Charlie’s POV

When I wake up, the events of the night before come back to me and I turn my head a little to see Max sat at his desk, his wild hair tied up and a frown on his face. He was going through the paperwork on his table and I couldn’t help but watch him for a few minutes without interruption.

A smile spreads across his face “You don’t need to be so quiet, you certainly were not last night”

I feel my cheeks heat and not because of my wolf heat “How did you know?”

He looks at me with the same grin “You stopped snoring”

I was offended, I do not snore and threw a cushion at him which he easily dodged. Standing up, he comes over to me and gives me a gentle kiss whilst I pull him in for a much deeper one.

After several minutes, he breaks away “As much as I would love to spend all day in bed with you. We need to sort out this problem with Kiwi”

I frown, it was the last

Alexander’s POVCharlie did not look impressed when she saw Kayla and myself together and her eyes hovered over our clasped hands longer than normal but the distraction of Kiwi being on our land snaps her out of her thoughts. As Charlie declares she is going to take Kiwi down from the inside, Max seems furious, angry at the danger his mate is going to be in but this time I think Charlie is right, maybe tricking Kiwi was our way forward. As Charlie steps outside into the sunlight, Max corners me. “If this doesn’t work brother, I will make you pay for it for the rest of your life”. There was nothing to say. I knew he meant it so I just bow my head. Finally stepping out into the sun behind Charlie, pack members were knelt everywhere. Max declares that they must protect his Luna no matter what and then he mind links everyone the plan of Charlie going with her willingly. Max’s POV Agreeing to let her go was the biggest struggle I had ever faced, now she was marked it felt like I had more pressure to protect her, plus I had Ripper calling me all the names under the sun for letting her go. When she finally contacted us, we both breathed a sigh of relief and I felt him relax as much as I did. Charlie could not tell us where she was but she said she was safe and unharmed and with that she cut the mind link and there seemed to be no presence of her heat. I tried reaching out again and was met with a radio silence “It’s good news brother, at least we know she is safe” “But for how long, how long will she be able to keep her cover?” Alexander shrugged “How good of a liar is she?” That I did not know, she had never had a reason to lie, she had hid things from us but that was different, she had never directly lied. “Whilst Charlie is okay, we need to figure out things about this photograph”

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Fifty-four

Charlie’s POVIt was strange being here with Kiwi, she spent most of her time trying to please me, sometimes bringing me small trinkets, other times constantly hovering. At least with the boys they seemed to understand when to give me space.Surprisingly, there was also no sign of my heat, had it been satisfied by Max already? Surely that could not be possible, he told me it lasted a couple of weeks, not days. For the hundredth time she was asking me if I was okay and when I told her I was fine, it seemed to make her snap“You keep saying that Charlie, there must be something you want to do” She stands over me with her arms folded against her chest whilst I lay in the sun, blocking my rays. Kiwi didn’t understand that it was the small things that made me happy like feeling the sun's warmth on my skin.Propping myself up on my elbows “There is something you could do!”She beams “Anything Charlie, name

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Fifty-five

Alexander’s POVIt was strange in the packhouse, don’t get me wrong I am enjoying my time with Kayla, even more now she has moved into my room, what was strange was seeing Max moping about. Normally he was so head strong, so confident yet without his mate he seemed like a lost puppy.I knew he was communicating with Charlie as he told us so, and she was getting better at using her powers but there was still no sign of her returning home and until the Luna ritual was completed, Max was the only one able to speak to her which is extremely frustrating. As the days passed, Max’s anger continued to grow and he would take his anger out on any little thing that pissed him off. There had been a few times where I had to jump in and defend Kayla and prevent her getting injured. As much as I enjoyed how blunt Kayla was, Max didn’t appreciate it and as much as I told her to be careful around him, she could not help expressing her opinion.

Max’s POVAlexander was sceptical, why could he not just trust my judgement. He argued and argued with me all evening and if he wasn’t my brother I would be putting him down as disobeying me, the Alpha. Kayla jumped in several times constantly repeating how I should listen to her Grandmother, I might have been willing to listen if she had given me straight forward answers instead of making me feel even more clueless.Kayla eventually leaves, leaving Alexander and I alone“Are you sure you want to do this?” he sounded bothered, almost tired, he knew we were up against Kiwi and a possible battleI nod, “I have to bring her back”Alexander sinks into the sofa next to me, running his hands through his normally neat ash blonde hair “Maybe Charlie doesn’t want to come back”“Are you stupid?, she just told me where they were”Alexander shakes his head at me “No, I don&rs

