I hear a growl and turn back to see Mr. Blackwell glaring at Reed I immediately drop my hand and Reed smirks finding the situation amusing

"Shall we proceed?" the minister asks "Yes" Mr. Blackwell replies and he proceeds to wed us there in the office, We exchange rings which were provided by Reed

I can't believe I'm now Mrs. Blackwell I look at the ring on my hand and swallow "We can change it if you want" Mr. Blackwell says having noticed my look

"No it's alright sir," I say "You can call me Cade," he says I swallow "Okay c...Cade" I let out

I suddenly feel conscious of the fact that we're alone in his office, Reed had left with the minister and the lawyer followed shortly after

"uhm can I go back to work? I ask "Actually I was going to discuss that with you," he says and I wonder what he's about to say

"You'll have to stop working for the duration of this marriage," he says "What but what am I going to do then? I ask

"We can find other things you can do to pass the time," he says already going back to his computer

I nod It's just for one year "Do I get my job back after? I ask "You know you're getting a lot of money out of this right" he asks looking at me I nod "I don't think you'll need to have this job after the one-year is over but if you still do I'll get you a better position" he states

"Okay, sir…I mean Cade" I correct myself "I'll assign someone to help you move your things and Bosley will drive you home," he tells me

I nod overwhelmed with all these changes, I leave his office and make my way to the desk and see Cecily

"Hey Agy what's up Fleming called me and said I had to cover for now What's happening? she asks

I try to look for a possible explanation I can give her but come up empty and at that moment Cade comes towards us "Agatha shall we Bosley is here" Her eyes find the ring on my finger and the one on cades finger she gives me a shocked stare but I avoid the question in her eyes and follow cade outside

I just know the whole hotel will be buzzing with the news soon, As soon as we step out camera flashes go off and I freeze out of shock as questions are asked

"Agatha come on," Cade says placing his hand on the small of my back and guiding me toward the car, opening it, and getting in after me

"shit," he says "Are you okay," he asks checking to see if I was hurt "I'm fine," I say dazedly

My phone goes off and I go to check it but cades hand covers mine "I suggest you stay off your phone for a while" he says

I open my mouth to ask why but my phone rings and I see that it's Claire " I have to take this it's my best friend"

"Agy what is happening, you're all over the news, is it true? Are you married? She asks once I answer

"Claire calm down," I say rubbing my head "I can't calm down I just heard my best friend is married and I wasn't invited" she yells

I sigh exhausted "I'll explain later Claire I promise," I tell her "Okay take care of yourself," she says

"I'm sorry I should have warned you about the press," Cade says "It's alright," I say "Actually will this be a problem for my sister" I ask concerned

"I'll take care of it don't worry" he assures me I nod, facing the window, I stare at the buildings as we drive past, and before I know it I fall asleep

I feel a hand on my shoulder shaking me "Miss Evans we're here" I wake up to see Bosley above me "I'm sorry I fell asleep"

He smiles "That's alright Miss Evans," he says "Please call me agy….where's Cade? I ask noticing his absence in the car

"Mr Blackwell had issues to attend to" he responds I nod making my way out of the car

We make our way into the building and go to the elevator "Uhm Bosley what floor is Cade's apartment located on? I ask

"The penthouse miss" he answers, I swallow would now be a great time to inform him that I'm scared of heights.
