Rowan's Lover!

Ruby POV

The meeting ended after thirty minutes and I was the first person to leave the conference room. It was stuffy for no reason even if it was one of the largest rooms in the company.

My hand was on my chest, I could hear my heart racing rapidly. He knew I was working here.

I suddenly remembered that night, how I groped his chest and spent the night with him.

"Fuck, I want to die" I grumbled and pushed the elevator button.

"Who's dying?" A voice sounded from behind.

It's Rowan again. Why is he suddenly stalking me? Maybe it's too early to say that. We are both heading to the eleventh floor. The elevator door opened and we both walked in.

I silently folded my hands while Rowan stood beside me.

"Have you known our boss before? He kept on looking at you" He asked and I gave him no response. I made sure he can't even hear me breathing.

"I feel like you're avoiding me because of that night, Ruby" he turned to look at me.

"Are we supposed to be buddies now that we've broken up?" I furrowed my eyebrows, giving him a confused look.

"At least, we could be friends" he spread his hands. This fucking asshole. I want to punch a hole on his face.

But why not? Of course, we can be friends.

I smiled weirdly at him and nodded once.

"Sure, we could be friends" The door dinged again and I left without saying another word.

The office was busy as usual. I pulled my chair and sat in front of my desk. I groaned softly and placed my head on the desk.

"Hey, what's wrong? Did that asshole bully you? I saw you two come out from the elevator together" Maya whispered, clenching her fist like she would beat him up if I say yes.

"He said he wants to be friends"

"Well, fuck him and his friendship. Anyway, tell me, how was the boss? Is he hot? I heard he was... I'm sure he must be sexy too and..."

Why is Maya talking about sexy? I rumpled a sheet of A4 paper and shoved it into her mouth.

"Not now, Maya. Please, I just want to disappear" I grabbed my hair.

"What happened! Tell me!" She squealed like ab excited school girl.

I looked around. The office was filled up and was busy, still I can't gossip with her. It'll be a problem if someone hears us.

"Chat?"

"Sure, let's do that!"

We went to our private chat on the computer screen and began.

Maya: Tell me, what happened?

Me: It's about the boss. Don't freak out when I tell you.

Maya: Trust me, I'm not going to freak out.

I'm not going to trust her on that but, I sent the message anyway.

Me: He's the man from that night.

Suddenly, I heard Maya scream from the desk close to me. I flinched and groaned in frustration.

Fuck! I knew she was going to freak out. Her head poked above the divider, as she closed her mouth in shock. Behind that hand, I'm sure she's smiling.

"Girl, you're in big trouble"

"Don't remind me about it please..." I groaned.

Maya diverted her gaze from me and frowned. Someone was coming. Someone she doesn't like.

"Hi Ruby"

The petite looking princess arrived at my desk. I removed our chat from the screen so she won't look at my conversation with Maya.

"What do you want princess?" Maya asked.

"I came to speak with Ruby" she said, fidgeting. I'm sure she came here for another reason, that's how Abigail has always been.

Abigail Martins. Well, I've known her since last year in highschool, even before I met Rowan. She was the sweetest kind of poison I knew.

She claimed to be very close to me, but she's only out to ruin me. She's like the devil in my life. She's able to charm people with her beautiful smile and innocent looking face, but not me and Maya.

"I'm sorry, Ruby" she apologised for what I don't know of. That's how she always starts.

"Sorry for what? You didn't do anything bad to me?" I said, smiling. Even if she did, I better not get angry at her. All attention would be on us and she'll find a way to turn everything around to make me the villain.

She faked a gasp and looked around childishly.

"He didn't tell you yet?" She asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows. This must be about Rowan. I'm just going to pretend to be clueless.

Rowan and I started dating from the first year in college but before that, I had a boyfriend which I dated for just a year. We broke up because he fell in love with Abigail and said I was violence. She must have said the same words to Rowan for him to break up with me.

"Who are you talking about, Abby?" I also gasped, pretending to be clueless.

"Rowan and I... Started dating last month. He told me not to tell you, but I'm going to feel guilty if I don't" She said and started crying.

Maya felt so disgusted that she squeezed her face. I tried not to laugh at how ugly she looked.

To think that Rowan even cheated on me first before breaking up with me. I felt sad at first but now, I'm upset.

Abby's tears brought everyone's attention to my desk. They started looking at me with anger in their eyes. Of course, red haired girls are always the bad ones.

That's the same way she behaved at the cafe I worked before entering college. She cried in front of everyone as she revealed her relationship with my ex boyfriend. Then I was foolish to yell at her.

But now is different.

"It's fine. If you love him, go ahead" I said loud enough for everyone to hear my voice. She suddenly stopped crying and looked around.

"Are..are you sure?!" She whispered.

"It's fine. Besides, we've broken up. Since Rowan and I are no longer together, you can go ahead and date him" I said, my voice getting even louder. Everyone started to gossip, calling Abigail's name. She clenched her fist angrily and walked away.

I turned to Maya and gave her a high five.

"Did you see her face?"

"She deserves that. I'm not going to watch her ruin my life. She'll have to pay for what she did to me, together with that son of a bitch!"

"Are you talking about me?"

I turned my neck and saw that man from...no, my boss's face close to mine. I jerked up from my seat and leaned on my desk.

When did he come in? Where is Maya? Did she ditch me again? I'll fucking kill that girl!

Besides, why did he come here? Is he going to fire me for sleeping with him?
