They started serving the appetizers, but my half-sister just couldn't let me eat the salmon carpaccio in peace. She took one of her water glasses and tapped it with a fork. The general conversation died down as everyone turned to listen to her.

"You have no idea how fortunate we are to have you, our closest friends and family, gathered here tonight," Amanda said emotionally. "But I feel particularly honored to have my sister Marianne with me."

She couldn't leave me alone for even a minute, could she? All eyes were on me.

"Marianne and I haven't had a conventional sisterly relationship. But if there's one thing I can say, it's that the blood bond that unites us will NEVER weaken.” She emphasized the blood bond like the psychopath she was. "Not even in this particular 'situation' that we are all aware of."
