Celia quickly took the money, counted eight thousand dollars, and handed the rest back to Frederick.

“Here! Take it and get up!” She angrily threw the money at Elliot, who was still rolling on the ground.

Immediately, Elliot stopped his wailing. He was grinning as he got up and gathered the scattered bills.

“See, that wasn’t so hard, was it? Alright, I’m leaving now. I’ll come visit you again sometime.”

With that, Elliot turned and left without looking back.

“I’m sorry you had to see that,” Celia said, and lowered her head as tears welled up in her eyes.

“Every family has its troubles,” Frederick said.

“He called me earlier to ask where I was, and I didn’t think much of it. So, I told him I was at the Grand Heritage Hotel. I never expected him to show up here,” Celia said apologetically.

She felt guilty for the trouble and embarrassment Elliot had caused Frederick.

“So, you became a flight attendant instead of continuing your studies because of your father?” Frederick asked
