Since morning Mia has explored the room in Aurelia Castle. She was amazed by this building. Even though this castle is a new building, everything in the castle depicts medieval style. Grand but classic and extraordinary.

Now she can’t sleep after dinner. Her mind is always wandering to Blueberries. She still has no permission to take her personal belongings, including her cell phone. She thought about Matt, who must be worried. Not wanting to be lost in evil thoughts, Mia decided to leave the room, and maybe by going around the castle, she could divert her mind.

Mia remembered the library shown by a butler named Snow. Seeing a large room’s neatly arranged collection of books on shelves made Mia even more amazed by the castle.

Mia brought herself to the library in slow steps and was careful not to wake anyone at this late hour. Her steps stopped when she found a masculine figure facing the window, his back to her. With one hand in his pocket, while the other holding a crystal glass, Jaxon Bradwood is like a model in The Sexiest Men’s Alive in the world, a magazine.

If most women are attracted to men with six-pack abs and muscles in the arms, then the back of men is Mia’s favorite part. She was obsessed with the back of that masculine creature. A man with a broad, solid back, narrow hip, and round buttock is very sexy to her. The curves of the man’s back are stunning in Mia’s eyes. Especially Jaxon Bradwood’s back. Perfect.

Mia struggled to swallow while entering the dimly lit room with a silent step. The room was warm and smelled of pine and lemon. Only one yellow glowing table lamp lit the wide space. Fortunately, the garden beyond the wide windows in front of Jaxon has bright lights. The lights also divide the light into the room.

Jaxon’s gaze was drawn to Mia, sitting on the sofa beside him. The girl picked up a book from the top of the sofa that was open on page thirty.

They chose to remain silent to keep each other calm. The atmosphere in the room was pleasant enough. That’s why they decided to stay quiet.

Jaxon looked out the window before joining Mia on the sofa. It seemed that soon a storm would fall. Clusters of dark clouds swirled across the sky of Aurelia Castle. The flash of light followed the movement of the clouds.

Jaxon was busy turning the crystal glass in his hand while his eyes followed the movements of Mia’s tapering feminine fingers as she opened page after page of the book she was reading.

“Tomorrow, you can move out of this castle.” Finally, Jaxon couldn’t stand the silence. The atmosphere of wisdom actually made him slowly lose control and desire her even more.

Mia looked up, staring at Jaxon with a calm yet curious stare.

“You have the choice of working for GC if you want,” he said carefully.

Jaxon has many businesses, but he doesn’t want to offer them to Mia. The less the girl knows about his business and personal life, the better their future. Mind him.

“I want to choose my own job, Mr. Bradwood,” Mia replied carefully. Now she ignored the book and focused on the man in front of her.

“What work do you want to do?”

“In my recent place, my job was a waitress, and that’s the only job I’m good at.”

Jaxon’s brows knit together as if he didn’t like hearing that just now.

“You can go to college if you want. I’ll help you.”

“No, thank you. Dependent on others is not my nature. For now, being a waitress is enough. “

“Fine, but the apartment I gave you is non-negotiable.”

Jaxon could see the anger being held by the girl in front of him. He was amazed by how Mia was so careful to hide her anger. The girl acted as if she agreed to every argument, but beneath her obedience lay a rebellious attitude hidden in her beautiful eyes.

Mia started to move from the sofa. She couldn’t stand to linger under Jaxon’s intense gaze. The man made her nervous, but her attempt to escape failed when Jaxon pulled her onto his lap and held her back by wrapping his large, muscular arms around her.

“Are you afraid of me, Mia,” he whispered in his deep, masculine baritone voice.

Their lips almost touched, and the gazes of the two of them were on the same level. From this close, Mia can smell his scent.

“I’m not afraid of you, Mr. Bradwood, “Mia croaked as she swallowed.

Both of them know that Mia is not being honest.

“Can’t you call my name? There are three Bradwoods in Denver, and it doesn’t feel right to say that name as if you’re calling out another man’s name. “

Mia is stunned. She could feel a possessive tone from every word but didn’t want to think that far.

“All right ... Jaxon,” she replied with a heavy sight. Saying his name feels very personal.

Jaxon’s gaze turned soft, making Mia aware that the man in front of her was under the influence of alcohol. From his warm breath came the smell of whiskey. Jaxon touched her cheek gently with the back of his hand. It was when she saw the wounds on his knuckles.

Mia stroked the scars with her soft fingers. The fingers that had been stealing Jaxon’s attention while she opened the book page.

“Looks like I don’t want to know with the wound on your hand, right?”

The corners of Jaxon’s lips revealed a faint smile. The question was more convincing herself rather than looking for answers, so Jaxon chose to be silent.

