Chapter 10

IRIS

DEAL!

I looked up at the man clad in a fitted black suit with neatly cut brown hair standing before me. He had a bright smile, and I knew he was familiar.

“Jude,” I called and he flashed a bright smile before taking his seat before me. The last thing I expected was for those damned advisors to get someone I am acquainted with as my date.

“So it's true. You really are from the Green family.” He said. “I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, but I was practically forced here.”

“I understand.” I bluntly replied as I waved the waiter over to get my order. I had a lot of things to do and I wasn't here for any catching up of any sort. “I'll take a cup of juice.”

“Yes, Miss Green.” The waiter bowed before turning to Jude for his order.

Jude used to be one of those admiring me from afar when I was in college. I knew about it because Helen didn’t hesitate to spill the tea of anyone who spoke about me to me, but I've never spoken to him more than two times and it was a forced conversation.
