The entire ride back to the castle was silent. You could cut the tension with a knife. It was clear to Eva that the Prince could be her mate. She was showing all the symptoms based on all the books she read. What she couldn't understand was the fact that he had yet to say anything. Maybe he wasn't her mate? That still didn't explain how he made her feel just by being close to her. Something was off.
Why hadn't he said or done anything? Usually, wolves with higher rankings became much more possessive. Surely if Eva was his mate he would say something... no?
Alana knew something was wrong. Sure Eva was shy and everything but she was never this quiet. Alana kept her guard up. She didn't fully trust the prince. He gave her weird vibes.
Alana dared not to say anything. No matter how badly she wanted to comment on her best friend's attitude at this moment. She didn't want to draw attention to her best friend.
No one could sense Eva's inner turmoil like her mate could. Prince Cole said nothing to even hint at the possibility of Eva being his mate. Surely the mood goddess wouldn't be so cruel as to grant him a vampire mate. A BLIND vampire mate at that. This had to be a mistake. She was a mistake.
There was no way in hell he would accept something defective. He was a prince after all. He had higher standards.
He decided not to say anything on the matter. As long as he kept his mouth shut no one would know. He was sure that the Vampire would keep her mouth shut. She probably had no idea.
A part of him... the weaker part wanted to accept her. To love her, to cherish her, but he made sure that part of him was caged up deep in his soul. Never to see the light of day.
He was NOT weak he was strong and he DESERVED a strong mate.
As the car drew closer to the castle the prince decided to do something he knew would benefit them both. If he rejected her the moon Goddess would grant him a second chance mate. Surely a prince had a second mate. He was a prince after all and Eva could go and live her life with her 'Pack'.
Now that he thought about it. Maybe keeping Eva at the castle wasn't such a bad idea. He could mate her as much as he needed until his second chance mate came into the picture. Then he could send Eva back home.
The prince smiled proudly at his plan. He had thought of everything. Eva wouldn't reject him she needed him. He was a prince and could give her anything she desired. Anything but his love for her.
The car slowed down and eventually came to a full stop. The doors were opened from the outside by the guards and everyone climbed out. As the prince climbed out of the car he caught a whiff of Eva's scent. She had a sweet scent that made him weak to the knees.
The prince hated the fact that Eva had so much control over him. He had to deal with this mate's business as soon as possible. No one could have so much control over him. He was above everyone and he would be damned if he let anyone rule over him.
As everyone walked towards the castle the guards opened the doors for the prince. He led them inside and towards the King's Throne Room.
Eva had yet to say a word. She was still dumbfounded about what the actual fuck was going on! This matter was starting to frustrate her and she was not one to get angry.
If he was her mate why not say anything?! She didn't understand. Maybe it was her... maybe she was just imagining things.
Eva decided not to say anything further and tried to push the matter to the back of her head.
"Welcome, Alpha Vasiliev, Beta Stone, Future Alpha Alana Vasiliev" The King spoke out as he greeted almost everyone.
"My apologies it seems that I don't know your name" The King added in confusion.
"Her name is Eva, she is a vampire and daughter of Beta Stone" Alexandrov spoke out and everyone bowed.
Eva knew that when meeting with Royals it was customary to bow as a sign of respect. She was glad she had read the book on how to greet Royals. She would have looked like a disrespectful person had she been the only one not to bow.
"This is New, a vampire that bows? Might I ask how you guys came across adopting a vampire Beta Stone" The King questioned as he placed a hand over his mouth.
"We found her in the woods when she was just a child" Antonio spoke out.
Eva knew that he lied. She knew that she was left at the pack to be protected from hunters. Her mother Nerine promised to be back but never returned. Even at a young age, Eva wasn't stupid. She knew the hunters had probably killed her off.
What Eva didn't understand was why her father would lie to the King. Why not simply let him know that she was an Orphan who was abandoned?
"And her parents?"
"I am her parent your Majesty" Antonio bit out in annoyance.
Eva knew this side of him all too well. He would get angry when anyone ever said that she was not his child. Eva's mother Misty was the same. Misty would raise hell and high water if anyone dared say that Eva wasn't her child.
Hell hath no fury like a mama bear.
"I see" His majesty simply spoke as he was now uninterested in this vampire.
"If I may your majesty... Eva here is my mate." The prince spoke out nonchalantly.
Everyone froze at his comment. Eva was shocked to hear that she was, in fact, the mate of the werewolf prince. Alexandrov and Antonio had said nothing and were still a bit shell-shocked. Alana was the only one to curse under her breath and roll her eyes at the Prince's Confession.
