Malcolm would not let her leave the bed. He brought everything to them that night. Never in his life did he have to resist doing something. But he felt it was too soon. Malcolm didn’t want to scare Melody by restraining her too soon. Now he felt the weekend wouldn’t be long enough to explore everything and get her out of his system. This was their first night together and he could keep himself out of her tight core. Just the thought of driving into her again only amplified his urge, seeing if he could knot inside her again. She wouldn’t forget this weekend until the day she died. He’d make sure of it, because he didn’t want to be the only one remembering it.
Malcom pulled her onto the bed, and he sat against the headboard. She watched him, eager to follow his instructions. “Straddle my lap, but not close enough for you to take my shaft inside you. See? Lean back and hold your ankles. Now thrust you hips up towards me. Good girl. Excellent, you’re so open and hmmm… ready for anything.” He was smiling as his fingers played over her vulnerable body. Her response revealing how need she still was. Gods, she was as insatiable as he was. Malcolm eased his fingers slowly, one at a time. One… Two… Three… gods. She took his fingers like a champ, but she needed more. Did he add a fourth? Or use his other hand to delve into her darker places. Both options interested him as she responded to his touch.
“Malcolm, I need to touch my breasts.”
“You’ll stay like this. All in good time.” He slipped a fourth finger in and watched her eyes grow wide at the feel. Any closer and he’d lose his hand to her hot core. “That’s it, sweetheart, take it. Ride that feeling. You’re beautiful. So willing and eager. I want to watch all of you. Come on, my hand.” His other hand rubbed her nub, sending her shriek over the end, and he couldn’t be more pleased as he continued his onslaught to bring her to another climax. She was magnificent when she came. He wondered if he could get enough of seeing that. That thought scared and excited him. To avoid that thought, he pulled her off his lap, tossed her onto her hands and knees. His shaft took the place of his hand and this time he didn’t hold back. Malcolm drove himself hard and she with him. His hands slapped her butt cheek red and calmed them with soothing caresses. Letting the fiery burn bring her back to her boiling need. Soon enough, she was making those sexy noises as she encouraged his forceful thrusts. Meeting him in the middle, thrust for thrust. She needed to come again as much as he did.
It wasn’t until he knotted inside her, pouring his need deep inside her, he understood. He wasn’t wearing a condom.
Melody never even experienced this heightened state. Her fox was so close. The room smelled of their hunger for each other. Gods, if she didn’t know better, it caught them up in a mating dance. But no, she knew that couldn’t be. He was a wolf, and she was a fox. Fate wouldn’t be that cruel.
The hot sting of his tender slaps on her rump had her meeting his thrusts desperate again to find completion. Then she felt it again. Her eyes went wide. The first time she could see herself imagining it. But this time she had to pray he kept his teeth to himself. The man was knotted inside her! Swollen and hard, tight against her inner walls. Melody had to pant, her eyes wide as he came shooting hot deep within her. There was no condom barrier between them. He was sending his desire right now deep within her. They weren’t mated, birth control only worked for shifter when they weren’t mated. They weren’t mates. They couldn’t be. They were different species.
He was done with her yet. Not by a long shot. He shifted their position, being he couldn’t leave her. That’s when she learned to power of gravity and their current joining. Her eyes went wide again as he felt larger still, touching places he hadn’t before.
“Malcolm, what have you done? I can feel you everywhere.” With his hands exciting her breasts to excited peaks, his knotted shaft throbbed within her. She could feel him so keenly. Instinct made her arch into his hands, and he shifted inside her, caressing her as she shivered above him.
“You’re beautiful. Venus in the half shell would be jealous. All passionate curves that never end. Let your instincts goes. Show me how wild you really are.” Malcolm’s thrusts were primal, and he made his demands known. She saw how his needs tore at him, baring the inner man beast for her to see. His wolf, just below the surface, looked up at her. She struggle there, her body fought to let her beast rise to the surface. The urge to snarl and cry. Bite and claw her way to completion consumed her. Her panic only raised her excitement. How close could she come to her true nature before he noticed? Did she dare?
The resounding no rang in her head, and he finally tipped over the edge fully and her body celebrated the job well done.
Eventually, he left her body and moved to the bathroom. Neither spoke of the lack of condom use or the unusual sexual practices.
Malcolm put it down to Melody, knowing the stories about his kinks. Gods. He wanted her again. He’d not shown her the cottages basement. For this occasion, he had it finished. But she feared she’d panic, that it would be too much. He found it difficult to find a woman like her who matched his level of desires. At this rate, he was entertaining the thought of how he’d change the rules. Have her available only for him. The very thought of her being taken by another man now didn’t sit well with him. But as a human, he couldn’t present her to his pack as their Luna. Gods, any shifter would be more acceptable than a human these days. Even a squirrel or rat shifter would be easier for them to accept.
