2024-10-29 19:42:56“Good morning sunshine”. I greeted myself, it’s Monday and it’s going to be a long day. I start my morning routine and headed to the office to prepare for my meeting.
At the elevator
“Wait”. I heard someone shout when the elevator going to close so I hold the open button to wait for the person.
“Sorry, thank you for holding it up”. The person said that I’m not familiar with it. He step inside and another person showed up, it surprised me a little it was my hot neighbor, Isaac.
“Good morning Bettany”. Isaac greeted me with a smile
“Good morning”, I shyly greeted back. I didn’t expect I will bump into him again this morning.
“Are you heading to work? He asked plastering his full smile.
“Yes, I’m on my way”, he has these perfect white pearl teeth that showed when he smiled, what an amazing morning I thought.
“Are you heading somewhere? I asked him.
“I’m heading to work as well and this is my assistant Jeff he just arrived yesterday night”, Jeff this is Ms. Bettany Wright my neighbor”. He introduced.
“Hi, nice meeting you Ms. Wright”, Jeff offered his hands.
“Nice meeting you Jeff and please call me Bettany”, accepting his hands.
After we shake hands, the elevator stop in the basement, and the door opened. I went out first and said my goodbyes and headed to my car.

JONES PUBLISHING
I looked up our company name and I get confused for a while but I realized yes, it’s Jones from now on. We have new CEO now and Mr. Smith will not be around anymore. I’m looking forward to this new CEO hoping that he will be good and kind like Mr. Smith.
“Good morning Mr. Ben” I greeted our guard.
“Good morning Ms. Wright”. He greeted back.
I’m heading to my office when my assistant greeted me and come to me to brief me on my schedule for the day.
“Good morning Bett your schedule today”, she started listing my schedule while we walk to my office.
“Okay thanks, Carol, just please remind me 10 minutes before this all-directors meeting for this morning. And can you bring me some coffee? While smiling at her.
“Noted Bett.

After a while.
“Bett it’s time for your meeting with all the directors”, Carol reminded me on time.
“Okay just give me a sec”. I settled the things that I will be needing at the meeting and headed out.

Conference Meeting
“Good morning everyone”, I greeted all the directors who is present.
I heard all of them discussing who will be our CEO, some of them saying that they already saw and meet him down at our company. But here I am still clueless about who our new CEO will be. I’m still imagining his features would be like that, he will be tall, dark, and handsome with full of charisma, smiles showing with his perfect pearl white teeth. That most of the ladies will be worshipping him, like our former CEO but not only his looks, he has this brainy side as well. And one person flashed into my mind “ISAAC”. Tall, dark, and handsome, especially flashing his perfect and beautiful smile. Shaking my head, why did I think of him? Oh, Bettany clear your mind. This is not a good sign. He is just your neighbor nothing else.
While I’m still in my thoughts the door opened...

“Good morning everyone”, a low voice echoed in the conference room.
The voice is so familiar, I looked up and my mouth hung open I am really surprised at what I saw. I couldn't avoid his confused eyes. I stared back at him with shock visible on my face. Am I dreaming? Or do I have poor sight? I blinked my eyes many times but the person in front of us is still the same. I am not dreaming our new CEO is ISAAC, my neighbor the one on my mind just now. Oh, crap is it just coincidence or just our fate? “No, no, don’t overthink B it’s just coincidence it means nothing”. Shaking my head and went back to my work mode face.
“Good morning Mr. Jones”, the directors greeted back.
“Let’s settle down and start our agenda for today. First of all, I am Isaac Jones. I am the new owner and CEO of this publishing company I think Mr. Smith has already briefed all of you regarding this matter. Explain Mr. Jones.
The meeting continued but I really can’t focus. When Mr. Jones speak, I just stared and imagined things that I had never done before. I just stared at his kissable lips moving authoritatively. When he is in work mode face, he looked hot. “Oh, B you need to focus before he notices”.
“If you need anything or clarifications just inform my assistant. He will assist you, I hope we have a fruitful year ahead for all of us. That’s all for today you can go back to your work and pleasure to meet you all.”
“Thank you, Mr. Jones,”.
He left with his assistant and the directors started whispering.
“Not bad for our new CEO, I think he is not hard to approach”, one of the directors whispered.
“I agree with that, he is just like Mr. Smith maybe that’s why Mr. Smith sold this company to him because he saw that it will be in good hands and the thing that they know each other very well.” The other’s director agreed.
I just listen to them exchanging their opinion with our new CEO. One by one we leave and return to our work and continue our day.

