CHAPTER ONE
Daniella’s POV “You're cheating?!” I thundered,my voice reverberating through the room. Jonathan scrambled off the bed the moment he heard my voice. But Tara? She remained calm–like I hadn't just caught her sleeping with my boyfriend! I wished this was an illusion but unfortunately, it wasn't. The truth was crystal clear. My boyfriend was cheating on me with my best friend! The gift bag in my hand became heavier, a reminder of why I had come. Jonathan and I were meant to be celebrating our one-year anniversary. I had anticipated this day but all I wanted right now was for my heart to stop shattering, to stop aching. My breath became hotter as tears gathered at the corner of my eyes, “Wha-what the hell is going on here?” I inquired as my voice quivered. Jonathan approached me, his hands reached for my arms but I swatted them away. I didn't want to be touched by those hands that were busy caressing Tara's just minutes ago. “Daniella, listen to me. None of this is real. I-I can explain.” Jonathan tried to convince me and irritation surged through my veins as I heard him speak. For some reason, Tara was equally irritated and she rose up from the bed, cat-walking her way to me. Her brows furrowed as she glared daggers at Jonathan, “What the fuck are you saying?” She scoffed, “None of this is real? When will you tell her that she was always the other woman between us?” My jaws dropped following Tara's statement and it felt like the walls of the room were growing smaller, choking me with the weight of collision. ******************* The lively atmosphere of the night club didn't help with the sore, aching pain I felt in my heart. I had thought Jonathan was meant for me, I thought I had found my own person. But I realized that I was not only lied to, I was also going to be used. The real truth about our relationship was that it was built on lies and Jonathan was with me so he could have a child with me because Tara wasn't capable of conceiving a child. The realization of this made my stomach curl with disgust. I hated myself for being so stupid, for trusting him too much. Even though I was so hurt right now, a part of me still wished I didn't find him cheating. At least, I'd be able to pay for my father's treatments. Ever since he was diagnosed with leukemia, his medical bills drained him till he was unable to manage it. Jonathan always handled the bills as he didn't want me to continue doing menial jobs. But our break up also meant the end of his financial assistance. My brows contorted as the brooding made my temple bang with pain. ‘You came here to drink and feel lighthearted but here you are sulking about some man who cheated on you!’ following the little voice in my head, I gulped down the remaining contents of alcohol in my glass. A small frown appeared on my face as the alcohol burned my throat. “Another drink please,” I passed my glass to the bartender. “Sure thing ma'am!” The bartender replied. As I took a sip from my refilled glass of alcohol, the smell of cinnamon cologne wafted around my nostrils. When I turned to see who it was, I was attracted instantly. It was a 6 ft tall man with the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen on a man! His muscles popped up his shirt and his smile at the bartender as he made his order revealed a perfect set of dentition. He threw a glance at me and turned away and then he turned to stare again. His free hand was fixed in his pocket while he drank from his glass. I quickly averted his gaze in fear that I might blurt out how insanely handsome he was. “Um, hi. I'm Abraham.” He started as he took a seat beside me. A smile spread across my face as I sipped from my glass, “Hi, I'm Daniella.” He returned the smile and I felt the butterflies in my stomach jump to my throat, “You're beautiful, I must say.” My cheeks flushed red as I rested my cheek on my hand, “Cute is an understatement. You're crazily handsome!” The man burst into a small laughter and I couldn't help but notice how he straightened his brows while laughing. Something about that action reminded me of Jonathan, it was a habit for him. I snapped myself out of my thoughts as Abraham stopped laughing. “Y'know, I have been quite bored sitting by myself all night so I was wondering if you'd like to dance with me.” I nodded curtly, “Sure, I'd love to.” Abraham stretched a hand towards me and as I placed my hand on his, my insides squirmed with excitement. The pop music bursting through the club was too energetic of a song to dance to slowly. As we got to the dance floor, Abraham danced rather traditionally like a man from the 