Chapter 41: A Promise

Silence suddenly covered the place. Gideon's hold on my arm tightened when James spoke up. Katie's attention was diverted to James.

‘I think I need popcorn,’ Lilian reacted.

I just shook my head and smirked at what Katie would do to her husband.

“What did you just say, James?” Katie blurted at James.

“I'm winning Emerald's heart again, Katie. The words she just mentioned to you a while ago were true. I am at their pack because of her. I loved her, and she has been in my heart all this time,” James said, his eyes were staring at me.

It feels like my world suddenly stopped moving when my eyes met with James. The sparks that I found from his eyes were telling me that he meant his words. He was telling the truth and I still can't believe that James will do what I asked him to do.

“Let's go.”

My attention diverted to Gideon when he suddenly spoke near my ear. I turned around and he was pleading with me.

There was a deep sigh which escaped from my throat when I looked at James.
