Chapter 709

After speaking, Frederick left the interrogation without giving Edmund another glance.

Edmund, now completely numb, watched in a daze as Frederick left.

“By the way, whichever hand he used to touch me earlier, cut it off,” Frederick’s voice echoed back into the interrogation room from outside.

All that was left for Edmund was despair.

“How did you know I was here?” Frederick asked Levi. He wasn’t lying—he didn’t know Levi at all.

“Lord Hades, I happened to be with Matthew when you were on the phone with him. I offered to come and take care of the mess. Please, don’t blame Matthew,” Levi quickly explained with a smile.

Frederick nodded. He had been talking to Matthew when Edmund took him away.

“What do you want in return?” Frederick asked directly. At Levi’s level, he wouldn’t be this deferential unless he needed something.

“Lord Hades, I’ll be honest since you asked. Next month, I’ll be taking a post at the Northern Frontier. I hope you can take me under your wing,” Levi said