Melody didn’t lay long on the bed. Gods, she was risking too much. Taking the bottle of scent blockers, she took another. She couldn’t risk him discovering her secrets. Melody knew her mother wouldn’t approve of lying like this. But she didn’t regret this weekend. She wouldn’t let anyone force her to. She wanted memories of the most desirable man she’d ever met screwing her brains out. That would have to satisfy her until the end of her days.
Melody used the bathroom after Malcolm returned. When she returned, he was asleep. She drank her wine as she watched the night through the wall of windows. Gods, if there were eyes out there looking back, they must have a great show. She couldn’t help but touch her bare flesh, remembering what his touch felt like and how it made her feel. She feared that she’d want to get used to being with him. But even if she stayed, they’d agreed it would end Monday. When they left this place. Her heart wept at that because she couldn’t harden it now. The fun and games were too real right now. She had to remind herself that this was for the best. That she couldn’t maintain this. Right now, she was all too aware of the surrounding scents. The scent of their mingle passion lit up the room. Even after a shower, she could smell him on her body. It did things to her that made her knees go weak. Now she’d climb into bed beside him and attempt to sleep. When she slipped naked into bed with Ma
That aggressive nature found its way into a heated encounter there on the shore, with him taking her like the animal he knew he was. It was all he could do to not lose himself and bite her. The urge was stronger than ever before, and it scared the crap out of him. This he had to unpack before he went too far. “What time is it?” He’d knotted inside her again and she tried desperately not to say she knew what that meant. Melody prayed her birth control would work because him taking her like this was bliss incarnate. “Four thirty-four. Why?” She couldn’t tell him. Gods, she should have taken a scent blocker half an hour ago. “It’s nothing. I’ll be back in a moment.” She grabbed her daypack and moved into the tree line. Crap, she was screwed if he scented her fox and with all the sex, she was sure her fox would fly her colours from here to North Bay if it weren’t for the pills. She popped another pill and tried to hang out while it took effect. This was a mess she cou
She tried to speak; he saw her lips move and his hand gripped his shaft harder. His mind’s eye seeing those lips wrapped around him earlier. “I’m going to ask again. Should we go slower?” “As you wish it, Sir.” “Good answer.” He turned the dildo back on. This time, he changed the tempo of the vibration. Her back arched as she felt it. He’d have to do something with her soon. His hand wasn’t cutting it to soothe his desires. With a feather, he traced her body, breasts, belly, inner thighs. She was lost in her space, and he gloried in a job well done. He toyed with her, intrigued by her in every way. Now he was getting lost in his own focus. Now he had time to think. Time passed, and he stretched her desires out. Slowly wringing her of her resistance. His mind went to the things he’d thought and felt that were so different this time. Oh, each encounter was different, but this one. This one had teeth and legs. He studied her legs from every angle. Touching and
Melody returned to the sleeping Malcolm, saddened knowing that she’d have to leave. She climb back into bed with him and lay there until morning came. In the bathroom, she got ready for the day. Packed her things and tucked them back into her overnight bag. Melody found Malcolm in by the fire. It was raining outside. She stood at the windows, watching it for a long while. Her mind trying to go over where she could have lost the scent blockers. Gods, she felt like a fool. She couldn’t ask Malcolm for help to look for them. He’d ask her what they were for and, as a wolf, he’d know if she lied. Melody wandered the main room where she’d left the daypack, hoping against hope she’d find the bottle in a corner or some hidden place. But she had to be subtle about it. So she pretended to look at artwork and organize the already clean room. “Everything alright Melody?” “Just restless, I guess. Maybe it’s the rain.” “Hmm…” Melody knew that sound. He didn’t buy it.