90s but I was still intrigued by his energy. He soon pulled me closer as we giggled while dancing and he slid his arms around my waist. The heat from the dancing and the alcohol started taking effect. I was burning inside! With my hands wrapped around his neck and our bodies in such close contact, we couldn't fight the feeling. We got overwhelmed and we claimed each other's lips with hunger. Abraham squeezed every part of me that he could and I kept his face buried in mine. Our breaths followed the flow of our kiss and the feeling was surreal! I wanted him and he wanted me as well. We soon got out of the club to a nearby hotel where we spent the night making love to each other. I was in a drunken state so I couldn't tell how long we went but I knew I barely slept. When the rays of sunlight shed through the room, I woke up to an empty bed. My brows twitched but my head was banging with a serious hangover. As I scanned the room for Abraham, I couldn't find him anywhere. My eyes darted to his side of the bed and I found a glass of lemon water, some money and a note. My lips turned downward, “Did he consider me a whore? That he dropped me some money?” It was really crazy of me to be wondering what Abraham felt after I had a one night stand with him. My stomach twisted in knots, making me wince in pain. This wasn't my first sex so why on earth did I feel like I was bleeding?CHAPTER TWO Daniella's POV “Mr Willow's condition is worsening.”After the doctor's call in the morning, I rushed to the hospital to see my father. His condition was bound to get worse after all, I hadn't been able to pay for his medication in a while.“Miss Willows, what are you thinking about?” The doctor's question snapped me out of my thoughts.I adjusted myself on the chair, “Um nothing. I was just wondering if I could deposit some amount of money so you can begin his treatment.”Doctor Sam clasped his hands together on his desk, “You know it's against the hospital’s policy dear. You can only make your payments at once.”“But I don't have the full amount and I can't watch my dad die, okay?!” I snapped at him as the fear of losing my only living family overwhelmed me.Doctor Sam pressed his lips together, “Alright. I'd only permit this because you've never requested for such before. Please go to the deposit section and make your first payment so we can begin his treatment.”I no
CHAPTER THREE Abraham's POV“Get married or get ready to watch your wealth be taken away from you.”The words that echoed in my mind as I offered Daniella a contract marriage. I had never thought I would meet her again but I did. And seeing how desperate she was to get money from me changed my view about her.I had initially found her very attractive, which was really odd as I had never felt attracted to any woman since Carissa died. My wife's death created a scar in my heart, one that bled every night I slept with strippers. However, something about the night I spent with Daniella was different. I didn't feel the pain, infact it felt strangely right. And despite arranging for a stripper to sleep with, I couldn't resist Daniella's charm.I thought she was a hookup girl like the other ladies so I left her some money alongside my address. I really wanted to see her again but I also didn't want to be too forward with it.Daniella only came to find me because she needed money. This made
CHAPTER FOURAbraham's POV“Yes, you all heard that right! Abraham can't be married!” Andrew's voice shot through the room.My jaw hardened as I set my eyes on the man who was supposed to be relative but was now my rival.“But I am so deal with it.” I snapped back at Andrew whose brown eyes sparkled with frustration.Andrew moved towards my uncle, “Uncle, Abraham is really cunning. He's trying to play tricks with us.”Tiny veins popped out of Andrew's muscles as he talked. Those weren't from the fact that he was yelling—that was from the fear of losing what was almost his. Andrew thought he had won the battle but I only brought him this close to surprise him in the end. No matter how hard he tried, Andrew could never figure out my next move which was why he was beyond shocked by my marriage. Sure, he hired detectives to monitor me but they only obeyed my words.“Tell him to provide evidence from the court! Or else I won't believe him! I'm sure this lady is a con artist.” Andrew poin

I never thought my father would find out about my marriage as Abraham promised we were going to keep a low profile but the reverse was the case.I had initially thought Abraham was just a wealthy man whom the world didn't know about but I was quick to assume.