"Oh?" The King questioned with newfound Intrest in a small Vampire before him.
"Congratulations Son, I am happy for"
"Actually your Majesty, I was hoping you could authenticate my Rejection. Eva here is not only a vampire but she is also blind. I will not be weighed down by a defective mate."
Eva felt as if an Arrow had passed through her heart. His words burned her like blue flames. She could t explain the pain she was in. Eva doubled over and fell to the ground on her hands and knees.
How could he say those things about her? He was her mate. From all of the stories she had read, mates were a blessing, not a curse.
She couldn't understand the feelings passing through her. They were going so fast she couldn't pinpoint which one was the strongest. Anger, Hurt, Pride, Sadness, and most of all Betrayal. These emotions crashed into her like a tidal wave. Eva had never been in a position where she had so many emotions running through her.
Although Eva didn't exactly want a Mate she wasn't going to reject one either. So what if she was claimed by one man for the rest of her life?
Alana quickly fell to her knees to comfort her best friend. She knew this wasn't a good time but all she wanted to yell out was 'I knew it!' Although she hadn't told anyone her feelings for the Prince she knew he was a piece of shit. He had just confirmed what she thought from the beginning!
"You son of a bitch" Antonio growled as he lunged at the prince.
Antonio was seeing red and his wolf wanted blood. He didn't care that he was in the presence of a King or that he was attacking the future king. To him, this pup had hurt his daughter and he was going to pay for it in full.
Alexandrov watched in horror as Antonio shifted in mid-jump and landed on the Prince. The prince had shifted as well into a large pure white wolf. Even in his wolf form, he looked regal.
The prince defended himself against the angry father. Although Prince Cole was convinced this man wasn't just a Beta, the way this wolf moved and attacked. He held the strength of an Alpha. At least he did base on the strength of the other Alphas he had fought. Then again Alpha Vasiliev ran a strong pack. They hadn't been to war in a while and were mostly peaceful. Now he was beginning to understand why.
Antonio fought with all his might to kill the prince. He managed to get in a couple of scratches and bites. The prince was fighting to defend himself but he was weak. Even for a prince, he was too weak. Antonio was only a Beta and had managed to injure him in more ways than one.
"Beta Stone! Enough!" Alexandrov yelled out in his Alpha command.
Against Antonio's desire, his wolf stopped his assault on Prince Martin Cole. The Blood in his mouth wasn't enough to calm his wolf but he couldn't go against his Alpha.
The King simply watched how everything unfolded in front of him. The way his idiot son had just rejected his Goddess-given Gift. The way her 'Father' had fought to defend her honor and almost beat the Prince into a coma.
Sure he wasn't expecting the Moon Goddess to pair a werewolf and A vampire together, especially a royal but at the end of the day, she knew best.
Although he admitted that his son had done an idiot thing like that In front of everyone and had almost ruined the royal image by almost dying at the hands of a Beta, The King couldn't help the contempt that he felt for Beta Stone.
Alexandrov could feel the Anger and contempt rolling off the King in waves. Almost drowning him. He was sure that Antonio could feel it too. Alexandrov had to defuse this situation as fast as possible before a public execution happened and Eva ended up being Beta before she was ready.
"Your Majesty, please forgive my Beta. He simply lost control. Surely you know what it's like to have someone attack your child."
"The Difference here Alpha Vasiliev is that your Beta physically attacked my son." The King bit out.
"I understand but please understand that Antonio is a father first and he is very protective of his daughter. Especially since his mate is so far away."
The King remained silent as he tried to calm himself and tried to think things through. He knew what it was like to have his Mate far away from him. How he was constantly in an irritated mood and almost anything set him off.
"Your Majesty, I demand recompensation for this brutal attack." The Prince Spoke as he limped towards the King.
"Very well, you shall receive it. Name your price"
"I want the Vampire to be my full-time maid." The prince smirked as he looked at a crying Eva on the floor.
"No way in hell" Alexandrov growled out shocking everyone in the room.
"Excuse me?"
"With all due respect your majesty, I will not allow my future Beta to stay in a place she isn't wanted. She has duties waiting for her in our pack. I refuse to leave her behind with this little pervert prince" Alexandrov bit out.
"Alpha Vasiliev you do understand what will happen if you deny a royal order"
"Yes I do and I stand by my decision"
"Alpha Vasiliev, I, Eva Kora, Deny the Beta position and sever all ties with the Green Forest Pack," Eva spoke out as she stood from the floor.