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Fifty-seven

Charlies POVI hadn’t spoken to Max in days, mostly because Kiwi was always around and after a couple of days of being here she began having guards follow me around. She never restricted where I went but the only place I was able to go alone was to the bathroom and even then I had to be quick or they would start banging the door down.Kiwi stuck to her word and began teaching me how to use my powers and not to tie them to my emotions because then I would be able to use them when I wanted, she gave me target practice to throw what she called ‘power balls’ and I was getting quite good, rarely missing and what was more fun was when I practised on the guards following me.I made sure not to use my full power and instead just stun them but Kiwi was getting pissed that I was using her men and when I fired my last ball she shouted at me, demanding I go to her office immediately.“What the hell Charlie”“I have to practi

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Fifty-eight

Alexander’s POVKayla was angry at me and I don’t blame her but its not like I can just stop loving someone over night. Anytime we were in the same room together Kayla would start throwing things at me, shouting over and over, she wouldn’t even let me near her as she knew that our mate bond would help calm her, she was choosing to be mad.“I cannot deal with this Kayla, our Luna is still missing” I leave her ranting and raving and go to find my brother.Max is sat in the kitchen nursing a coffee and as I walk in, he pours me a cup “Not going well?” he raises an eyebrow at me and I shake my head, he had clearly heard Kayla shouting as much as the rest of the packhouse.“I don’t get it, she knew I was mated to Charlie before her, why is she acting like this?”“Women” is all Max says and I cannot help but stare at him, what did he know about women he had only ever been with one an

Max’s POVCharlie was a pure bred Lycan, it was a lot to process, purebreds just didn’t exist in this world, or so I thought. It meant Damon was also a Lycan and her mother was a Lycan. Then it hit me, Damon was still alive.Lycans had to be decapitated to die, Damon never had his head removed, crap. Just when I thought Kiwi was our biggest problem.I try to reach out to Charlie, who knows how much trouble she is now in and I briefly wonder if Kiwi would be pleased or annoyed that Damon was alive, my guess would be the latter. When there is no answer, I run through the packhouse calling for Alexander, I had to tell him and when he doesn’t answer immediately, I call him through mind link.“Alex, come see me its urgent”His sleepy voice comes back with “What now?” and I glance at the clock. It was 3am and once again I wasn’t sleeping. It did not help that Ripper was pacing in my head either, I ha

Thank you so much for reading everyone, I really appreciate it and would be grateful for any reviews or feedback. I have really enjoyed writing this book and loved every moment of it, but the story is far from over and book two will be coming out soon following Charlie’s quest in finding her hybrid mother and discovering what happens with Alpha Zach as well as what it means to be Queen of the Lycans. Does Charlie find her way back to Max or does she choose Alpha Zach? Will Max stand by his vow? Only time will tell.

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy-seven

Max’s POVDamon’s pack had retreated, many had lost their lives from both packs and as the survivors helped the worst wounded, I started to look for Charlie. She was nowhere to be seen along with Alpha Zach, some of the guards inform me that she went inside the packhouse.Entering the house, there was a lot of commotion and I follow the sound to the bedroom Kiwi was being locked in. The door was wide open and as I stepped through the doorway I was shocked to see Alpha Zach, Kiwi who was sitting up on the floor and Charlie who was holding Damon’s head, blood splattered across her face whilst his body was crumpling to the floor. As soon as she sees me, she drops his head which rolls across the floor, stopping inches from my feet, his eyes wide open in fear. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Alexander had said her killing was brutal, yet a part of me didn’t believe it until now, but she literally just pulled a mans head off his bod

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy-six

Charlie’s POV The fight continues and yet I still have not seen my father, he would be easy to spot as he looks exactly like me. The Lycans were mostly dark colours when shifted and were easy to spot, a little difficult to figure out who was fighting who but my father was definitely not among them which made me anxious. Alpha Zach links me “Have you seen Damon?” The main idea with me staying higher up and in the centre was because I would be the only one to recognise his Lycan a jet black wolf exactly like myself. “No, not yet” “Keep looking” and he drops the link. Being able to hear the Lycans was odd and I hadn’t told Max yet, as far as he was concerned, he was the only one that could speak to me because we had mated and honestly I wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. I scan the horizon, bodies were littered everywhere, Wolves, Lycans and some in their human form, but still, my father was nowhere to be seen. What was h

