Silence prevailed around us as Cassian and Adeline stared at me before looking away to stare at their mother and then back at me.

The look of disbelief evident in their faces as they stared, I’ve never waited and wished for someone to talk so desperately in my life.

Adeline’s mouth opened but she shut it back and the same thing happened with Cassian. I decided to give them time and give myself a break because quite frankly they need time to digest what they’d just heard.

“Really, someone needs to say something now.” I was taken aback when I heard my own voice break the uncomfortable silence with a nervous laughter and the twins shot glares at me like dagger.

I looked at Lexi, my eyes asking multiple questions and most of all why she thought it would be perfect to say this tonight when we both agreed to give it time.

“Is it true? Are you really our dad?” Adeline finally asked, I’ve known she was going to be the one to come up with a logical question that I might be too scare
