My clenched fist trembled while staring at the unwrapped parcel that was on my table.

“Yours sincerely, Le Mort” I read out loud at the same time burying my head on the table and in that very moment, I was filled with nothing but regrets.

I regretted how Ethan was always successful in outsmarting me. If I was a step ahead, he was always ten steps ahead.

It looked more like he knew my next moves without even trying. When it hit me that the men I had hired that day at the party were bought off by Ethan, that was when it dawned on me that for me to be able to get in Ethan’s head, I needed to be skilled and think the same way as him.
