Davina’s POVI put my worries about Robert aside, and tagged along with Jude throughout the rest of the night. He went over their plan first, adjusting a few things here and there. Then he went over Robert and Ian’s plan more thoroughly, noting down every contingency and every counter move they can take.He wasn’t doing that alone of course, there were around five other people he was consulting with; including his betas.Jude made sure to introduce me to everyone and referred to me as his mate with a proud tone, which made my heart melt every time.By the time the clock said two thirty in the morning, I felt like I needed a breath of fresh air. There was a small balcony through the office that overlooks the same view from Jude’s bedroom but a level lower.I looked at Jude and saw him concentrating on a monitor with one of his IT people.I didn’t want to interrupt them, so I slipped off on my own.I opened the door and stepped outside, leaning into the railing that reached my lower che
Jude’s POVI was eavesdropping on Robert and Davina’s whole conversation out in the balcony.I had seen her step outside to get some air, and I mind linked Robert to give him a last chance or attempt to speak with her before he leaves for his unknown fate.I was hoping she would finally find it in her to give him some sort of belief about reconciling to make him hold on to living and surviving that mission.Things started out rough between them at first; because of Davina’s dry attitude and brutal honesty of course, and I was afraid things might take a turn for the worst rather than the best. But she managed to change that at the last few minutes by giving him that belief indirectly. She was the most stubborn person I have ever met in my life, I admit. However, she was starting to soften a bit and I call that progress. When I saw her moving back inside, I turned myself towards Ian to avoid being caught overhearing her conversation. He was doing the same thing by turning himself to loo
Jude’s POVI walk through the dim corridor all the way to the last cell where James has been kept for the past four days.I take the key to his cell door from the hook it was hanged on in the stone wall next to his cell.As soon as he sees me, he gets up and casts his eyes down.Ian filled him up to speed and he knew exactly what I was coming here for.I haven’t seen him since I sentenced him to be imprisoned here. He was already a very fragile thin man, and when I took a look at him now, he seemed even more scrawny than before.I frequently checked on him through Ian, and he said he was giving him three meals a day, but he was barely finishing half his portions. His fear of me and regret for his actions were taking their toll on his health and appetite.“How are you doing James?” I asked gently. He kept his head bent down as he said solemnly “Better than I deserve, alpha”“It will all be over in two hours James, I instructed Ian to bring back your daughter and her husband here with h
Jude’s POV The seconds felt like minutes as I waited for the first sign of them to appear. “They have landed three kilometers away from you, but they are headed your way” Ethan said calmly. “Engage” I mind linked Robert and Ian. A few minutes later, I could hear their footsteps approaching in a steady fast pace. But when they caught sight of us, they stopped dead in their tracks. Shock written all over their faces. I identified that prick Chase right away. He was leading the group, and from Davina’s description of his appearance, he seemed to be the one. He was also the shocked of them all, and in three seconds, that shock turned to utter fury and rage at being played out so stupidly. Elijah kicked off on my remark and headed directly towards him, and so did the other fighters. We had to take advantage of our element of surprise. And that element increased ten folds when they bent their bodies to prepare for shifting, only to realize they couldn’t. My bond with Davina register
Davina’s POV I practically run out of the IT office where I was standing for the last half hour, my heart up in my throat from the frantic wariness and immense fear that whole time. Watching the fight go down. Unable to do anything but witness, I felt so scared. Watching and feeling the pain that shot through Jude as he was stabbed in the back was excruciating. I thought my heart was going to explode out of my chest, I thought the prophecy was about to come true and Jude was going to meet his downfall at that moment. It took every ounce of will power within me to stand my ground and not go running after them. I knew Chase was running away to get himself out of the border. Somehow, he figured that a spell was preventing him from shifting. I knew that if Chase was able to shift and Jude went running after him, the odds wouldn’t be in Jude’s favor. Jude was very strong but he was also deeply hurt, and I didn’t know if Chase was good or not. I didn’t want to find out either. I was a
