Thirty-third Chapter

Devin drove like a maniac to the hospital. I was in a hurry to see Anna but I wanted to do exactly just that, see her, not die in the process. As much as I wanted him to drive a little more carefully, I didn't say a word. I sat in the front seat, completely silent, watching him maneuver his way through the cars on the highway. Many times my heart threatened to jump out of my chest, and even jumped into my mouth, but I swallowed the various heavy lumps in my throat and just sat through it.

We finally got to the hospital. He was quick to find a parking space, narrowly missing the bumper of the Toyota parked to the left of the spot he chose. Even if he did hit it, he would have paid for damages on the spot. His parents were rich afterall.