Malcolm awoke alone. He stretched and found the place beside him was cold. Sitting up, he went still, trying to locate the sound of her moving around. But everything was silent. Worried something may have happened to her, Malcolm searched the building. Nothing. She wasn’t inside the house. He started looking outside and stopped dead in his tracks. Her car was gone, her bag too. She left without a goodbye. He checked again for a note, nothing. Malcolm stood there stunned, in disbelief. No goodbye, no reason for leaving early. He tried to call her phone, and she didn’t pick it up any time he called. Finally, he called Jordan and told him what had happened. Jordan told him she’d probably explain on Tuesday when she saw him. That maybe she had a family emergency and reminded him about the cute Ellie. She’d not wanted to talk about it. Perhaps that was the case. He still wanted to change the rule of their agreement. Now it would have to wait. He cleaned up the
Malcolm paced the cottage’s spacious living room, searching the late afternoon outside the window. He kept expecting her to drive up and come in with some surprise, but she hadn’t. Gods, where was she? There was no note. Her things were gone. His enforcers had searched for evidence of where she could have gone. All they could find was a security video of her leaving their territory. She’d been alone in the vehicle, at least. But she didn’t say anything about leaving. Had he done something wrong? He knew nothing really about her family. Could she have had a family emergency? Why wasn’t she answering her phone? He was useless at finding her, because he kept following her scent back to the bedroom they shared. Jordan called and informed him that her apartment was the wrong address, or she’d moved out. The neighbours weren’t home to ask anything else. What was going on? People don’t just walk away from their lives like this. He couldn’t stay here any longer. Every
Melody missed working in the office. She enjoyed healing well enough. But it didn’t make her happy. She felt like a fraud and a failure. No one was ever happy around her and it boggled her mind how many women came to about either, then asked how she found working outside of the den. One or two even asked how they could do it. The greatest fears were being excommunicated from the den, and the large population of wolf shifters. Melody couldn’t mention that she worked with wolf shifters. It was bad enough when her pregnancy became obvious. The Elder women of the den loved the idea of a new kit or two around the den until she wouldn’t name the father. Their tune changed to a more malicious and quiet tone. They said nothing to her face, but their words got back to her through Ellie. Ellie who now moved in with her to the old and rundown apartment. The tiny place was too small for her healing practice, to load because they surrounded apartment with public spaces, and ther
Stanley Curdle, the only person who could tell Malcolm what for in the firm, stood by the windows of his office, silently trying to pick his words for Malcolm. “Malcolm, I know it’s been hard working on the project without Melody. She would have been your perfect match. Your yin to your yang. But you need help with her gone. Your work is suffering. Please, I gave you a list of candidates, pick one. If you can tell me what happened between you and Melody. Then when we find her, we’ll try to repair the damage. You’re both too good to lose.” Stanley pointed to the files on his desk he left there for Malcolm to study before he decided. They were all good, not as good as Melody. But he could pick one blindly and they’d do the job. Malcolm heard the words perfectly together, and Stanley was correct. They had been perfect together, and that’s what kept him up at night, watching the video and remembering every detail of how perfect they were together. He’d hired Edward Toulouchi
The investigation took weeks, and by then they’d moved into the packhouse. Life slowly got back to normal. The pack warmed up to Melody and Ellie. When they realized they were the minds behind their products. The she-wolves embraced them readily. Malcolm and Jordan split their time between the city and the Muskoka territory. Even the various construction projects were progressing well, with no more interference. The Fae were nowhere to be seen. But there were new rogues in the shadows of the neutral zones, and they weren’t living there quietly. The council of alphas were making plans to deal with them along with an ever pending war between the Toronto packs, the Scarborough Grove, and the Don Valley. It was something that cropped up again and again. They had history and family conflict. No one could blame them for the father they had. Now there’s a girl driving a wedge between them again, with her mere existence. Ellie was concerned about Jordan. He’d have to come to terms wi
“When I stepped into leadership of this pack, I made it clear we wouldn’t hold on to old prejudices. This might not be a message that got to some of the most recent pack members. This is a historic time and events have been fast and furious. So, I will state this again without naming names or telling tales out of school, as the humans say.” He paused and looked about. Several uneasy people were now relaxed. “That’s not to say those people will avoid the appropriate punishments later. Now, we are a wolf pack who recognizes fate can grant us mates who aren’t wolves. We don’t punish a person for their species, race, lack of magic, or anything like that. If you have a problem with another, you seek to resolve it without harming each other. Yes, I know for some that is a tough thing to do. But we do that within this pack. I have heard that someone has used their station and position of responsibility to force their political beliefs onto the pack as a whole. The reports I rece