Jude’s POV“Dude, I know you even more than I know myself, there is something you and Robert are obviously hiding. Spell it” I mind linked him tightly. We were all standing in the middle of the corridor outside Irena’s room waiting for her doctors to come out with a report of her health condition. As soon as I said to Ian that he seemed off, his eyes flickered briefly to Davina, while Robert seemed to stiffen. There was something involving Davina, and he didn’t want to speak up in front of her, and that’s why I began my interrogation through the privacy of our mind link.He looked at me in a troubled expression and said tightly; between us, “Later Jude please!”I watched him storm off towards the exit of the hospital, and I was half inclined to go chase after him, but I thought better of it and decided to stick with Davina instead. In all my years since knowing Ian, he never seemed so troubled except when he was dealing with my possible death and the aftermath of what he did to Davina
Jude’s POVIt took me a few seconds to comprehend what he said, a few more seconds to comprehend why the hell he said it like it was a death sentence instead of a blessing he had been looking for ever since his wolf awakened, and a few; or more than a few, seconds to find my voice again.“And why the hell are you acting like it’s the end of the world?” I chastised.I already anticipated his answer, but wanted to hear it directly from him, I wanted to know what he was thinking of exactly, and whether it was the same answer I was expecting from him or not.He looked at me with complete misery “I can’t believe you just asked me that! You know damn well why! Because it is! Where should I start? The fact that she’s Davina’s sister? You know, your mate? The one I tortured non stop for two days in order to save you? The one who kept her mouth shut and never begged or given up to the pain I caused her to keep her sister alive? Do you know what that means Jude? I was trying to kill my own mate
Davina’s POVI proceeded to tell Irena a clean short version of what happened after I left her that night all the way to the moment Ian and Robert saved her.I didn’t mention that Jude tried to tear out my heart at first sight nor about the prophecy behind it. I didn’t tell her about my suffering the first two days here. I didn’t tell her that Jude vowed to make me pay for trying to kill him and even tried to assert that vow by whipping me at first, before believing my story and my reason for doing what I tried to do. I didn’t tell her about the second spy I was able to identify nor the fact that he wasn’t a spy at all but our own father. I didn’t tell her about my warlock side nor the prophecy that tore our family apart the second we were born.Yeah, I barely told her anything. While the real story would have taken me thirty minutes to finish, this version barely took seven minutes.“I’m so sorry it took some time to save you. I was frantic with worry about you all the time. I would

The Moon Goddess’s POV I stand there on the balcony, as the slightly cold wind plays with my hair and white dress. I was watching my beautiful child from afar, Davina. She has grown into the best version of herself now, no longer lost, hurt, scared, hopeless, nor unhappy. She was wearing an alluring long, off shoulder straps, red dress. Her hair cascading down her back, shiny and straight, was being blown by the wind, giving her a look of a queen, which she most certainly was. She just stepped outside to the balcony attached to the ball room where she was just introduced to her whole pack as their Luna, and Jude’s official mate. The pack, after witnessing everything that took place on that field this morning, and how she went through hell and back to bring back their alpha, welcomed her with arms wide open and bowed down to her, vowing to always respect and protect her. Not that she was incapable of protecting herself. The ball was just about to end and Davina wanted to catch som
Jude’s POV“Holy shit! I still can’t believe everything you just told me” I said in wide disbelief as my mind tried to make sense of everything that happened after I died.We were all gathered in my bedroom. Davina was still sleeping deeply against my chest while I absently played with her silky long hair.Robert, Ian, and Irena were all sitting next to each other at the foot of the bed, facing us.I suspected Davina would turn dark due to my demise, but I didn’t expect it would go this far. She killed all the alphas, plus Robert’s sister and she did it all without an ounce of hesitation.“It could have been worse, honestly. I mean for a minute there, everyone truly believed that she was going to side with Lucy and destroy everyone who stands in her way, including us. Her love for you kept her sane thank goddess” said Ian in relief.“It wasn’t that” said Irena disagreeably.“What then?” I asked her curiously.“Her love for you is what turned her dark. She was gone, consumed wholly by
Davina’s POV With every ounce of concentration I had in me, and using every shred of power I could muster from my wolf Rowena; which she so willingly gave to me, I started casting what was probably the strongest spell that ever existed until now. It took a considerable amount of time to be performed. The incantation was complicated to read and very long, but I pronounced all the words with complete precision and focus, willing my entire being to believe that I will be able to pull it off. I finished the last word and I swear, my heart was going to explode out of anticipation. My eyes froze on Jude’s face. The seconds were stretching out to an unbearable degree. Then I felt it. The most intense pressure started building within me. The power that surged through me whenever I cast a spell usually wasn’t painful or anything, but this time it was. The power that claimed me whole like never before, was tearing me apart from the inside out. The power was slowly destroying my insides,