"To avoid war, I will stay here and become his maid" Eva added as she wiped her tears.
"Over my Goddamn body!" Antonio growled out drawing everyone's attention to him.
"Dad Please" Eva whimpered."Beta quiet" Alexandrov commanded."Eva, I will handle this. You are not to question my authority again and next time you try to sever a bond with your family be prepared for the consequence." Alexandrov bit out in anger."Alpha Vasiliev, let the vampire stay here as a maid. I can assure you that she will not be mistreated and we can avoid a war." The King spoke out with a facade of a Calm demeanor. He was seething but he was no fool. The Alpha before him had power that rivaled his own. He had to be smart about how to handle this situation."Will all due respect your Majesty, Go Fuck Yourself" Alexandrov hissed out before turning on his heels and walking out of the throne room with his family.Alexandrov knew very well that he had just declared war on the King but he couldn't let Eva stay in this despicable place any longer. He wasn't going to leave his best friend's daughter to fend for herself against an unreasonable mate.If the prince couldn't see Eva's
"That little shit!" Misty screamed as rage filled her veins.Alana had to explain why they were back earlier than usual to her aunt Misty. Simply because her Uncle Antonio was too afraid to tell her the truth.Eva simply twiddled her thumbs as she could hear Misty throw and break things downstairs. Alana was only halfway into telling Misty and Amelie what had happened at the castle and so far Misty was raging.By the sound of it, Misty had thrown a flower vase at the wall."I'll Kill him," Misty seethed in anger."I. WILL. KILL. HIM""Aunt Misty, I haven't finished" Alana whimpered as she tried to finish telling her the whole thing.Eva sighed and placed a pillow over her head to try and muffle the sounds that came from downstairs. Eva was currently in bed under the covers hiding from the world."HE DID WHAT?!" Misty yelled once again. It was now that Eva had sat up and realized she forgot to tell Alana not to tell her mother that her father had started a war for beating up the prince
Eva sighed and closed her eyes. She let the warmth of the sun kiss her pale skin. Two months had passed since the declaration of war between the Green Forest Pack and the Royal Family. So far Alexandrov was able to gain the alliance of 4 packs. The Red Moon pack, The Blood River Pack, The Wildflower Pack, and a Makeshift pack that called themselves the rogue pack. The rogue pack consisted of more than just werewolves. Under the Alpha’s control were a Demon, a couple of rogue wolves, and two witches. The rogue pack had a female pack alpha. She wasn’t of Alpha blood herself but she was a daughter of a very strong warrior. She was granted the gift to lead in exchange for her wolf. Many didn’t validate the rogue pack as an official pack for the simple fact that a. The Alpha didn’t carry Alpha blood and B. the Alpha couldn’t shift. Alexandrov was currently meeting with the other Alphas to see what the plan was going to be. Alexandrov said they wouldn’t attack the Kingdom just yet but he
|4 Months Later|The snores from Alana filled the room. Eva sat up in her bed. The pads of her fingers glided across the page of the book. One upside to being blind and reading a book? She didn't need light to read. Eva could read in the dark until her heart's content, Aside from Alana's slight snores and the thumping hearts from everyone inside the PackHouse. The night was quite serene.Eva could hear the leaves moving in the wind outside. It was very relaxing. These past four months had been a bit tough on Eva. Often she would find herself thinking about her mate. She wondered if he was okay or if he had eaten. Eva didn't understand why she cared about him. He was awful to her, and the last time she saw him was six months ago.She figured it was the mate bond that had her worried about Prince Cole. She tried her b
The trip back home felt way shorter than the trip to the Rogue pack. Eva continued to lead her team. Only now, her team had grown double in size thanks to the warriors from the rogue pack.Eva couldn't figure out what the play was. Did the King want to attack each pack with such little warriors? The King should know that he would lose. It would have been better to attack one pack at a time, starting with the strongest. As Eva thought about the Kingdom's ultimate plan, the group finally arrived at the Green Forest Pack. Eva met up with Alana, who had stayed behind with some warriors to protect the elders and the children and their mothers who were human."Any news?" Alana questioned with worry as she ran her eyes over Eva to check for any injuries.