“Now you’re sure we have everything. I’d hate to get there and find out we’re missing something.” Melody was checking her bags again. Malcolm could see her anxiety in her actions. Normally, she would never reveal it. Now he figured it was her motherly instincts kicking in to protect and care for her pups. “Melody, there will be other families there. I’m sure if you’ve forgotten something, someone will have it.” If looks could kill, Malcolm would need a healer, at least if not an undertaker, as the humans would say. Melody didn’t appreciate his assurances. As Jordan passed him with another car seat. They had to install three of them and that was the last. Jordan made eye contact with Malcolm, and they exchanged a sense of commiseration. Malcolm figured it was because Jordan just escaped a similar situation upstairs. “Ellie, let me get the base in the car and then I’ll come get the pups for you. I don’t want you to carry two of those heavy car seats. Just
Malcolm didn’t stay long after that at the meeting. The elders clearly had a lot to chew on and get straight. He’d gone on to remind them their job wasn’t to run the pack or tell people what and how to do things. They weren’t to threaten the pack members if they said or did anything. Their job was to advise and give council. Use their experience and list, assist in finding answers. Guide the next generation. Someone had lost their way and Malcolm would keep an eye on them. So this wouldn’t happen again. They were getting ready to settle down for the rest of the evening when the elders appeared at their door. This time they requested if we could introduce them to the new pack members. A far cry from the morning. Malcolm noticed the speaker wasn’t there, but Cathleen was. “I’m sorry about all of this, Alpha. I truly didn’t believe it. Gisselle was sent by the others. However, I spoke with her about how unreasonable the horrible words were. She agreed with me. I just ask that you
Malcolm was unhappy when he entered the elder’s meeting room to hear this information. What were they thinking, pulling this? Running on rumours and speculation. That wasn’t how he or how he expected his pack to run. Malcolm waiting rather impatiently for a response that didn’t appear to come fast enough for his liking. “Tight lipped, are we? Anyone else like to step up to the speaker’s spot and inform me of exactly what my mate, they accused your Luna of what and by whom?” “I can’t tell you who reported this to us, but I would love to fill you in on this. It’s rather disgraceful, over-the-top, and factually unbelievable.” Cathleen stood up from her seat, a look of sour disapproval on her face. “To make matters worse, they kept me out of the loop on the births that happened at the cottage. This, I gather, was to ensure that I didn’t spill the beans about what they were doing.” “Madam, if you’d please state the accusations that they forced m
Gisselle found herself basically being escorted to the elders. She was sure they weren’t pleased with her right now after the subtle stance she took. Now she’s having to tell them their information about the Luna was full of misleading or outright false information. That wouldn’t go down well either. She entered the building that the elders used for their private meeting. Cathleen was there this time. She’d been missing when the elders stopped in to see the Luna and recognize the pups. “I hear they left me out of the loop in being told the pup was born early this morning.” Cathleen cornered Gisselle about this as soon as she got there. “For that, I’m sorry. I left a message with someone, and they were supposed to contact everyone. Whatever happened, it wasn’t on my part, I had my hands full at the time.” “Tell me you found these fools were acting out of ignorance and that none of this is true.” “Truthfully, none of it was true. Not
When Malcolm woke up, his phone was inundated with messages, wanting to know about everything. From where was he, to be everyone alright, even a few inquiries about complaints from a couple of elders about him throwing tradition to the wind? Business seemed to be well contained, with only a few reassurances that he takes his time, and it would be managed for him. That meant he would need to deal with several things here at home, make several decisions, and find his footing in this new dynamic. If someone told him he’d be mated and a father of two right now, three years ago, he’d have laughed at them and asked them what they were smoking. Now he had one almost running. They needed to get some safety items set up in the cottage. Malcolm was there to catch David this time before he fell down the stairs. No one told him pups moved that fast. Now there were four! He thought he’d let Melody look after this. But with the mess in how people were communicati
Malcolm was more than annoyed with the elders. This was his family and his pack. That meant his word was law and what they did was overstep their place. He didn’t have to listen to their advice, and that’s all their words should be. A voice of experience or a different perspective. They shouldn’t be demanding anything. “What is going on out there?” “Insensitive, self-important ninnies every one of them. The elders were downstairs. They expected you to give birth and then get up and walk down to them so we can present the boys to them officially.” “Is that what it was?” Melody sighed and kissed David’s head as he cuddled. He was still trying to wake up after being woken up several times during the night. “I would have thought you’d want to get it over with.” “We don’t have a name for this little one. I’m not leaving anything to chance. They make me worry that if we don’t have a name, then they’ll select one themselves to expedite things. Are they still giving yo
Three hours after returning to the cottage, Malcolm saw his pup come into the world. It wasn’t at all what he’d expected and if they had any more, he’d gladly wait elsewhere. Gisselle believed the little male would be another pup. So, Malcolm finally made a list of the information he needed to add to the pack’s registry. He couldn’t believe that he’d not added Melody or David to the registry. They’d added Ellie along with the twins. He hoped that’s why no one was respecting them before this. Once things quieted down, it was late enough in the morning for the elders to make their appearance and demands clear. They wanted to be introduced to both pups and do it all official. Malcolm was more than annoyed by this. They expected to be catered to without thought to Melody’s health or anyone else. Why did it even have to be today at all? “Alpha, could you let me handle this as the Luna’s healer? It’s my duty to ensure she recovers. I know you haven’t said anyth