“Why did you keep me in Denver?”

“Because that’s the only way I can protect you.” Jaxon stroked the sensitive part behind Mia’s ear with his nose.

Mia’s body shook at that sensual touch.

“Do you know what you would face if I were here?”

This time the two of them looked at each other with an intense gaze. Jaxon brought their faces closer together so that Mia could feel a warm gust on her cheeks when Jaxon spoke.

“Tell me what you are afraid of, Mia? Are you running from something? “

Mia chose to be silent. She looked away from Jaxon, who was staring at her incessantly. Jaxon’s fingertips touched her chin softly, bringing their face close, nose to nose.

“Don’t take your eyes off me. You don’t have to tell me everything. I’m asking because it concerns your safety. Now you’re in my protection, Mia. Come to me when you have fully trusted me. “

From the light in his eyes, Jaxon could read Mia’s nervousness.

Who are you hiding from, Mia? What made you change your identity?

It feels like Jaxon can’t help to ask, but it all takes time. Mia is not a woman who easily tells stories. And Jaxon will wait patiently, however long it takes her to open up.

Jaxon brought his face closer and was about to kiss her nose tip, but the sudden blast of thunderbolt made Mia scream instantly. Lightning began to flash around Aurelia Castle, shaking the entire castle building and causing several glasses to make a crashing sound.

Mia hid her head around Jaxon’s neck. Her body cowers with fear. Having this unusual reaction made Jaxon tighten his hug even more. He rubbed Mia’s back slowly while whispering soft, soothing words.

“I got you,” he whispered into Mia’s ear.

The scent of roses filled Jaxon’s lungs. Her honey hair was smooth between his coarse palms.

Mia’s body melted instantly. Jaxon’s soft and low voice made her feel comfortable and protected. Even though lightning flashed with its mighty thundering sound, Jaxon’s agent was able to dispel the terrible sounds. Jaxon endlessly stroked Mia’s back while whispering until Mia felt her eyelids heavy and unconsciously closed tightly.

It seemed that the storm had passed long enough that the two of them were reluctant to let go of each other and share warmth in the pouring rain outside the windows.

Mia’s face flushed red, remembering what happened last night. Luckily it was too early, so the dining table was quiet, and only a few servants were on duty. Even though she prayed that morning, Jaxon was not at Aurelia Castle because she could not make eye contact with his beautiful dark eyes. “Did you sleep well?” And that hope was dashed as his masculine voice filled the quiet dining room. “Yes,” Mia replied, lowering her head even more without even looking at Jaxon, who was sitting at the head of the table not far from her. Jaxon saw Mia’s reaction. He worked hard to keep his delighted grin hidden. It’s too early to make fun of the poor girl. A servant came into the room with a trolley full of food. After having breakfast served, Mia ventured to glance at Jaxon. For some reason, Jaxon had become handsome several times this morning. Even though only with a white shirt whose sleeves are folded to the elbows, and wet hair after a bath, he looks younger. His dark eyes seemed to glo

Living in Denver is not as bad as Mia thought. Quite the opposite. She made new friends very fast. All the employees at De La Crush treat her friendly. Normally at Blueberry Hill, she would spend her free time cooped up in her studio apartment, but in Denver, she was invited to hang out most nights after her shift was done. Sometimes her new friends invite her to several clubs or just hang out at a nearby cafe, and she feels happy that her days are no longer alone. Her sandwich lunch ends with the arrival of a collection of foods from an unknown man who left the food with Grant. She felt sure that Jaxon was behind it all. Even though he visited De La Crush numerous times and asked Mia to accompany him for dinner or lunch, Jaxon never visited her apartment, which baffled her. After all, having dinner together doesn’t mean they are exclusive, right? Thinking of a relationship with a man like Jaxon is also impossible. A man like him sure has a catalog of beautiful women in every corne

The voices of conversation woke Mia. Her head moved slightly when she heard Jaxon say something to someone. “I want to vomit,” complained Mia. She fumbled around and grabbed Jaxon’s shirt to catch his attention. “Shhh ... we almost there, Mia.” Jaxon tightened his hug, which made her realize the two of them were in the back seat of Jaxon’s private SUV. Jaxon had rushed out of the Sugar Trap without saying goodbye to his friends, and he knew that his six best friends must have witnessed the scene from the bar. And Jaxon could hear their laughter as he was in pain, enduring the bottle hit from Mia repeatedly. While holding back his annoying memory, Jaxon pulled Mia back to his lap. She started struggling and was about to sit on his next. “Mia, calm down!” he hissed with a low voice, but Mia could feel his anger that hardly Jaxon controlled to make her obey him. “Jaxon, I can’t stand anymore,” she whined again a few minutes later. Jaxon took a deep breath. “Fritz, turn around to