When they finally reached the Green Forest Pack, Eva let out a sigh. She was exhausted. She had never felt so exhausted in her life.As they neared the Packhouse, many of the warriors from the rogue pack left and headed home. Eva entered the Packhouse and was quickly bombarded with the smell of breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, Pancakes, coffee, and Toast.Eva ran up to her room and grabbed a change of clothes. She listened for her best friend and smiled as she heard her in the alpha office, speaking with warriors and pack members. It seemed Alana's work was yet to be done.It gave Eva enough time to head to the bathroom and shower. After a quick warm shower, Eva sat on her bed and relaxed. The day was starting, and yet she felt like she needed a long nap.
| On The Jet |“Have you prepared for what you are going to say to the King?” Alana questioned as she crossed one leg over the other and sat back in her seat.“I am going to politely request assistance from them,” Alexandrov said with a smirk.“Dad, that's terrible preparation.” Alan laughs at her father.“I was thinking Eva could speak to the King.” Alexandrov smiled as he looks at the vampire reading a book.“With all due respect Alpha that is a terrible idea!” Eva exclaims as she slams her book close in surprise.“Why not?”“M
The music hummed in Eva’s ears. The soothing sound of the piano relaxed her as she read her book. She was completely cut off from the real world and was totally immersed in her book.Although Eva would usually stay alert, for some reason she felt like she could be at ease. Maybe it was because she was with Alana. She felt safe and secure. She had no need to fear anyone or anything. That was until someone tapped her shoulder and made her jump out of her skin. She roughly pulled her earphones from her ears and closed her book.”Can I help you?” Eva questioned as she sat up and listened for who was around her.”Sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to come and say H
Eva Led Alana into an empty room. “Eva, what’s going on?” Alana questioned in worry. “There was an attack. It looks like wolves attacked a town nearby, Eva explained. “That's impossible, evenRogues follow the rules of the treaty.” “We managed to kill one, but the others got away. A couple of vampire families were harmed. A baby was orphaned but mostly the damage was materialistic.” Eva sighed as she felt around for a chair. When her hands came into contact with a plush comforter, she realized it was a bed.Eva had become accustomed to the castle but still had many rooms that she was unfamiliar with. Just like the one she was currently in with Alana. “Eva, have you thought about doing a mating ritual with Samael? To get your vision?” Alana questioned as she took a seat next to her beloved best friend. “Initially we did, but honestly, I’m fine with being blind. I can be a queen and a good ruler even if I don’t have my vision. I have a beloved who loves me for me. Just as I am”“I
As the ball continued Sam and Eva greeted the guests. Everyone addressed King Sam and Queen Eva with respect. Eva couldn't get accustomed to all the formalities that came with being a royal. In many situations, she wanted to be informal but feared being frowned upon by the other high-status vampires. Sam quickly noticed the change in his beloved. Fearing that she would be overwhelmed he pulled her outside for a breath of fresh air. “How is my Queen holding up?” Sam teased as he pulled Eva to him. “Honestly, it's a bit overwhelming” mumbled Eva. At times like these she wished she was still at the pack house with her family. Sam placed a gentle kiss on Eva's forehead as reassurance and embraced her. Eva took in a deep breath and sighed in bliss. Being close to Sam calmed her nerves and eased any tension she had. The night sky above the happy couple shined with multiple bright stars. All was well in the world at this precise moment as the pair enjoyed each other’s embrace. That
The sound of music fills the ballroom as the musicians practice their songs. The servants are finishing up the preparations for the upcoming ball. The tables are covered with golden tablecloths. Porcelain plates and expensive glasses are placed on the multiple round tables. In another room, Eva is being pampered and worked on. Her maids are fixing her hair and doing her makeup as they prepare her for the ball of the year. “Are you excited, your majesty? This will be the first ball you attend as queen of the Vampires ”, a maid comments as she continues to place polish on Eva’s nails. “I would rather fight in another war,” Eva mumbles as she chews the inside of her cheek. The nerves are getting the best of her at this moment. The maid simply chuckles. “This is a different kind of battlefield.” Another maid chirps up as she continues to brush Eva’s hair. Eva takes another deep breath and tries to calm her racing heart. Samael walks back and forth as an attendant hurriedly tries to
A week had passed since Eva had moved to the Vampire Castle. Life was pretty good, and she was a quick study. Thankfully her Queen duties were reasonably similar to that of her beta duties. Sam quickly started to learn his requirements as the next King. King Zane was relaxing in his chambers when his beloved walked in with a grin plastered on her face. "She knows how to do everything!" The Vampire queen shouted with happiness. "Everything we teach her she learns in a matter of days!" The Queen continued with praise. "Samael is going to be the best King our race has ever had!" She shouted with glee."Excuse me, ma'am, but I am right here." King Zane huffed as he watched his beloved smile. "You know what I mean," The Queen chuckled."Although she is blind, she is brilliant and adapts rather quickly to anything we throw at her; I honestly feel our son lacks next to Eva," The Queen mumbled."Samael got lucky; she is an excellent match for him," The King agreed as he sat on his bed.
