"Uhm, just taking a breather outside—"

"With a bag, Miss Selvestre?" he raised an eyebrow before snickering at me.

"Next time, weave a very effective lie," he uttered.

I nodded and just ignored him. That would be better than being forced to say that I planned to let someone adopt Arkan.

I almost fainted after remembering what I had done. I must have been a very bad mother and thought of doing that to my son. I went limp and could barely walk.

What if I didn't change my mind?

What if I can't be with Arkan? Can't keep track of his growth? Then he will end up in a bad family? How?

My throat hurts thinking about them. Tears welled up in my eyes, and my heart was slowly breaking.

"Are you okay?"

I blinked at Apollo's question. That's when I realized what I was thinking. We stopped in front of the resthouse. When I looked down, Arkan was staring at me, which made me nervous.
