Floating Clouds

Birds were singing outside the window, and even though Crystal was a bit distant in her sleep, she could hear them. She turned to her other side, sunlight flashed on her face and she shut her eyes even tighter. A small but sharp pain builds in her head, and she whimpers softly.

“Are you awake?” She heard Kayden’s voice and her eyes fluttered open immediately; he was sitting on the edge of her bed and he was dressed in his pajamas, his blond hair casually tousled over his eyes and his bedroom eyes stared down at her with no emotion in them.

“K-K-Kayden,” she stuttered as she sat up abruptly, She winced slightly because it was a bad idea, getting up so suddenly when she had signs of a migraine. “Why are you here?”

“You don’t remember?” He asked and almost immediately the door opened and Petra came in, holding a tray in hand, her weary eyes fell on Crystal and she smiled.
