"Are you sure?" Matteo inquired once more, as Ed's plan seemed quite ambitious.

"Yes. It won’t be quick to execute, but it’ll be headed in the right direction. I also need to prepare the right people."

Matteo nodded. "I’ll help. Gemstones are the safest bet. Diamonds are the easiest, and their business moves fast. No one will be suspicious if a large amount of money flows through there."

Ed simply nodded. He would defer to Matteo in this regard. "Thank you," Ed said.

Matteo didn’t have to help him, but he was willing. Ed hadn’t even asked for this much involvement—he’d only sought advice initially, not Matteo’s full participation.

"It’s no trouble. I know more because I’m older. And consider this... let’s say it’s a form of apology. After all, it was my son-in-law who panicked and caused this mess."