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy-five

Charlie’s POVI couldn’t think, I couldn’t eat and I barely slept. Life without Alexander was horrible, he had saved me from a life of hell, always around to cheer me up, put a smile on my face and make me laugh when Max was being all serious and now, now he was gone.I had slept in his bed for three nights in a row, his scent still lingered on his bed but as each day passed, it began to fade and I was worried I was losing him, Gypsy had been giving me the silent treatment as she blamed me for distracting him.Max had tried to convince me to come back to his room but all I wanted was for Alexander to be back. Not having him here was breaking my heart over and over and i felt physically sick. The few times I had left the room I had bumped into Alpha Zach, he never said a word and just bowed his head at me but each and every time, his scent nearly knocked me off of my feet and I wondered if he knew. The fourth night I headed back to

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy-four

Max’s POVThere was nothing I could do, I had spent years training and learning about the werewolf form to protect and help everyone in my pack but as I try to stop the flow of blood from my brothers open wound, I knew it was too late, she had pierced his heart and there would be no coming back from that.Whilst Alpha Zach keeps Kayla at bay and forces her to shift back, I focus on making my brother as comfortable as possible in his final stages. Even when I hear him tell Charlie he loved her, it didn’t change how I loved my brother and a part of me felt like it was slowly fading.Deep down I knew he was still mated to her and if that is what he wanted his final words to be then I was going to let him have it.Charlie held on to Alexander’s hands, sobbing uncontrollably. In some ways she probably felt like her mate bond with him was breaking and she needed closure. As Alexander takes his final breaths and his eyes close, Charlie t

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy-three

Alexander’s POVI don’t like these men, it was a mistake for Max to invite them here and I could see the way that Alpha Zach looked at Charlie, especially after he called her their Queen. After Max had told them to make themselves at home, the omegas led them away to show the men their rooms, they would be staying in the packhouse with us.“I don’t trust him Max”Max rolls his eyes at me “Look, we need help okay, we cannot take down Damon alone, this has to be why Kiwi wrote his name on the wall, she must be trying to help us in some weird way”“She also wrote down Charlie’s mothers name, do you think she is going to make an appearance too” I was trying to make Max see sense but if we suddenly turned the guests away now, then they would probably attack us.Max sighs, something he was doing a lot lately, “I am trying to do what I think is best for us, for the pack”&ldquo

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy-two

Charlie’s POVAlpha Zach was something else, he had muscles bulging through the shirt he was wearing, he was tall with dark hair shaven at the sides, tattoos trailing over the skin that was visible and down into his shirt. His eyes dark as they focussed on me and as he stared at me I felt an overwhelming urge to be with him and his scent told me that he had the same urge.As he calls me Queen I quickly mutter a good morning and rush inside, dragging Kayla with me“Who and what the hell is that Kayla and why the hell did he call me Queen?” I felt flustered, excitedly embarrassed about how I acted.“Well, that would be Alpha Zach” she doesn’t get a chance to say anything else as the door opens and Max walks inside with Alpha Zach and his men. Max eyes us warily but doesn’t utter a word.Alpha Zach greets Kayla “It has been a long time Kayla” a smile spreads across Kayla’s face and she giggle

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy-one

Max’s POVI couldn’t stand how close he was to Charlie and the growl came frome somewhere deep inside me, warning him to get away from my mate. As he moves away I see the wound to Charlie’s stomach, the burn marks already healing and her skin slowly knitting together but she was unconscious.I didn’t think Kiwi was still able to use her powers but I was clearly wrong, even as Kayla and I dragged her back to her room she was screaming, kicking and trying to throw small purple balls of mist at us. She had taken out two of the guards but thankfully they were already recovering and healing quickly.I couldn’t shout or punish Kiwi, she just wasn’t capable of understanding what she was doing, although she kept calling Charlie a murderous cow over and over.Kayla asked me if she could stay with her for a while, it was a strange request but I agreed on one condition, that she does not kill Kiwi, she nods her head and I pull the

  • My Alpha (Book One)   Chapter Seventy

Alexander’s POVWith both Max and Charlie gone, it left just Kayla and me. I was uncomfortable being here with my rejected mate and I am sure she felt the same way. The Moon Goddess really had a lot to answer too.“I’m sorry Alex” her voice is high pitched and squeaky and one of her blonde locks drops out of the messy bun and falls over her face.“Don’t call me that Kayla” The only person that I wanted to call me Alex was CharlieShe drops her eyes “It was never supposed to be this way, I was never meant to fall in love” she peers at me through her long eyelashes. I knew exactly what she was doing, all the girls I had been with in the past were exactly the same.“I’m sorry Kayla but I love Charlie” there was that dark flash in her eyes again“You are not mated to Charlie, you are mated to me”, she follows me as I leave the room and runs to keep up with my lar
