Chapter 57

GAVIN'S POV

My plans to visit the kids at my mum's place were cancelled instantly after Jerry called me. He found something about this strange lady. As I drove, concentrated on the road, I thought carefully about what Jerry would have found about the lady.

For someone like her, it would be hard to even get her name. She was like a spirit, an evil one who knew so much about me yet I have never met her in my life.

Jerry had sent me a message earlier, telling me that some people in the rural areas of the pack had seen the woman. They described her as strange and eerie. Some said they saw her for only a few seconds before she vanished into thin air, as if she'd never been there at all.

When I arrived at the meeting spot, Jerry was waiting for me.

"Hop in," I said as I unlocked the car. He got in, shoving the sketch of the woman into his pants pocket.

"I think the woman we're looking for is a witch," Jerry said, his voice filled with certainty.