Samael smiled as he softly placed Eva on his bed. Being with his beloved pleased him, more than anything in the world. Being close to Eva made him invincible. Eva slowly shuffled around and a small smile formed on her face as she cuddled into the bed. Sam didn’t realize how much he missed his Beloved. He never wanted to feel that helpless ever in his life. He pulled Eva closer to him and she snuggled into him. Both vampires are in a state of constant contentment. Eva’s eyes fluttered closed and Samael smiled as he too was able to finally relax. Pretty soon the day would come that he would take her back to his kingdom and he would succeed the throne with his beloved by his side.Samael placed gentle kisses on Eva’s temple until sleep eventually came. The next morning came and both vampires were fully asleep. Alana lightly knocked on the bedroom door. When she didn’t receive an answer she decided to return at a later time. Alana sighed and headed to the training room to start her wor
From a distance, Samael could hear people speaking. He couldn’t make out what they were saying but if he focused enough he could hear them draw closer and closer. Samael was in complete darkness. His mind was still hazy and he didn’t know where he was. One thing he did know was that the last thing he remembers was running into Alpha Vasiliev. They had won the war and Eva was back in his arms. His relaxed state was short-lived when thoughts of Eva popped up. His heart began to pound harder and faster. Where was his beloved? Was she still safe? Samael tried everything he could to completely wake up. He yelled and yelled into the darkness but nothing happened. He struggled to move his body but nothing was obeying him. Samael tried for what seemed like hours, yet his situation had not changed. The more time he spent in the darkness the more he worried about Eva. He worried about her condition and if she was being helped. After everything they had gone through he could not let he
Samael watched as his beloved lay in the hospital bed. Her eyes were closed, and she looked peaceful. Sam was hurting, but he couldn’t muster up the courage to move from Eva’s side. Nurses came into the room and helped him as much as they could.Samael refused to be injected with anything that would make him drowsy. He had an eerie sensation and felt that if he were to leave Eva’s side for just a moment, something terrible would happen to her. As the days passed, Eva made no sign of waking up. The more time she spent sleeping, the more the Prince’s health deteriorated. It wasn’t until a week later that Eva finally opened her eyes. Samael clenched her hand as he softly snored. Sleep had caught up with him, and he finally had to get some rest. Eva gently moved her head from side to side. She was now awake, but she was still in the familiar darkness. “Sam?” Eva called out gently. The soft whisper of his name jolted the sleeping vampire from his nap. “I’m here, baby.” Sam quickly rep
Eva suddenly jolted awake. She felt her arms had been chained to something that felt like a bed. She tugged at her restraints but to no avail. The door to the room she was in opened and in walked Martin with a huge smug look on his face. Eva desperately tried to break free but she couldn’t. “You refused to be my concubine. Now you’ll be my whore.” Martin smiled as he gripped one of Eva’s ankles and pulled her body flat on the bed. Eva struggled but she couldn’t break free. Martin quickly tied her foot to the post of the bed and grabbed her other foot. Effectively tying it to the other post. Eva struggled and struggled but was unable to get free. The anxiety in her body started to rise as she felt more and more helpless against Martin. Even with all the struggling she was doing her body still hummed with excitement when she felt Martin touch her leg. She hated the fact that his hands were on her but she couldn’t help her body. “I am going to make you beg my name” Martin smirked a
Eva sighed and stretched as she stood from her seat and walked out of the plane with the help of her cane. Samael walked behind her with their suitcases. The King and Alana walked out of the plane behind the happy couple and at last, came Calvin. Who was struggling with his bag and a handful of snacks he had taken from the plane’s snack bar. Once everyone was out of the plane they climbed into a waiting black SUV that King Cole had sent himself. As Eva and Samael climbed into a car Samael grabbed Eva’s hand in a loving and reassuring way. Eva took a deep breath and tried to steady her heartbeat. “Relax baby, everything will be alright.” Alana and Calvin climbed into the car as well while the King climbed into another SUV by himself. Samael’s thumb ran over Eva’s knuckles calming the racing heartbeat of his beloved. Eva stayed quiet the rest of the way. No words were spoken. The car was only filled with the noise of incessant chewing coming from Calvin. Samael and Alana shot Cal