Davina’s POVThankfully, Robert didn’t say another word and stayed quiet as his tears rolled down his face with heart breaking agony for me.I turned to my aunt, extended my hand to her, and said sweetly “Shall I show you inside my pack house aunt Lucy? I’m dying to show you the grimoires I have in my room. There is a certain spell book that you will particularly love to read. It has so many dark spells that I’m dying to try with you by my side. We are going to rule the werewolf world and enslave them all like they did to you”She laughed a long evil laugh as she held my extended hand and we started walking together inside the gate. The second she entered through the shield, I cast a freezing spell on her.I let go of her frozen grip and stood in front of her with my arms crossed in front of me in mock triumph.“What the…?!” she gasped in confusion.“What’s wrong aunt Lucy? Can’t move anymore?” I asked in fake innocence. She gaped at me with her mouth open in disbelief.I widened my e
Davina’s POV I look at the remaining two alphas with coldness that made them shiver and tremble in place. They looked at each other and at the same time, knelt down on their knees in front of me. “You think this will get you off the hook? How about you start begging, and I might consider it” I said tauntingly. Their fighters were staring at them in complete shock and astonishment. An alpha never kneels to anyone, even if his life depended on it. Apparently, they valued their lives much more than their own self respect and dignity. Let’s see how far they can go to save their own fleshes. They were staring at me with huge wide eyes, wondering if I was being serious or not. I decided to let them know exactly how serious I am. To be honest, I was biding my time. I was trying to find the best way to kill Lucy. I was a hundred percent sure that she couldn’t be attacked, just like me. She must have taken her precautions and cast a shield around herself, nothing can go through that. “I
Davina’s POVWho the hell is Lucy?I thought to myself. I inspected her face as my brain tried to place if I had met with her before or not. It came up empty. She had short brown hair and deep cold blue eyes. The eyes. There was a familiarity to that particular shade of blue. And then it hit me.Lucy, Robert’s warlock sister. The one who discovered that I am the violet eyed werewolf in the first place. The one who tried to protect me. The one who hid me from everyone and made my warlock side dormant for my own good. But wait a damn minute! Isn’t she supposed to be…“Dead! I thought you were dead!” said Robert in shock.Lucy laughed evilly at her brother and said excitedly “Well, dear brother, clearly I’m not. I’m very much alive as you can see. Sorry I’m not into hugging anymore, too much drama is bad for my mental health these days”Robert was giving her a hard angry look as he said stiffly “You’ve gone dark. You uncast the spells on Davina and caused her to be exposed by everyone fu
Davina’s POVI thought I felt all the loss I could ever feel when I watched my mom die right in front of my eyes. I thought that nothing could ever measure up to that painful loss ever again. But I was so wrong. So very wrong.Imagine the pain I felt when she died and multiply that amount with infinity, and you wouldn’t even get close to how I felt the moment I saw Jude’s neck snap and his lifeless body hit the ground with a thud. The moment I felt the mate bond sever forever. The pain….. The pain was… indescribable. There weren’t even enough words in all the languages of the world combined to convey it properly and do it any justice.Five seconds of complete silence filled the entire place. Everyone was frozen in time. Shocked to even breath or blink. And then it happened. I felt it for the first time. The darkness. Calling me. Claiming me. Controlling me.And what did I do? I let it.My light was gone with Jude’s loss, with his… death, and someone needs to pay for it. Not someone, e
Jude’s POV As the guns went off, not a single person from my pack nor the people standing next to me flinched by an inch. We all stood unmoving and unafraid. The bullets hit the invisible wall just as expected without making any sound, then fell down to the ground right where they collided with the wall. A triumphant smug smile claimed my lips in satisfaction as I saw all the blood drain from every single face. Dominic was the first to recover as he yelled “Warlocks attack!” “Nothing can go through a barrier circle spell, not even magic” one of the warlocks among the crowd said and I could detect a hint of admiration and respect in her voice. Dominic growled in fury as his eyes never left mine. He was speechless, unable to find a solution to beat me now. “Now that we’ve established your huge disadvantage here, I’ll ask you to lay down your weapons and surrender. I’m willing to let you all leave today despite your traitorous intents for me and my mate as one last act to prove to