The sound of footsteps from the hallway woke Mia. She suddenly got up from the bed and walked slowly towards the door to see who was behind. Her heart skipped a beat as she heard the faint sound of footsteps pacing back and forth along the hallway. Mia glanced at the clock above the nightstand. It was still one in the morning. She slowly opened the door, and suddenly she was stunned to find Jaxon alone. “What are you doing?” Mia asked with a low voice and made Jaxon, who was not focused on his surrounding, almost jump from his skin, but Mia didn’t feel guilty at all, even though she glared sharply at him. His hair, usually smooth and neat, looks messy as if he was only combing it with his fingers, while the buttons of his white shirt under his jacket are open to reveal his smooth broad chest skin. Jaxon didn’t answer right away. He stared at Mia for a long time with an unusually gentle gaze. “I asked, what are you doing, Jaxon,” Mia repeated. Jaxon approached Mia without answering

Mia saw Jaxon walking away from their car. Then, she noticed the bimbo standing in the parking lot, smiling broadly at Jaxon, who was approaching her. Mia couldn’t see Jaxon’s face, who turned his back from her. Her heart was full of jealousy as Jaxon’s steps got closer to the bimbo. Mia didn’t blink her eyes away at the two figures, even though the SUV she was riding just moved away without waiting for Jaxon, who was now standing in front of the woman. “Wait a minute, Jaxon is still outside.” Mia stopped Fritz, who was driving the SUV. “Mr. Bradwood ordered to take you to the apartment, Miss Heart,” answered Joe, sitting next to Fritz. “But ...” Mia’s words stopped. Now she feels confused about why Jaxon left her and chose the bimbo instead. Her gaze remained fixed on the two persons standing in front of De La Crush till they vanished as soon as the vehicle on the main road passed. “You said Jaxon ordered to drop me off at the apartment?” Mia asked, sounding sad. She sat with her back to him, facing the window in a pink blanket with a unicorn motive. Jaxon approached slowly, sat down as he stared out the window, and gave her space about two inches. The two of them were silent for a long time until several windows in various apartment buildings had their lights turning off one by one, indicating it was past midnight. “How much longer are you sitting here?” asked Jaxon, finally breaking the silence. You could hear her soft breath while her hands tightened under the blanket, covering her body as if looking for false security. “Are you spying on me via CCTV?” Mia asked in a low voice, slightly hoarse. Jaxon didn’t answer. “How many CCTVs have you installed here?” Again Jaxon chose silence. “Did you also install CCTV in my room?” Jaxon was also silent, but this time Mia couldn’t hold back her ang

News about Red Cage holding a unique entertainment was rare, spreading whispers very quickly. The men in black suits of Red Cage’s members gathered at the balcony. They watched the crowd in the Arena from the second floor. Jaxon sat quietly in his chair, and he looked bored. Even though his eyes were fixed on the Arena, his gaze seemed flat. A woman stood in the middle of a closed cage surrounded by bold red iron bars. The woman’s body looks limp, with her hands and feet tied to a pole in the middle of the cell. She covered only with a bra and G-string. Thousands of men surround the cage with a lecherous stare, their lustful eyes glued to her nakedness. There were whistles and condescending calls from the audience, making the woman cry because she felt humiliated. Her head looked up towards the balcony where Jaxon usually watched into the Arena, but the woman could only see hi

She’s Jaxon’s grandmother, the woman who raised him. Her full name is Gia Leonore.” Mia’s mouth formed an O at this information. She thought Jaxon was rising himself, seeing no family photos inside his castle. “Do you think he’s a bamboo stick that grows by itself? Of course, he has a family. There’s no way he was raised by a wolf. What century do you think nowadays?” Mia stared at Slaine as if she had a horn on her face. “That woman looks sweet and kind,” Mia whispered, amazed that the most feared criminal in Denver was raised by a kind old woman. Slaine laughed at Mia’s confession. “Oh, Mia. You don’t know how scary Nana was when she was young. Don’t be fooled by her appearance. They were admiring the lovely sky, which had a layer of Milky Way far above them. They both have access to a view of the night sky on this island, which is uncommon in urban areas. The sky there was considerably brighter than what they were accustomed to. Additionally, the moon’s crimson light seems to hover gracefully amid the various nighttime sights as if trying to distract the watchers’ gaze from what lies below.Jaxon finally spoke after a long silence. He should have taken a more straightforward approach, but for some reason, his mouth was too bold to reveal everything.