Isaac POV
When I enter the conference room some familiar figure got my attention. I greeted all the directors present but I stared at one person with a confused face. I stared at her and she was surprised to see me in the same room as well.
“Mr. Jones, is that your neighbor? my assistant whispered to me.
“You see her also, I thought I’m just hallucinating this early morning”.
“Why did you think that, are you thinking about her all this time? teases my assistant.
“Stop that nonsense or else I will send you to another country again”. I said sternly.
“I stop, I stop, just don’t throw me to another country again. The last time you send me to Finland it was a horrible experience”.
“So you should learn from that experience or else another country is waiting for you again”. I teased back
I settled and started the meeting without looking at her again. I need to focus on our agenda today. Maybe it is just a coincidence.
After an hour I ended the meeting and went back to my new office.

“Jeff send me the list of all directors, I need to double-check some details”. I called my assistant.
“Okay sir, I send it to your email.
“Thank you”. I hang up.
Is that Bettany in the meeting maybe I’m seeing things but Jeff also sees her so maybe it’s her? I’m scrolling the list Jeff just sent and Bettany Wright is on that list. It’s really her, what a coincidence.
I focused on the work that needs my attention. The papers I needed to sign are starting to pile up. I can see my busy days ahead. After a few hours, Jeff knocked.
“Knock Knock...
“Come in”.
“Mr. Jones it’s lunchtime what do you feel having today? Jeff asked.
“Oh, can you find some Italian restaurant nearby? Let’s go there”.
“Okay, I will ask our driver to prepare the car”.
“Let’s go, now you remind me I felt hungry suddenly”.
We walk out of my office and went to the elevator.

Editorial Department
“Carol, can you inform me when Mr. Hudson came, I will have a video conference in my office”.
“Okay Bett, anything else you need?
“Oh, and please send me coffee, thank you, Carol.
I settled inside my office and do some work before my video conference starts. After a few minutes, Carol knocked on my door.
Knock, Knock...
“Bett, Mr. Hudson is waiting in the meeting room he just arrived by the way”.
“Thank you, just give me a minute I will end my meeting”.

“Hi, Mr. Hudson nice seeing you again”, I greeted him when I entered the room.
“Hi, Bett, and by the way, you're looking good”, he greeted me while kissing my cheeks. “And stop calling me that I told you many times just call me Caleb, stop the formality.” He banters.
“Okay, Caleb my mistakes, let’s sit and get down to business”. I laugh at him.
“Okay, I know you will not waste any minute, every second counts to you”.
“Ha ha ha, you know me well Caleb that’s why you’re my favorite author”. teasing him.
We started to discuss his new book to be published. This is his 15th book under our company. Caleb is an amazing author, when you read his story you felt the emotions in everything. He is in his late thirties and one of our senior writers. He is one of the coolest writers as well. He loved to banter that’s why my department staff liked him a lot.
“So see you next week we will have a meeting with our marketing department so we can finalize the advertisement for your book”.
“Noted, by the way, it’s already lunchtime let’s go I will treat you to a meal”.
“Can I pass for this one?
“No, you said I’m your favorite author so accompany me for lunch”
“Okay, fine I know you will not take a no for an answer”.
“Ha, ha, ha I think you know me too well as well.”
“Okay let’s go before I change my mind.” I tease.
