“Thank You.” I mouthed to Camille as I engaged Adeline and Cassian in a group hug. Sniffling, I pulled away from them and we all made our way to Camille’s house.

I didn’t want to go home yet because I knew how empty it was going to be especially with my children’s absence.

“I’ll bring more of your clothes and toys, Okay? Don’t miss me too much, I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” I said to them when it was time for me to leave even though I knew that they weren’t going to hear.

I’d decided to wait for them to go to bed before leaving and the horror of going back to the house washed over me as Camille saw me off outside.

“If you need my help just call me and I’ll be there as fast as I can.” She smiled, holding my hand before pulling me into a hug.

“Do you really have to go?” She asked as she rested her chin on my shoulders. She’s right, do I really have to go?

I couldn’t answer her question because I have no idea what Darren was going to do if I don’t come home tonight.
