“I love you,” I whisper. Jake leans in and briefly, returns my kiss. I was ready, more than ready to continue fighting for my pack, my family. His fear is replaced briefly by lust. We don’t think about what anyone will think. They’ll all figure it out sooner or later. We will win today, we’ve almost taken down most of the rogues. On the off chance that I go down, I want to have felt him one last time. For a moment, we’re lost to the kiss, the love, the desperation, the lust.
