Jude’s POV The seconds felt like minutes as I waited for the first sign of them to appear. “They have landed three kilometers away from you, but they are headed your way” Ethan said calmly. “Engage” I mind linked Robert and Ian. A few minutes later, I could hear their footsteps approaching in a steady fast pace. But when they caught sight of us, they stopped dead in their tracks. Shock written all over their faces. I identified that prick Chase right away. He was leading the group, and from Davina’s description of his appearance, he seemed to be the one. He was also the shocked of them all, and in three seconds, that shock turned to utter fury and rage at being played out so stupidly. Davina’s POV I practically run out of the IT office where I was standing for the last half hour, my heart up in my throat from the frantic wariness and immense fear that whole time. Watching the fight go down. Unable to do anything but witness, I felt so scared. Watching and feeling the pain that shot through Jude as he was stabbed in the back was excruciating. I thought my heart was going to explode out of my chest, I thought the prophecy was about to come true and Jude was going to meet his downfall at that moment. It took every ounce of will power within me to stand my ground and not go running after them. I knew Chase was running away to get himself out of the border. Somehow, he figured that a spell was preventing him from shifting. I knew that if Chase was able to shift and Jude went running after him, the odds wouldn’t be in Jude’s favor.
