A good feeling

Allison's POV

“Good morning, mummy,” Aiden greeted as he sauntered down the stairs, into the kitchen, a wide grin plastered to his face.

Returning his smile, I walked up to him, crouched to his height and pressed a kiss to his forehead. “Morning, my love. Did you sleep well?”

He nodded happily. “Yes, mummy. There were no evil monsters under my bed.”

“That's great,” I ruffled his hair. “SpongeBob will soon start playing on the TV, go and watch it while I make breakfast, alright?”

“But I want to stay in the kitchen with mummy,” He pouted, looking down at his feet.

My heart did a thing, and I sighed. “And mummy really appreciates your kind gesture but she wants you to go and watch cartoons, okay?”

“You sure, mummy?”

“One thousand percent, baby.”

“Okay,” He grinned, revealing his empty front gums, which made him look like an adorable little old man.

Aiden had lost his baby teeth two days ago and had full on cried for an hour after I discarded it. I had to placate him with some ice cream
