“W-What do you mean?”

I stuttered as I asked Cassandra about it. She let out a deep sigh before speaking up. My heart didn't stop from pounding while waiting for her response.

“It's just my opinion. I really don't believe that an Alpha King will die just like that. He's the most powerful of the living wolves here. My instincts, as well as my wolf, were telling me that he's alive,” Cassandra uttered, which made me sigh.

“I was even hoping that James is still alive, Cass, but…” I bit my bottom lips before I continued speaking. “Gideon showed me the ring of James, and it's a sign that something really happened to him.”
